Beautiful spot & GREAT review! I got a couple gently used Mach 2's from my local 'Ma & Pa' Bait shop guy in 2021. I simply can't say enough about how much I love these reels. They're smooth as silk & tough as nails. I'm re-spooling one of them as we speak on this cold dreary winter day. New Sub from Indiana!
Honestly love the Lews Mach series in general. I own the mach smash in spinning/casting and have used the mach 1,2 and Crush as well all really good. Great video man tight lines !
"Double anodized" literally just means they anodized in one color on some parts and another on the rest. Anodizing something twice wont do anything. Other than that, great review. just picked one up today and really looking forward to using it.
Did you purchase the combo as a whole or reel and rod separately? I’m having trouble finding the gen 2 rod but can find the reel. Any help on where you purchased yours?
This video is only based on the Mach 2 reel, the rod I’m using in this video is not a Mach rod, but it is the Lews Reactor rod which can be found at Walmart. They actually sell the reactor combo which is a great choice. I hope this helps.
It is similar in design but this one has an aluminum body and overall is way more high quality feeling. It honestly feels almost exactly like my Lew’s custom pro reel. And it has almost the same features as it too.
The newest 2023 line ofMach 2 are better, and lighter. They’re all black no yellow in it just like the original mach2 is better than a generations 2 combo
Lew's has a habit of discontinuing their best spinning reels. I have a Lew's SSG with 10 bearings, 6:2-1 ratio reel that holds 185 yds of 12 lb test. They discontinued it after a short period of time and they also discontinued the reel in this video.
To be able to throw most lighter lures this will require you to use lighter test line. I have found that for most bass lures with this reel 10 lb braid and leader will get the job done.
