Lexus ES 300h Review - The Most Lexus, Lexus in 2023. 

I got the 2022 version and after 15k miles and about 30 hours a week in it, I am absolutely amazed at how refined it is day in and day out. Took it down to Orlando and back during the winter to visit family and it was one of the most comfortable experiences I've had inside a car. If you are past hard suspensions, loud exhausts, dangerous driving, over the top technology and speeding tickets with maybe an arrest or two here and there for reckless driving, this is the car for you. 40 MPG during the winter month in New England weather. 44/45 MPG during the warmer months. Quiet, serene, refined, peaceful, calming, relaxing, etc etc. I only wish it was AWD.

This car is for someone who doesn’t care about driving dynamic, wants great fuel Efficiency and Reliability. Nothing wrong with that. Not everyone wants a sport sedan.

A lot main stream car reviewers go all complains about weird things.. You guys seem to have capture what an average consumer would like or dislike not some rich kid with a Bentley complaining about how not so good this and that is So thank you for reviewing genuinely for an average consumer!

Got my ES300h one month ago at Park Place Lexus Grapevine. It's the Ultra Luxury trim, which is what we wanted and is the highest trim for the ES hybrid. It is the Cloudburst Gray exterior with Acorn color semi-aniline leather interior. Total Installed Packages & Accessories: 1) Premium Triple-beam LED headlamps; 2) Smartacess Card Key; 3) Premium Paint; 4) Lexus Interface with 12.3-in Multimedia Touchscreen Display; 5) Ultra Luxury Package; 6) All weather floor liners and trunk mat; 7) Door edge film by 3M; 8) The Preferred Accessory Package; and 9) The Dealer added a 5-year windshield protection/replacement coverage package and tinted the driver and passenger windows. More: The three-projector headlamp design creates an eye-catching L shape. Adding to this brilliant design, the headlamps feature LED side turn signals, as well as an Adaptive Front Lighting System6 that uses steering and speed sensors to direct the angle of low-beam illumination as the vehicle enters a curve. The Adaptive Front Lighting System monitors steering and speed with a suite of sensors and will automatically adjust the angle of your low-beam headlights to improve visibility on curved roads. Just For Reference: I was not going to wait one-year or 10,000 miles to have the factory installed oil & filter changed. And, I shall be changing the Oil (Liqui Moly 0W-16 Spec V) and Toyota filter every 5,000 miles from now on. Like Scotty Kilmer says, oil & filters are cheap, engines are expensive. 😎

Great car review on the es. Call me grandpa, I'm 26 years old and i think its a great car for what it is. We gotta take notice, most of the US is all straight lines. The ES is suitable for the US because you're in a quiet place inside and get great mpg

Bought the Camry XSE hybrid instead of this because getting in and out of it would be nearly impossible if I’m having a bad neck day at 6’3. The minute I bumped my head getting in, I had to pass. And I wanted this car. Not making cars cramped for larger humans would be a lovely innovation.

love the es300h got a 2017 with 121,000 miles has been flawless sure its not a sports sedan but its comfy, reliable, and good on gas we use it travel back and forth to our farm which is a 4hr trip so we spend a lot of time in it the stereo is the only let down for me I have rented Hyundai and Kia that have much better stereos, my wife has a 2017 RX450h is also a amazing car, right now we have a 03 es300, 05 gx470, 17 es300h and a 17 rx450h all been great so far. We have owned many lexus over the years and out of them all since our 93 gs300 our 04 rx330 was the worst all in less than 100k waterpump fail, radiator fail, o2 sensors fail, all 4 wheel bearings fail, door locks actuators failed that was a expensive car to maintain.

Thank you for the great content. I have a 2019 ES 300h (my first Lexus Hybrid - coming from a Honda Hybrid). There is a loud noise coming from the brake booster pump every time I open the drivers seat or occasionally while driving. I have wrapped it with sound deadening (heat proof) material since sometimes it is extremely loud. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to function? Funny how I didn't notice that during the test drive and what might be loud for me might not be noticeable to others. Perhaps it's because the car is so quiet that you hear everything (kinda ironic). Thank you!

Thanks for your honest opinion on this car, i was looking around today but cant make up my mind 😢 between hybrid or V6… how you doing a Nissan patrol 2023 but it’s mainly for the family weekend and they use it for daily drive. That’s why I want to get a sedan but i’m afraid if I go with the hybrid, I’m going to lose the sense of a strong vehicle, unlike the hybrid but it gets me when you said hmmm its CVT then it backed me 😅so should i get the v6

Love this car. You can do 80+ and it still feels like you are riding on a cloud. I do agree though that this is your daily driver. This is your meditation session. For the weekends, get something with more grit and performance.

Everyone needs to learn to appreciate the benefits of the modern CVT. Once they understand why it does for what, you will fully enjoy that weird banding sound and feel of it. Especially for hybrid, CVT is a must in order to give you both of excellent, buttery smooth ride and efficient power delivery when you push; all of these while getting the best fuel economy. It's some next level shit, and Toyota really refined it better than anybody else. If anyone has driven Toyota/Lexus hybrid, you actually won't complain about it.

Done, I'll go buy the ES 330h and a Supra tonight! lol

This car is really great. You get an upscale environment at an affordable price. But I prefer the GS which is no longer in production.

As much as these cars cost you would think they would have better looking rims. I would only purchase the es 350 in the ultra luxury model

How would you compare this to a nonhybrid 2018+ camry SE? Is it worth the upgrade?

Does replacing the emblem mess up the cruise control? Is there wires attached to the emblem?

I think the 9040A is the model designation that at least distinguishes between base, premium, luxury, ultra luxury packages. Or at least that's my guess!

Got 2022. There is some cabin wind noise that really bugs me. Overall, it’s a great car.

Did this car have the nuluxe or semi aniline leather?

My mom has this car with the same colour and hybrid, but not the same rims.

Why do you not recommend hybrids?

Ordered mine - live in London, i find a drive of 10 miles in under one hour just never happens.... and the guy in the M5/S6/AMG next to me has been there allllll the way . Speed is pointless here so why bother

OK. It does its job well. But if you only have a one-car garage, get a low mileage 2020 GS350. Sooo much better to drive (thanks to RWD) and 2 seconds quicker to 60 than the ES Hybrid. But you will give up some fuel economy and will have to endure the previous generation's awkward entertainment/navigation system.

Heated seats and steering wheel are a waste of power unless you live where it's so cold, they need to be warmed up after the rest of the car's interior is still cold after the heaters have maxed out.
