Awesome build bro I dig it 👏 I love it when people goes out of theyre way in doing custom builds that no one would even think of being possible especially a budget build mind you. You've just opened the doors for many is300 owners out there. Keep up the work 🤙
@@TyroneMcknight-h2s I live in New Mexico and an is300 that has under 200K miles is $8K minimum. The gs300 is a little better at around $6K, but that's still a bit too much, imo. A few years ago, these same cars were going for $3K.
Everyone else: "if you do a manual swap, you'll need a tune" This guy: "so i did a manual swap and turbocharged this bish on a stock ecu with the stock tune..."
If you are having slow response codes on your B1S1 and B2S1 try rellocating them to the headers (just like how it would be stock), it works on alot of stock ecu builds!
Very sano build for a budget build under hood. Is it really a Cali car? & Did it pass BAR with the turbo installed? I'm researching a not as cheap 2nd Gen IS300/IS250 purchase to drive & do a single turbo on. Looks sano for a budget build. IMO the down pipe alone looks like it cost $300-$500. I've done a few Bimmers. Tired of them & everyone has one. IMO BMW's are like butterflies. Pretty to look @ modded, but ridiculously fragile. Want something driveable & mildly different. Good vid. Just wish mic quality was better. 👍👏
Literally just ordered the entire set of parts list in your description for funsies. My IS300 was in an accident and damaged the rear quarter panel so now i'm just going to beat on it until it gives out. The only thing that wasn't in stock was the wastegate though on ebay, you got a link for another one? Also post more vids!
Thanks man appreciate the support! And I just updated the video description with the same waste gate just different seller. Hard to find 4 bolt wastegates with this bolt pattern. Sadly this ones almost 100$
Iv got the cheapest turbo 2jz build out there. I got 7k total including car and it has 2jzgte vvti tripod r154 big single big fuel dbb billet s372 emu blk on 22 psi pump no e yet
Dude I fuck with the build heavy! Shit is hardcore asf mf said he has e46 brake pedal but a gm master cylinder pedal. And that heat shield is straight lava
So the cat stock has 4 o2 sensors. I only have one connected and plugged into the exhaust. The other 3 are not connected and sensor not plugged into harness. But at the ecu pins to harness. I added 4 pins to all signal wire inputs from o2 sensors and wired them all together, so that all o2 sensors share signal. This worked for a bit with no check engine light but I currently have 3 CEL’s for the 3 o2 sensors not plugged in. My idea is to ground all 3 connectors also from the empty o2 sensor harnesses and then it will hopefully be CEL free
Hey big bro, please do a update vid All right I ordered everything you have haha so did you use the same t3 t4 adapter that you have listed? Really curious of the car still running. All I need now is intercooler setup
I’ll try to make update vid this weekend my dude. And I revised the list of parts links because I accidentally had a gte manifold listed when its supposed to be ge. Gte wont fit on lexus so make sure you ordered the one that theres currently a link to or a similar one for GE. And yeah I used the same adapter but welded it on to save energy of messing with it ever again. Cars still running great I drove it to a meet yesterday 30 min away and beat the shit out of it on the way back.
Yeah I saw that it was a GTE. I got the GE DNA. I love your setup bro. Got me so pumped to Try to get the same set up as yours ❤ I'll keep an eye for an update. Appreciate you bro
Amazing piece of ghetto engineering vs. amazing piece of Japanese engineering. Match made in heaven. Seems like an absolute hoot. Would never pass any inspection to be road legal here xD
when you did the oil return was it the lower or upper pan you tapped, cause i tapped the lower and thinking of doing a oil scavenge pump or do you think it be enough gravity feed with the t3/t4adapter giving it more height?
Wow. Goes to show you that no matter what you do, if you have at least a little bit of an idea of what you are doing, things will be fine. In this case, these guys are very knowledgeable and just don't give a fuck 😂 Truly a no fucks given type of build. Nice video.
Yo how much was it to finish the manual swap? Got lot's of CD009 swap questions haha. I have a 1JZGTE is300 with the w55 and it hates life at the moment, grinds and pops out sometimes. Did you get this with the cd009 already in there or did you do that all yourself?
@@WeMerkwhat kit are you running? Heard mixed things on the collins setup and have been looking at the auto sport’s engineering one or the serial nine setup. What clutch did you go with? Are you able to run the 350z clutch or is it something more custom like the tilton ones?
you should make a cheapest buld vid for a 335i i have one but im 16 im making barely any money i wanna make it nice and also fast but i dont know where to start for now just been doing maintnence
Here in the UK IS200s (1GFE 🏳️🌈) are the cheapest rwd J car. Our IS300s are all autos. Ghetto turbo or blower swaps are common. Seen those take death boost with OE fuel/IGN and run happy for a long time.
