See the thing was despite being a West Coast Legend in the game, Dre wasn’t doing too well on the later 90s. His own label Interscope didn’t even want him anymore and was about to drop him. Just like how no one wanted to sign Eminem. Dre put his whole career on the line just to sign Eminem and he did not disappoint.

Dre was so close to massive label failure at this time that he bet it all on Em and it fucking landed. He dangerously went all in on that green 0 on the industry's roulette table. But... Dre also knew he would have a career in the game with or without that "big" label at the time. This is absolutely why he created his own label; now we are just living in his "aftermath".

OK, but how old are you tho? Not everyone grew up with this music + radio play when she grew up might have been different. I am a white Norwegian 87 model but I grew up with Eminem, Snoop, Dre, N.W.A and I gravitated to that music, so I searched for artist like that. Most people my age only knew Eminem. I bet more people know about Dre now days because of his headset and not his time in N.W.A, as a solo artist or as a producer for x amount of artist. I to am skeptic whenever some put "first time listening to" or "has never heard of etc" but you have to take their age into account. It could be possible + she has probably heard some of the songs like Calefornia Love etc on radio but never connected the dots.

Dr dre is a legendary producer, but he always had his verses written by someone else. Ice cube wrote his verses in N.W.A. The chronic (1992) was written by Doc, Xhibit, Snoop dogg and some others. Jay-z wrote Still dre and The watcher on Chronic 2001, Eminem wrote forget about dre and many others were involved in some others song. Game also wrote some of his verses. Kendrick lamar wrote his verse for the recipe(Kendrick lamar song on his debut album Good kid Maad city). No disrespect to Dr dre in any way, shape or form. He is legend. He is arguably the best producer in the history of hip hop. If it was not for Dr Dre, we would not have Eminem Snoop dogg Ice cube NWA The game Kendrick lamar( Good kid Maad city was produced by Dre and he is also signed to Aftermath and Tde) 50 cent (him and Eminem exe. Produced Get rich or die trying, he produced the song In the club) He is a legend, without him West coast hip hop would not be what it is.

Dre learned that hustle from Eazy-E when he was on Ruthless Records. He even used the same hustle with lot of his productions aswell, from Dj yella at ruthless, Daz at Death row to Scott Storch at Aftermath. Anyways he has a special ear for great music and provided fans of rap with so much great great music. No doubt a legend in this game.

I love Lex's reactions lol but dre us the OG of gangsta rap he produced nwa, snoop, pac, ice cube basically all the west coast rappers. Y'all missed the will Smith jab, at the time they were beefing bc will said he could make platinum albums without cursing and the end was Hitman he was a new artist dre signed at the time and just wanted to give everyone a teaser

Why do people keep thinking Em and Will had beef? They never had beef before. Both Will and DJ Jazzy Jeff were impressed by his work before he even got big. They’ve ran into each other before and Will once told Em “You’ll either be the biggest flop or the bigger thing we’ll ever see”

@@compteprivefr it’s very possible for someone not to have heard this song as a teenager in the 2000s. The internet wasn’t popping how it is today and people don’t listen to the same genre of music believe it or not. She probably grew up in a strict conservative house hold or hardcore Christians who knows. If you watch her other videos she talks about the first time she started listening to rap music. It’s pretty funny stuff.

Andre Young, aka Dr. Dre, wasn't even a rapper in his early career, he was the DJ for an R&B trio, can't remember the name, in the same vein as Toni Tony Tone, or New Edition, but without the talent...Dre asked the only dude in his hood who could afford to loan him money to start his own record company, and that was crack dealing Crip Eazy-E...they brought in Ice Cube, MC Ren, and DJ Yella (with the D.O.C. as a ghost writer with Cube) hired a crooked manager named Jerry Heller, then created NWA...the rest is history.... Side note: the only thing about Dr. Dre is he's a known woman beater, like he beat up more than a couple women pretty bad....ijfs...🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm from Germany, to this day I remember the first day when Eminem (The way I am) made his way accross the ocean early 2000s and to a mix tape a friend made. I was like 13, learning English for maybe a year or two. And it hit me, I rarely understood any lyric, I think I have never listened to any HipHop... but damn my mind was blown I bought the album right aways and actually started to translate the lyrics from the CD cover with a dictionary. A year later I was best in English class and to this day I know any old Eminem song by heart

Timeless. In they year 2000 I came back to live with my mother and went to a new school to finish 5th grade. We went on a field trip and one kid I became friends with let me share listening to this CD in the bus ride. Needless to say I memorized most of this song on that field trip. Em's chorus is burned in my brain.
