The BB1 is hard to beat when it comes to a straight up work horse!

lol I got nothing against Shimano! It is with out a doubt a GORGEOUS reel. After a year it is still my favorite reel I own. It hasn’t changed a bit from day one but that’s also with meticulous cleaning since I’m a little OCD when it comes to my reels. As far as the Elite Ti vs the Metanium DC it’s really not a fair comparison lol DC technology is leaps and bounds over any other tech on the market. Now the ParaMag breaking system is very similar to the Shimano infinity break system and Daiwas breaking system, I don’t remember its name, but those are the comparable reels in my opinion. The breaking system so far has really impressed me especially when casting weightless Texas rigged.

Yes Doyo is the manufacturer as they manufacture many brands. No one is here trying to hide that. It’s not exactly the same as the Doyo version, it’s got differences to separate the two. Nothing about it overpriced if you haven’t used it LOL

LMAO And WHERE do you THINK Shimano & Daiwa reels are made??!?!? While SOME Shimano reels are "supposedly" made strictly in Japan, most are actually made in Malaysia, China, and Singapore. What's more likely is that Shimano assembles their reels In Japan, but the components are machined elsewhere. It's no different than Harley Davidson CLAIMING their motorcycles are American Made when that is in fact NOT the case and hasn't been for almost 50 years! Tear open a Harley primary and pay close attention to the "Made In" on all the components within. you might be surprised to learn none say USA. Daiwa reels are manufactured in China, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and I'd bet that the Step is also merely assembled in Japan, but the components get machined elsewhere for the same reason Shimano and everyone else does… To increase profit margins. As a product manufacturer myself, the one thing I can tell you is that as long as the cad files feature exacting measurements, components will be produced to those specifications with very variance as CnC machines work by cutting substrates to hard measurements/dimensions of the CAD file, and does so to exacting tolerances. So you can stay on the high and mighty snooty horse of yours THINKING you spend your money on superior equipment, but I have news for you… You're just another victim of slick marketing.
