Really?, surprised people find you good? You guys are awesomely humble and terrific talents at the same time. Your tunes are as close to perfection as you can get if your goal is to be loyal to the originals. I spend hours watching the videos without realizing it.
just stumbled across you guys...nov. 26 2023.......im 65 yrs old.....been rockin to 70's music since 1970.......cant tell the difference between you and the originals.....and ive seen many live...keep on rockin..@@tonedr
Coverbands are the the most important things on earth. The stars are gettin old and die. But their brilliant songs lives in this bands forever.... Sometimes better than the originals. LLB is the best example and my absolute favorites....
Totally agree! My band is a cover band and we strive to cover material most of the average bands do not and to wow the audience! The goal is to keep great Classic Rock music alive and pay love and homage to those artists!
As a musician, I understand the level of proficiency each player must bring to the table to make the song "work" the way it was created. This seems deceivingly easy but it seldom is ... I am amazed at the entire production of a cover and the class act you guys/gals achieve.
It's absolutely criminal that this band doesn't have millions of subs. Found LLB about 6 months ago and I still get SMH moments on every video. Forever a fan.
Jesus- i spent the whole week listening to your videos. I fell behind in my work. My wife yelled at me when I didn’t do any yard work I promised to do. But it was worth it. You guys are the people I wished to be all my life since I started music at 12. I am 80 now. Wish I knew you as the Revivalist say.
It still blows my mind on how good everyone is. I sure hope you keep playing more music. I go on youtube just about every night and watch my favorite videos that this band does.
@@tonedr -- "Élite group of musicians" describes the band perfectly. It amazes me that all of your individually learned parts can come together so perfectly.
Love the Lab Band!!!!!!! Keep it Rocking!!!! My wife n I dig binging on LLB. Brings back to our youth. We turned 60 this year. LLB takes us back 40 years ish.
The talent and musicianship of the group is incredible. I can’t wait until their next offering, no matter who it is. They have made me appreciate the original groups who I might have missed early on. Boys, and ladies, please keep the music coming!
This is an absolute GOLD MINE! I found this less than 18 hours ago and other than a few hours of sleep, I've been running these vids non stop. AWESOME is the only word to describe this. It's "crack" for my soul and I think I have a problem. But I ain't looking for rehab! Just brilliant on all levels. Thank you all soooooo much.
Your work can really be considered to be a great honor to all the original bands because you bring their music back to live and keep it alive! The sound and recording quality is extraordinary and the selection of songs just top.Thank you so much!
Not to get too sappy here, but as a guy who's survived cancer 6 times (and 3 flatlines so far!) I spend a lot of hours in the middle of the night looking for things to occupy my time - so when I stumbled across the LLB channel a little while back, it was simply an incredible *blessing* . Things happen for reasons in this life and I believe you folks have been truly called upon to do this project - and I can't even begin to do justice to just how much *good* you're providing to the world when you produce these videos. So.... *thank you* and God bless all of you - and yes, I'm still digging through them all! - Ed on the Ridge
I live 18,000 kilometres from Lexington. but guess what? You guys and gals have put Lexington on the top of my next overseas destination. Bravo to everyone involved.
You guys are showing the world that in every town there are talented people who, without projects like Lexington Lab, would never get to showcase themselves. I grew up with the music you play and love the memories. Ever thought about slipping back into the 60's?
You guys and girls ROCK!! I've been a musician most of my life, and I'm 69 yrs. young. Your Steely Dan covers are amazing. I really appreciate the dedication to getting the note for note accuracy on these tunes, as I have been a huge fan of SD since the first time I heard them on the radio and you folks do them proud. Thank You for the hard work and dedication you put in. As a musician, I know what it takes to accomplish what each of you have done here. I hope one day I can meet each of you and shake everyones hand! Maybe some of what each of you have will rub off on me! Again thanks to each one of you and don't ever stop!!
I discovered LLB this past weekend and stayed up all night literally glued to their videos. Their work takes me back to my high school and college days. Keep up the awesome woirk!
