Sorry just saw your post. I stuck my finger under the top clip to guide the plug back on and it fell into place. Hope you were able to put back in place.

Quick answer: clip holds the plug in place. So it should slide into place when you turn plug back onto bulb. I had a difficult time because that clip wasn’t sitting right when I was trying to twist cable back on. Totally understand. I had a difficult time finding a video to explain this replacement. So I had to basically take pictures with my phone in that tight blind angle to assess what to do. DIY for sure. Hope you figured it out! Thanks for watching!

@@weekendhoneydolist Thanks for the reply. It took HOURS for me to figure this out. It was so frustrating. 😆 I did initially tried to turn the metal socket plug but when I tried to turn it, it wouldn't turn because I had turned it the wrong way. So I thought that you must have meant the white outside plug that keeps the moisture out. I ended up removing the entire bulb out without disconnecting it from the metal socket. Then I tried to pry it off without turning it. I tried to do this for hours until I accidentally turned it. Then putting the bulb back on was a pain in the butt too. It didn't take as long. Maybe, about 30 minute, but that's 25 minutes too long. Once, you do it once, it's EASY. I guess that's the problem with most repairs. Once you do it once, you know how to do it. I know it's a lot of work to just post and edit these pictures, so I appreciate it. If you could post a video, I think it would be a HUGE improvement. *Btw, I didn't realize that I had a high discharge headlight that's 20,000 volts. If I hadn't turned off my headlights, I could have killed myself. Wow…
