In this video I show you in a very detailed manner how to install a rear LED light bar accessory in your Lexus ES. This applies to 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 Lexus ES250, ES300h, ES350, ES300, ES200 models around the world.
Some newer Lexus models have a full width LED light bar, however the ES does not come with that from the factory. This product lets you get that newer look.
This accessory has an animated mode upon startup, and has an animation when the left or right turn signals are activated.

Looks great. I feel like most auto manufacturers spend so much time designing the front of the vehicles that by the time they get to the back they're like "oh shoot" and you just end up with two generic tail lamps. As designers they can literally do just about anything with modern LED arrays after complying with the basic regulations.

General Motors (Chevy) are the worst in the taillight department 😖 so many nice designs until you get to the rear 🤢 the new Trax comes to mind (my opinion)

one tiny issue, sometimes when in reverse the stock rear obstacle detection on the camera thinks there is something in the way. I may remove the reverse wire from this kit to fix it. Otherwise no issues.

You would have to disconnect or cut one wire going to each tail light. I'm not sure which wire exactly, you'd have to test them before cutting.

Best choice would be installers of aftermarket car electronics (remote starters, car audio, etc.)

Did you end up getting rid of your LS? How do you like the difference/ size? I have been spoiled w my last gen LS in the LONG version...which is a real treat. Hate that you cant tell the diff between the LS and ES anymore without studying. Curious your change/ feedback. Great channel!!

I did trade the LS in on this ES. I prefer the size of the ES. I miss the massaging seat and nicer interior finishes of the LS. Yes the newest ES/LS generation looks the same, basically.

@@InternetDudeLexus stock turn signals are generally incandescent with the ES and IS. You've upgraded the stocks? I believe the only other option is for the accessories add on triple beams assembly.

every bulb inside and out is LED to my knowledge I did not change any stock bulbs at all, just added on@@whatitisnt.

Hey man great video! Planning to install that on my ES as well. I noticed you have interior ambient lighting , is that on the luxury model? Or did you get it installed? Because I have 2024 ES 300h F sport handling and my car doesn’t have it.

It is aftermarket lighting that I installed, not factory.

Nice change. The new Lexus IS with the LED light bar definitely makes it pop at night, and strange why the ES never received the same treatment since the new NX & RX both have this feature. This upgrade you did should honestly come as factory standard. The animation feature is awesome. My Audi has the Matrix LED options checked and it does it from factory. It is a somewhat gimmicky thing, but everyone who seen it was wowed & definitely increases its presence.

How’s the light bars holding up so far..?? I’m gonna get this soon on my car I’m don’t want the turn signals wired but I want the hazards would that be a problem? Also I see you have ambient lights on your car is the thickness and brightness much brighter than oem? Cause the oem is a size of a toothpick and the brightness is a joke. Thanks and new sub!!

I found one bug with the light bar, I do not recommend you connect to the backup wire as it may cause the car to think the rear camera lens is dirty. Otherwise it's all good. Regarding the ambient lights, yes the factory ones are useless. 🎉🎉This video was super helpful. Thank you so much for producing it.🎉🎉 I do have a question… if you were to wire up the long red wire on a 2023 Lexus ES 350 F Sport. The battery is in the engine compartment. Would you go through the interior to the fuse box and tap a fuse? Or, would you go through the rubber grommet at the bottom of the trunk and run it under the car to the fuse box? I don’t have a lot of experience with the Lexus brand and thought you may have a suggestion. Anyway, THANK YOU!

You could just run the battery wire to the fuse box, yes.

Is it possible to just wired the outer tailight just for signals and have the full hazard light on when pressing hazards. I don’t want to have the inner lights as turn signal only outers.

I think it would be possible, you would have to experiment with the center light bar and remove/cut two of the wires.

The main power wire goes to the battery directly. Or, you could tap into another accessory fuse.

Perhaps. I have found one issue, with the reverse wire connected sometimes the rear object detection does not work. I have since unplugged the reverse wire only and the issue is gone.

aha, to clarify, the Lexus built-in object detection sometimes doesn't work. It simply says something about rear lens being dirty even though I have cleaned it. I figure the voltage from the LED bar controller on that reverse wire is causing interference.@@soulfulmaple

There is a potential for that if it happened to malfunction or short out. Just having it installed doesn’t automatically void your warranty, though.

@@InternetDude That's what I'm doing. However, there should still be instructions and unless they commissioned you to do the video they have no excuse. And my wiring has a slight color variation. I'm also encountering an issue with the extra connector since the clips don't want to lock in place

I did the video on my own initiative because I was in the same boat LOL I found one other guy who had done the install but he didn't have any video but he did help me a bit in text form. I learn much better by watching something be done (video).

@@InternetDude Thanks for the video. I'm just putting it all back together. The unwired connector I ended up tossing and decided to solder. The prongs would not lock in the connector.Did you ever run the Red wire back to the battery. I'm thinking of just leaving it unconnected

I never hooked up the wire that goes directly to the battery, it seemingly only operates the shutdown animation.

Thank you for posting this!!! I got the blacked out set. Followed the install to a T, and it came to life. One thing I do notice is that the dynamic blinker L&R...are short. They do not emit from the center of the trunk out. Have a message to Manufacture to see if there's a fix. Love the black set!!!!! All other dynamics are nice and functioning after connection to battery post.

I did get it from the link you provided. I think they sold me a different version. Their "engineer" is looking into why the dynamic blinker size is different. I haven't heard or read of anyone else having the same issue ...yet.

Finally heard back. They stated that I received the "Newest Version"....however they have still not updated the videos in the ad or make note that they are selling "Newest Versions"...lol They work, and I am fine with the style. Getting a ton of comments from other ES owners. Just Buyer be Advised...=)

The battery is under the hood on the non-hybrid models so you can go there or find another power wire perhaps in the trunk?

I tapped mine into one of the red power wires but it didn’t light up properly. So, I tapped it into the power outlet 15amp fuse on the driver side panel and it works great.

@@hlubmoon8211… this worked perfectly for me. I took off the panel at the back of the trunk and against the back seat. (4 or 5 clips that need to be pulled out) then went to the back seat and carefully push a wire coat hanger through to the trunk. Once the wire was pulled through, I routed it under the trim, all the way to the fuse box. Once there, I tapped into the power outlet 15amp fuse. The shut off animation was so worth the extra work! Thanks for sharing.

@@Sor-gu2me… I had to route the wires through the trunk, along the driver side scuff plates to the fuse box that is hidden under the dash. You have to look for the fuse for the power outlet (listed on the fuse cover).

For the most part, no. I miss the massaging seat, soft close doors, and better interior materials. I don't miss the powertrain lag or the length of the car when parking.

In my case I wanted to keep the wood trim so I went for the small strip lights. If you don't care you can buy a kit that replaces your decor.

@@fahadhammadi6465 The kit I bought comes with a switch to change color, or you can use an app on your phone through Bluetooth. You can mount the switch wherever you want.