Just found this band this year, having so much fun with the rock and roll journey of our youth,God I miss the live shows thanks for filling the void with damn good music 🤩😁🤗❤
OK … No matter what anyone says, you guys are the quintessential cover/feel good band for all the bands and songs, who, “We The People” long to relive from the days we had that, “Feel Good Moment” in our lives, when these bands were the best parts of our everyday goings on! Way to go … and, THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO! It means more than you know! God Bless! 😎
For the love of music, an idea was conceived. A band was formed and players came together. A few years later their name was known around the world. The dream and vision has touched so many people, making lots of fans along the way. Thank you Dale and Mike for making the LLB family and music available to us. Keep the music & videos flowing, its been one heck of a ride...
I am so happy to have finally discovered the Lexington Lab Band and to get to hear all of you perform. I happened upon a half dozen of your performances the other day and haven't been able to stop listening to y'all as of yet. Keep up the good work.
LLB is the best example of a project based cover band I have come across! It is like a slow cooked stew.....all the best ingredients are put in and slow cooked to perfection. You pull the best talent you have, let them learn their individual parts, and put those talented people together in an ideal sound mix...and the magic happens. Good music always survives. LLB produces some of the best covers that pay tribute to the original song artists and keeps that music alive for a new generation. It is one thing to play a song, and quite another to perform a song the way the original artists performed it. LLB does this and more so well.
At the age of 72, I have only recently discovered LLB, same on me! I grew up with this fantastic music & feel very honored that I did. This group of incredibly talented musicians, who are re-creating the originals in such a precise way, is nothing less than awesome! Thank you for your dedication & skills, also sharing with many nations. Good luck guys and gals! Thank you for the 🎶 music 🎶 💟
It’s not them who should thank us. Thank you all LLB musicians. We are so lucky to be able to watch you perform. Foreplay Longtime blows me away and I’ve watched it over 100 times. Just amazing!
I found this channel about a week ago. OH MY, as a 70 year old former music teacher and a local performer (in my younger days) this totally excites me. THANKS! Love the commentaries as well. YES, I agree about Donald Fagan. Great stuff!
I wish I lived closer to Lexington, KY, but I could drive it in a day. I would LOVE to do this one time! Great work, everyone! And that's an understatement! I currently play in a 70's - 80's cover band, so your project is close to my heart. I could SO do this! Rock on, my friends!
I discovered LLB a year or two ago and have been a fan since that day. The musicianship, the talent, the production values, all contribute to what has to be the most authentic and honest of covers from some of the biggest and best bands that ever graced a stage. Well done LLB, I salute you all.
I've watched a bunch of your videos sometimes then same ones multiple times but this was the first time I've seen this one and I absolutely love it. You guys are truly humble and the love of the music is what stands out. Thanks for doing what you all do
I just discovered your cover band Sept 16, 2020. I live in Oregon City, Oregon where a lot of the wildfires have been in Oregon. I heard your cover of Def Leppard's Photograph and was all smiles and so blown away. Then, l heard Boston's Foreplay/It's been a longtime and it was so exactly like Boston that l cried tears of joy and tears because America has been under a lot of stress and it just took me back to the old days of music. Thank you all so much! I just kept on listening and watching you guys do so many songs and right cue l am so blown away and needed this so much right now. You all are truly rock stars! I will keep listening and watching you all. God bless all of you! I'm 54 years of age and l'll always keep on rockin' out!
Wonderful, stayed up until 1 am last night watching the LLB videos, had to force myself to go to bed. This is why the internet was created! Thanks to all of these players, what a great way to spend time.
Well I’m late to this party! However, I heard several times how a song can prompt some thoughts or memories. I use songs in a ministry saying if a picture is worth a thousand words, a song is worth a thousand pictures. A lot of these songs do the picture phenomena for sure. Keep doing what y’all are doing. As I like to say, keep being the blessing.
Mike's vocals on "Synchronicity II" by The Police had my jaw on the freaking floor! I've become a HUGE LLB fan!! They're ridiculously talented! The deserve more subs...at least 5 million!
I'm ashamed to say that I'd never hear of this project until yesterday...and I live in Lexington. And I have literally been watching videos since 8am. I love this!
