David Hasselhoff and his Baywatch babes have once again influenced me many years later as you can see what drove the inspiration for the scanner light from the car named "Kit". www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...
I had one of these knight rider type lights as a third brake light on a sports car. When I pressed the break it turned on and scanned. I had a toggle switch inside to turn it on or just solid. Long story long, I was driving down a hill and a local Police car happened to turn behind me. If course I was pressing the brakes for longer periods so it stayed on. Finally I get pulled over at the bottom of the hill and her asked me about it and he only pulled me over because it was "annoying". I flipped the switch and he saw it was solid again and let me on my marry way. Probably ran my plates but I have a clean driving record and no warrants. Thank you for reading 💪
Can you imagine if you had an arrest warrant for a triple murder, a broken tail light, and a tied-up hostage lying in your truck bed just because of that scanner light that got you pulled over? Yeah....i agree, only do this if u have a clean record.
Very nice. I think those go blue and red like a police cruiser. Just don't hit that mode while driving unless you want to be hit with a felony. Waiting for a raptor lights install 😉
that would be way easier for access and wiring. Good luck Scott! Wait.....what the heck are u doing with a Kawasaki mule? Do you live in the back country?
Hi Bob, can you please tell me what you used to paint that piece behind the grill. I'm planning on changing my grill and I noticed on that video, you said you forgot to paint it black. Not sure what kind of paint to buy so its not too shiny or too matt, etc. Yours look perfect
To be honest, i used 4" wide black gloss tape. Only because i didn't have paint on me at the time and i was trying to progress on the scanner video. If i could do it over, i would use general black semi-gloss spray paint. Doesn't need to be heat resistant since its open-air.
@@GXBOB oh wow, I didn't even notice the tape below. I was looking at the piece where you tied the led strobe right behind it. Thanks for the info on the paint though. I'll look into it.
Hey Bob, did you modify that mid part of your bumper? You had to purchase the moulding? I noticed when you did the grille upgrade it flexes a little bit in the middle, did you had to put or modify a moulding on that middle area? Thanks for your videos!
No. I didn’t add anything to the mid beam. There is a foam piece there that i has to tape up with black tape to make it look invisible behind the grille.
Hi Bob, just would like to ask, which fuse (size) did you ise for this project. By the way you said it is always on when the car is off? (Won’t it drain you car battery?) Nice video Keep it up mate.
Hey Chris. The wiring harness that came with the kit had a dose of its own so I’m unsure (I’m currently not at home to confirm right now). I meant to say that the lights are wires that are not dependent on the vehicles ignition so that they can turn on and off anytime. I wrote it this way so i can flip them on for short amounts of time in the forest without having my entire camp group breathe in exhaust fumes.
@@chrisdonfa1660 i didn’t have that problem at all. But i have since removed it because i park my truck outside during any rain pour. Water seeped it and the lights started to do crazy patterns on its own
interior or exterior? Interior, i would replace all 4 of your foot lights and use those wires to power up some nice LED's. Exterior, i purchased some LED lights i was going to install in my wheel wells so all my tires light up when my running board lights up too. I will be doing that shortly once it arrives from Amazon.
You are not driving with these lights on. These lights are on only when the car is parked. It doubles as a security alarm deterrent. Plus, you have a remote control to turn on and off anytime you want.
