The song is called "Criminal" he's talking about doing criminal shit but he's not seriously going to do anything. He's a conundrum. Thats the beauty.

He starts the song saying not to take him seriously then the middle of the song hes murdering everyone then the end of the song he says not to take him seriously I love this song. It's meta. He's saying the craziest shit he can think of, but with a prologue and epilogue saying to ignore him.

The industry definitely didn't push Eminem to the top. In fact, the industry and the media were trying to stop him. He was public enemy #1. It was a mixture of his talent, how unique he is (looks/style), and the perfect storm of being associated with Dre, Snoop, etc.

Both The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP intentionally blurred the line between Marshall Mathers the father/husband and his murderous alter-ego Slim Shady who threatened to murder anyone who pissed him off. Therefore, Marshall Mathers has no intentions to murder anyone in real life, but if he were to do so he would target the idiotic critics that label him as a criminal just because he raps about controversial topics.
