I'm in the market for a new compact daily that's fun, coming from an Audi, how reliable are the F Sports V6 from what you experienced?

Every now and then, when it's empty enough I tend to drive spiritedly...even with proper maintenance on my Audi, some parts just go (I think that's just built in functional obsolescence) , I am seriously considering this car as a daily, and the most as far as mods would go would be nothing past stage 1s, and more aesthetics

That and also the magnetic suspension helps big time it's almost same as coilovers handlingwise

s60polestar fan I dont think the 3is has magnetic dampers. It has electronically adjustable dampers where a little motor turns a knob on them, changing rates.

Its definetly quicker then TL type s. We did pull with that it gapped him pretty badly. G70 and kia stinger is probably abit quicket the twin turbo 6cyl ones

In this generation, it doesn't really need it. I think Lexus should just up the displacement. Turbo engines are taking over though. This makes this car and the GS so special because its NA engine can still keep up with most turbo engines out there. If not, outperform.

@@mackfar27 I can see that the trend is towards 2.0T engines, this makes the IS350 more special (in that price range) because of the NA V6. I know that the 330i can beat the V6 off the line by .2 or .3 seconds, but the V6 sounds so much better and responds so much quicker. Despite having 1.5L more displacement, it still has competitive fuel economy, port/direct injection to keep those valves clean, and is overbuilt and understressed so it'll perform just the same whether it's the first year, or the tenth year. Those overstressed 2.0T engines have a much higher chance of running into issues after 5 or 6 years.

335i will not beat the is350 in any kind of race. Stock to stock.

Do you know where you heard that in 2010 lexus updated their piston ring design on the 2GR FSE engines to fix the oil consumption issue? I tried googling it and only found forum posts saying that they used the same piston ring design from 2006 to present.

Apotheosis I'm pretty sure it was in the forums. On top of that i've looked through countless service records for 2006+ gs/is350s and can note at least 5 off the top of my head that were taken to the dealer for oil consumption issues. I wish I would've taken screenshots of the years. But its hit or miss. Just like some 07/08 ES350s had bad transmissions, as did 06 Gs300s. 06+ GS430/460/LS460 have brake actuator/abs pump problems that are not cheap if they go. 04/05 is300s had melting dashes, as can many other lexus models up to 2010 or 2011.

Idk it's very different car. The s60 t6 Rdesign is faster, abit more comfortable, my s60 is awd also. Idk. The only thing that better in the lexus stock to stock is handling.

No it was just in sport mode. The rev limiter is increased in the RR tune.

Is the rr tune the reason the rev limiter gets bounced like that?

After the mods? I included 3 clips 0-60 in this video. Its abit wet so that may not be to accurate but should be pretty close.

Its pretty quick for what it is. With abit of octane booster it beats audis s4s, a7s... supercharged ones.
