I got my XJ combo for Fathers Day. I love it and it goes with me every time I go out to fish. Really all the Lew's stuff from Wally World is underrated I think.

Set the spool tension to where the spool just barely wiggles back and forth, then crank the brakes up to max. Slowly turn the brakes back until you can make nice long casts without having to chuck the lure real hard.

Have this combo. Swapped the reel to a Mach2 200 after fishing one day with the 100 that came on it. Seemed to have a funny wobble to it, so got rid of it. Did'nt catch anything on it until after the swap. Since I've caught a couple of decent largemouth on it. One weighed 1lb-15oz, another at 1lb-10oz, another was 2lb-4oz. Caught a lot that were only around 1lb, and smaller.

I have watched this video 4 or 5 times trying to decide whether or not to buy this combo. I have two spinning wheels by Shimano and just bought a lew's Mach 2 baitcaster at Christmas. I think I have to go out and buy this combo and the Lew's American Hero baitcaster combo this week. I just can't hold out on the peer pressure from TJ and Norm!!! I can feel the force pulling me! My PB large mouth weighed 12lb caught in on Loughman lake fish camp off hwy 46 between Mims and Sanford FL in the 1970's, it is now known as Loughman Lake Lodge 1955 Hatbill Rd, Mims, FL 32754 which is permanently closed now. In the 1970"s all that was there was a launch ramp with dock and a bait house I went fishing there all the time back then I loved fishing that lake with live bait I live in NC now.

Ozark is coming out with their own lures. Some brush hog style, senkos, and craw. A all Walmart lure fishing challenge would be cool. Get a tackle box and get a plopper, lipless, soft plastics, frog and go head to head against norm with the same lures

yakpak i own a lews american hero combo baitcaster, i sure can say is that its a great rod, i also have 2 more baitcaster rods, a few spinning rods as well, these rods work great even so that it takes time bringing in a fish