@@codyargyle2019 cars running better than ever, still stock ecu but now with fpr, better intercooler piping and afr gauge. Made around 250whp and 255wtq at 6psi . Have since turned fuel pressure up and new plugs so feels like its making a bit more now
Works fine to me i’m still on stock ecu and cars still ripping. Just added a fpr from fuel rail and a return style system now. Car definitely picked up some horsepower compared to completely stock fueling.
did you get a atune or sum idk how man my is300 i did a bit of back end exhaust mods and intake and now it hesitates and pops when i go from fast to slow yk.. How could i fix that idk what to do.
Hey I have absolutely no tuning done to the car but have done some wiring work. Not sure why doing a cat back and intake on your car would cause it to run poorly other than the fact that maybe your new intake has a vacuum leak, o2 sensor went bad somewhere or is not getting proper flow/reading or that your maf is messed up. Has to be one of those, not a coincidence you got a problem after doing those things. Something you did is not connected properly or got damaged in process i believe
I looked up the turbo and it says it’s for 1.5l-2.5l and that is a 3.0l engine you don’t feel any lags or anything what’s the exact turbo I tried listening but I can’t find the one painted black I’m going for it with my GS300 point me in the right direction
Its in the description with parts link and I removed the housing and painted it black before installing. The turbo is sized small so it spools early but at only 6 psi its more than enough
i’ve got a auto 2004 lexus is 300. i’m wanting to make it my main build because i just loves the altezza/is 300s do u think i should turbo my stock engine or swap for like a 1uz? cause idk what i wanna do but ik a V8 would be worse for gas
nah v8 in the IS would get better gas mileage. the UZ and (i think) an LS weighs less than the JZ yet make similar/ more power. plus lighter car compared to what v8s usually come in so the motor isnt being pushed very hard
Bro, you need a lavaliere mic so we can all hear your cuss words more clearly. I can appreciate your ingenuity and your problem solving skills though. Be careful out there!
Fr question for anyone that can answer. What’s the difference between the gte and ge 2j if u put a turbo it and tune it. Wouldn’t it be the same as the gte?
Engine internals are different. Head gaskets different, cylinder heads different, intake manifold/exhaust manifolds are different along with stock fueling and tuning
@@WeMerk I bought a nice 2001 is300 for $1000 dlls, I have to have it towed because it won't rev more than 3k rpm, the owner said that a mechanic said that it was the ignition coils, but they tested OK, the problem was the cat were all clogged, just took the 3 cats and drives so good, I only need to replace the brake booster.
I dont see any reason that would be stopping you from doing so. As long as your torque converter and transmission shift good they should be able to handle the power. That is until you’re making real power with standalone+injectors and tune.
Whatever the size of the turbo inlet you are gonna use. If ur turbo is a 2.5 inch opening then you could use a 2.5 inch pipe or if u want to go bigger to let's say 3 inch just get a 2.5-3 inch couplerand use a 3 inch pipe. In terms of length it was 4 inches long.
@WeMerk can replicate (u had parts that drove down the cost that most ppl wouldn't), reliable & efficient turbo system. According to your logic I can do it for around 100 bucks. Can go to a pick & pull, get a diesel truck turbo, cut open the passenger floor, y the exhaust to the turbo, no waste gate needed, cut up old exhaust from vehicles I gotta laying around to weld up cold & hot side. Wouldn't call it successful... unless the goal is to get boost the car for cheap as possible with no rules.
@@sojer6mile bro you can 100% do this for 500$ - 150$ used turbo manifold on fb marketplace, 100$ turbo from ebay, 50ish$ oil drain and feed, 70$ ebay intercooler, 95$ intercooler piping, ebay wastegate 35$. Only thing that doesn’t include is a downpipe/exhaust but downpipe like 40$ on ebay
@WeMerk sir, you asked me what I called successful.... I told u all the points.... The only thing you want to drive home is the price... I never said it couldn't be done for 500, I said successfully done. I looked on market place & I didn't see 1 turbo manifold for 150 or any. So it can't be replicated, which means it's a fluke. Enjoy Mr potty mouth...
@@sojer6mile why Mr.Potty mouth tho? 😆 and video title says it all… cheapest ever. Definitely not the route youd wanna take to make 400whp but your definition of successful or not. The car runs great, has 0 issues, pulls much harder than stock and makes all the turbo noises. Pretty successful imo
@@WeMerk AH, that's why.... lol... Try that where I live North of you, COPS would LOVE TO PULL MY ASS over in that MONSTER. IM SUPERCHARGING MINE, don't want the headache of getting it towed for ILEGAL MODS.