Add me to the list of people that are just blown away! I started with the Rosanna video, and have spent the majority of the weekend watching all the favorites of my youth being performed to an incredibly high standard. Unbelieveable group of talent, from the musicians to the singers andall the way through mixing, editing, video, production. Never was much of a cover band fan, but that has been changed this weekend. My love and thanks to EVERYONE involved, much talent that deserves to be seen. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us!
After viewing over a dozen of this band's Tributes ... I gotta say. Phenomenal! These guys are so damned versatile, They nail the nuances, tones, inflections of the originals and add a freshness as well. Jaw dropping range duplicating so many genres and they nail it all! One can hear the quality and care that goes into each song. These guys and gals have LISTENED very closely to the original and preened it all. And this is NOT easy. Super impressive and brilliant! WOW!
I played professionally in a road band throughout the 70s and well into the 80s. There was always the competition for gigs, recording contracts or among members of the band. I wish there had been something back then like you guys that I could have got involved with. It's clear how much fun you guys are having and you do a phenomenal job! Thanks so much for taking me back to years long gone but still fresh in my memory. What a treat!
What a way to finish with "It's hip to be square!" I can now more fully appreciate what it takes to produce the quality music I enjoy EVERYDAY! Thank you for showing some of the details. Thank you for taking the time it takes to make each song a masterpiece. I am excited every time I see a new song is available.
Wife and I listen to the Lab Band almost everyday. We have a Fire Stick on our TV. ( We were turned on to the fire stick by our Grandson) . Put it on RU-vid and let it play for hours. Love you guys and gals !! Keep it up!!
I’ve died, no really..... I’ve died several times.... 18 months ago a heart attack with three associated strokes, two plus weeks unconscious and I’m no longer allowed to work. I spend lots of time chasing around RU-vid and I just stumbled upon LLB... WoW.... I’m bingeing down memory lane... I really think this therapeutic.... You folks are flippin AMAZING... I’m making associations within the songs back to my high school days...I’m 57. I was fortunate to have grown up listening to the music you folks play... the Doobies, AeroSmith, U2, Etc etc etc.... I’m an instant huge fan... sign me up for a t-shirt... I would happily drive from my home in Central Texas to be present for a viewing of the rehearsal and filming of a group, don’t really care which group, as you do them all so well... I haven’t found it yet, but I’m off looking for Billy Thorpe Children of the Sun... and anything else I can find... I wish my cousin Bruce was near enough to you guys, he’s an amazing guitarist... what a kick it would be to see him playing with you guys...
hello Robert...great thanks for the kind post sir. Great to hear some of your story and we share the same age:) We'd love to have you at our live show in Nov...it's the only 'show' we do. I was just in Texas a few weeks ago, good times. Hope your feeling well, your friend, dale.
You all are fantastic human beings... the level of inspiration and professionalism you display is astounding. Sharing your secrets and personal experiences is what gives you the appeal so many have discovered including myself as a musician for over 50 years. I salute ya’ll A fan from Alberta Canada
I am amazed at the talent that Mike brings to this band. From his vocal ability to all the different musical instruments that he can play. I enjoy your efforts and thank each one of the members to bring this music to the fans.
Thank you, I just turned 70 on 1-11-21 and just when I think I have found the majority of the best band's on RU-vid, I found you wonderful people yesterday! Like alot of people I played in bands when I was younger and we would have our OMG moments on stage when it felt like what we always strove to accomplish, happened, just comfortably almost like magic happened, Oh what a feeling! But as usual I digress. To hear and SEE what all of you bring to so many people is just many notches above joy. To have been to so many concerts in my life where certainly not all but quite a few were just off. Maybe because the band was having a bad night or the sound people just didn't get it tweaked right or on quite a few occasions I was over tweaked. ! In closing, again I thank you for bringing me up close where many times I just got bad seats, and for giving me the sound that I so many times missed. I have more than a few videos of Lexington to catch up on, and I hope that you will continue to love what you are doing for a very long time. More Thanks,, Randy
I discovered the Lab Band about a month ago! I have been enjoying reliving my teenage years again! All the music I grew up with is brought back to life in the most amazing way! Thanks to all the great members of band! Great great work
Having played in original and cover bands for 25 years, I know the hard work and heart that is put into the music. And it shows how hard y'all work to bring the music alive! Everyone involved should be very proud!
i know you must have a lot of memories over those years and hopefully most of the good! Maybe one day we'll crank a few up together - sincere thanks for your time and post, your friend, dale.
