Just look at his eyes. When he was younger, there wasn't much life behind them.. Now, his eyes are so full of joy and personality. That really says it all.

Dude, he played a character back then. His character was emotionless, narcissistic and cool. So of course his eyes were "lifeless". Would've been total out of character for him to show this side of his.

@@mrblonde609 Nah, its not the same thing. They are all "characters", but they don't look lifeless. It would make sense if that was the case for all of them, but Luger was the only one like that.

He’s truly refreshing to listen to. He’ has obviously come to terms with his life and put himself in a good perspective with his faith. I’m from Buffalo and saw a segment when he was on the news, he goes and helps people spiritually these days. You can tell Elizabeth’s death and his own hardships had an impact on him and some people come out of that for worse or don’t survive (like Elizabeth), he chose the path to try and come out a better positive person.

All due respect, I assume you didn't know Lex personally in 1999. He played his heel character well and part of that was probably carrying that over with the other guys, but most people who didn't like him prob think he was a weak in ring worker and it's more the lesser guys who trash lex with a beer in their hand in these motel shoot interviews out of jealousy, because of his perceived working ability and the pushes he got. Most top guys never had a problem with him and from my knowledge, he never backstabbed or screwed over any guys.

In an interview Ric Flair called him a very smart man. I remember him well, Flex with Lex. It appears that he is broke now. It is sad to see him now, as I loved to see him on TV back in the day. He is such a nice humble man, who obviously is deeply religious and has Gd in his life 24/7. He is back in his hometown living with his mom, he is so lucky she is still alive, and it sounds like they have a wonderful relationship, That is such blessing. I agree, I am always very skeptical of people with extreme humility or even people who are overly positive. In my experiences, it seems more often than not whenever I've gotten to known these types, it turned out to be front. It's as if they have trouble being honest with other people, or even themselves and need to sugar coat everything; feel an extreme need to be accepted by others; or as you said are simply covering an ugly side of their personality. But Lex has gone through a lot over the past 15-20 years, so perhaps it is genuine. I do think it was pretty obvious he was not being completely honest about Miss Elizabeth's death though.

Love me some Lex. Rooted against him my whole childhood. The (my) four horsemen turning on him made me very happy. So, watching these videos you learn who people really are. Humble, respectful, nice guy who clearly has gained perspective as life goes along (like the rest of us). Thanks Lex, loved rooting against you all those years. Hope health is better going forward.

Here is a man that’s found peace of mind. His ego has gone and he comes across as humble and grateful Considering his shady past. It goes to show it’s never to late to reinvent yourself. And discover inner peace ✌🏻

Lots of respect for The Total Package I’ve grown to appreciate his legacy as a wrestler. He doesn’t truly get the credit he deserves.

In all honesty, Lex wasn’t that bad.... He had some great matches in his peak in the late 80s/early 90s. One of the best looks in wrestling history and he was a legit star who made a lot of money and was over as hell at certain points. He is definitely a guy who’s brain I’d like to pick if given the opportunity.

Love Luger expression at 29:00 min mark ,the breaking of hulk hogan shin, lmao! Must watch to the end, really learned how great a athlete he was and nothing negative about anyone. Speaks volumes of goodness and how it was the entire pro wrestling career. Best of luck Mr. Luger.

What a wonderful guy and as usual a fantastic interview. I’ve heard ppl criticise Hannibal and the interviews, usually because his voice is quite and low, but I feel he is one of the few that actually can do an “Interview”. Many like Conrad treat these shoots as a conversation, like they are the star and the person ppl want to hear from. That’s not the case, that’s why I also like WSI but that is a little to much quick fire sometimes as if they are rushed and James often has his questions lined up and he can just go from one topic to another. Hannibal on the other hand takes his time, he’s not afraid of a few seconds of silence which his guests often then often use to elaborate on the topic and story and we get far more insight and information. I’m not sure if there is any of his interviews I dislike, he’s great at doing these and because of his inside knowledge doesn’t waffle on asking stupid questions that 90% of fans already know the answer too and don’t want to hear again. So Hannibal my good man… Bravo 👏 bravo 👏 bravo 👏 this one especially was fantastic. Lex comes across as a wonderful guy who’s gained humility and is a extremely humble and personal. He seems very honest and genuine and is the complete opposite of the Lex we’ve heard described by two faced dirt birds like flair and others. ❤❤❤

Going from being a atheist to become religious is notable. I'm happy for Lex that he feels better now and he seems happy with his life. Being a great human being is greater than being a great wrestler.

His humility is amazing. Regardless of his spiritial convictions, I've not, for once, didnt believe a word of what he said. Some of these shoots you can tell are the wrestler trying to put themselves in a better light...not the case, here. Glad to see him doing so well. This is a great shoot and for a guy who wasnt much of a "talker" in the business, he's a hell of a shoot interview.

Lex and Sting were my heroes as a little kid. I remember feeling like shit when michael Hayes beat him at ww 89.

Me too, but Hayes only had the title a few weeks. Luger was the US Champion for most of those years 87-90
