I think it was a pretty subdued improvement to the sound. I find the exhaust note of the standard GX to be so minimal as to be nearly non-existent. At least yours has a little presence.

Hey brotha love your GX mines is pretty much identical to yours just mines has the OEM wheels and BFG KO2’s! Quick question, are you running OEM UCA’s? I have an eibach 2.5 lift with OEM UCA’s and my GX has started to get bump steer when going over bumps, do you get any bump steer with yours?
Bro what was the installation like? Was It bolt on? Have you considered using 4Runner cat back systems? Some say it is a bolts on for the GX470 but does it apply for GX460 too?
I haven’t researched the 4Runner cat back system. The Magnaflow gave me the sound that I was looking for. There installation wasn’t bolt on but very minimal modification needed. Thanks for watching.
Sounds great. I want to put headers on my ‘21, delete the cats, and get this muffler. I can’t find any headers for it though! I have a header back on my 03 Tacoma, cat delete, and magnaflow cat-back. I’m getting 21 mpg average. Hoping if I do a similar setup it’ll help with mileage on this tank.
Sounds just right. I know you probably didn’t install the new muffler yourself, but maybe show the whole exhaust system and which components you replaced? The before and after sound was good, do before and after visuals of the exhaust system too.
I’d like to know this too-I went and bought it, haha, after your original video on GXOR but I’d to see a pic of where they cut it and any other components they used like clamps and pipe extenders.
How is the 1800 rpm (1500-2000) drone? I have the 4.6L in my Tundra and every exhaust I have tried even with pre-resonators had drone. I ended up going with more or less a stock AP exhaust/muffler.
Lexus GX Life It’s supposed to get louder as the packing wears out. There’s a video on RU-vid of JV Garage “Do Magnaflow’s get louder over time?” Showing his 1 year review. The magnaflow was significantly louder 1 year later. Though you said it’s not loud have you noticed a change in volume and rumble from when you first bought it? How is your cold starts?
Hi, why did you use model 11236 instead of 11226. As I understand it, there is a center/offset circuit in the exhaust and you have an offset/offset. Can you explain why you chose model 36? I also want to order for myself) thank you for the answer.
No it doesn't. The 11236 is smaller than the stock muffler and is more toward the middle of the GX. Does not affect the spare tire at all. Thanks for watching.
Depends on how the previous owner took care of it. I would have it thoroughly checked. The platform is solid but certain maintenance must be completed. Sounds like you’re referring to a GX470. That model has a timing belt, so I would definitely have that and the water pump replaced. I have a GX460 and my model has a timing chain. I would jump on the Facebook or Instagram GXOR forums. There is a lot of valuable information there.