As a guitarist and vocalist, I've so enjoyed watching and hearing LLB grow. I also know how much goes into the entire production and process. Well done folks!
No matter how bad my day has been, it is great being able to see gifted, hard working, dedicated, compitant artists from my home town recreating the music that sustained me through my education and professional training. For a while, I can revive personal memories and emotions that I otherwise had forgotten. Unbelievable LIVE performances that make me happy. Amazing. Thank you.
Guys, thanks for the "HOW". You've answered a lot of the questions that I have wanted to ask if I ever could have had your ears in person. Such great talent and commitment to honor the original artists. I've been a long time follower of the amazing covers you have produced. Never disappointed and always taken to higher level of appreciation for what all of you and the guests produce. Please keep them coming. Your listeners are always anxiously awaiting the "next project".
hello Joe and great thanks for the very very kind post - so glad you share your time and friendship with us! Hope this finds you very well and we've got some coming soon. Your friend, dale.
I am six nine years old ... use to play in a band as a youngster .... we played these very songs .... I get a lump in my throat ... really miss those days ... I discovered LLB during the covid lockdown in our country, South Africa ... I have sent links to the remaining four members of our old band .... every one of them are hooked now ... It is so good to see the enjoyment the musicians feel .... the quality is superb ... i enjoy these videos so much THANK YOU FOR ALL THE EFFORT ! .............. Just a foot note ....... anybody can use a looper or beat box .... but how many can .....play a real lick ... sing a lyric with expression ... make the instrument talk with ones fingers ..... or brass with ones wind .... that's a musician .... compose lyrics the have meaning !
What I love about this band and their guests is not only their performance and professionalism but their presence. They look like they could very well be your next door neighbor.
I recently stumbled across this channel and man I am loving every minute of it. I can't believe I have never heard of you before. I watch a lot of music videos on RU-vid, but I have been missing out until now. Good thing I am semi-retired, because I have a lot of catching up to do! The quality of your work is amazing, and I have already gotten a lot of joy from it. Okay enough with the fanboy. I need to check out the next one on the list... hmmm what shall it be?
As a fellow musician, it is easy to see that you love what you do and all get along well. All of you are awesome musicians and singers. I have played a lot of these songs over the years, and to see the time and effort you put into this is phenomenal. I play because I love music. I have seen quite a few of your videos, and I will sometimes close my eyes and listen. I swear that I am listening to the original artist. I truly enjoy watching the videos, and it makes me want to work harder to sound more like the original band. Thank all of you for what you do! It's a joy watching and listening to you!
Often, documentaries such as this seem like bands attempting to promote their band and their music. After listening to many of this band’s songs, I believe they feel every word they speak. From the first song I heard, I was in love with this band and their music.
Ok!!! A million hours of Classic Rewind, Classic Vinyl, and now a couple hundred hours to watch & listen to instead! Even better than pulling up the original videos, the sound clarity and reproduction is beyond quality and I’m a picky SOB! Congrats, and THANK YOU!
Thank you LLB! I just discovered you a week ago, and have since listened to 100+ videos. I am 19 again, cruising 4th Street in Louisville in my '67 GTO on a Saturday night. The songs not only bring back memories, they bring back feelings and emotions. I have rediscovered the joy music use to give me, I had lost that. Bless you!
As a native Kentuckian (and former Lexington resident) and amateur sound guy, I've enjoyed the LLB music videos immensely. I would love to watch a video session from the back row.
Lexington Lab is the definitive cover band/project which respects the integrity and vitality of the bands that they cover. The cumulative talent is extraordinary. I think they could go further and write and record songs faithful to the typical style that they cover.
Okay a 76 year old chilling here in Crete Greece only just found this group of such talented musicians, lucky to have been around when the originals were made. Can i say I enjoy your work more ? Such clarity !
Thanks for this one, because people have no idea of how much work and effort goes into all this, but the have to know all the gratitude that you guys get doing it, and YOU have to know how much gratitude we as listeners have for LLB !
Wow - that was the only word I found myself saying after discovering you today. Heard your cover/tribute to Boston and was immediately hooked. Your players ability to capture the tone, detail and nuance of the music was....well, Wow! The videos clearly show your respect for the original music through your obvious enjoyment to play it and without any theatrics. The musicianship shines. Can't seem to say enough - but hope you get the idea...loved it. So, this child of the sixties says "Thank You All".
Wow I just happened on to this channel, I was so blown away how you guys sound. Sooo tight, so how close you are to the original artist. I've been a classic musician fan for fifty or more years. Thank you so much for the awesome music. I must say you've made a fan for life. Love it!!!!!
I haven't played guitar in years. I have picked it up again. Thanks for the classics, the music I learned on. You guys are a complete group. Just amazing.
Part of the art is the assembly. It's amazing to be able to see the fluidity of this group with various artists coming together and putting it together in such a relatively short period of time. I am curious as to how they pick the songs and the musicians that will fit those songs.
The music of our lives will remain in good hands as long as LLB keeps devoting the love and the passion you all exude. The musicians and vocalists are truly gifted. Nashville has nothing on Lexington. Keep it rolling boys and girls. God bless you all and thanks for sharing your glorious gifts. I actually enjoy your covers more than the original artists because you all seem so... nice! And this behind-the-scenes look is just another marvelous gift for music lovers.
it sure is kind of you to have shared so much of your time with us! If you ever come through Lexington we'll have to get together and we'll talk shop and eat wherever you want! Hope all is good and you are enjoying your summer, your friend, dale.
This channel popped up in my recommended videos about a week ago, and I've been checking out some of your others. I've been playing rock drums for 64 years now, and I haven't stopped yet. I guess once music is in your blood, it never leaves. I've played in many local bands in the DC/Baltimore areas, and we've played many songs you all play in your videos. Being a musician myself, I can honestly say that this is some of the finest work I've ever seen. Every single one of you is a top-of-the-line musician/singer, and you all look like you're having fun while recording it. Even though it's a lot of hard work for everybody, I know how much fun it is to play music. I hope you all continue to do this for a long time, because I know I'm only one of thousands who enjoy watching and listening to all of you play, record and produce your work. Thanks for sharing it with us. Best wishes from Maryland, and stay safe.
Discovered Lexington Lab band just today, Oh My,what a treat ! Great Music, nice people having fun, wished you toured, I would go in a second, Keep up the great work and your right on in the way you do these songs, love it, Thank you for sharing your music.
I've been a HUGE LLB fan for years - and somehow, I just came across this video (about how the band works) - I'm even a bigger fan now than before - I have so much appreciation for the talent, passion, and commitment of these performers! And getting to know each of the band members has been a great "peeling back the layers" moment for me. Thank you Dale, and all of the LLB members - keep rockin'!
hello sir! thanks for taking your time to watching this video, we greatly appreciate your kind words and I'm very thankful for your friendship and hope this finds you very well!
I've been a musician since 1978, and I'm only 43 years old. This is something I've always wanted to try to get together with people here in my area in Alabama. You guys are playing all the songs I've played and grew up listening to all my life. You guys and ladies are awesome and I'm so glad I stumbled onto this and I am an avid listener now to all the Lexington Lab Band and The Tone Dr music! Love you guys!
hello Shane...thanks for sharing some of your story and we really appreciate the kind post! Hope all is good with you down south, your KY friend, dale.
I just want to say what all of you are doing is the greatest! To keep the Classic Rock music alive for us 60’s, 70, 80, guys is so cool & dearly needed because the music of today just ain’t there like a whole band playing all their instruments and just not drum machines or all samples are today. As a recording engineer in Nashville, The Lab band would be a dream band to work with!! Thank all of you for bringing such good memories back to us baby boomers 👍👍👍👍👍. Rock on 🤘
