Although the LFA is a marvel of engineering I would tend to agree with your comment here. The LC500 has an aesthetically more pleasing body line and contour that is more aggressive in styling. I feel that the interior is more refined and more luxurious as well. Now, if Lexus can just give it some more power and torque and lower the weight we should have a slam dunk on our hands.

The Lexus lc f is being rumored and rendered. The LFA was given that super/hyper?? Car rollout by Lexus and unfortunately this one isn't. But the LC F looks dangerously as good, if not, better than the LFA

+BryGuy87 Thanks for the comments! I had Boost Logic intakes on originally however after the addition of the headers and mid-pipe I had a few CEL come on for the MAFS as the ECU could not properly dictate how much fuel to give. So, I opted to restrict the intake charge by using Tom's drop-in filters. Breathe a little better than stock filters but as open as the BL intakes. As far as the fender signal lens there isn't anything in clear at the moment but thought of thought back when I bought the car. Yes, I am working with a custom carbon fiber fabricator and we are making a custom dry carbon spoiler that will still function with the active aero system and is a bit larger with a duck-bill. So, even with the active aero in retracted mode the duck-bill will be slightly elevated and over the rear decking. I'm also looking into having a custom carbon fiber hood and carbon fiber cooling plate made too.

This further confirms all the stories I had heard about McLaren ownership. As much as I love the performance of the McLaren models it was always unsettling to know that there would be so many issues if i got into one. I bought a 2020 MKV Supra to fill the void for pure performance aspect and it's awesome! With just a few bolt-ons and a tune my Supra runs 11.3@124mph at the strip. Very respectable times for such an under dog of a car.

Silver Lion Media your Supra is hottt!! I've been itching to get one to build, but only thing holding me back is the old lady😂 I saw a thumbnail in your library where the LC had a black hood. Man that was legit how the black grill went into the black hood, continuing on to the black roof, tinted rear windshield... and then flowing back towards the blacked out C pillars and all the tinted side glass... color scheme was 🔥🔥 I also liked how you addressed the speed of the LC. A lot of people who don't have experience with a lot of different cars simply can't understand that outright speed isn't everything. It's the guys in 4cylinder Mustangs and Civic dx's who are obsessed with speed and numbers because they're the ones who are ALWAYS wishing their car was faster. Unless you're building a race car, speed only plays a very small part in making a car good. There are so many subjective aspects that go into making a car enjoyable. People who've never experienced it, understandably don't know what they don't know. They just fantasize about having a "race car for the streets". If they actually had to drive a race car on the streets, only then will they realize how inconvenient, uncomfortable, unreliable, and unpleasant it is. Anyways, I like your taste in cars and look forward to following the evolution of your rides!

@@georgecostanza2695 Agreed! Have you seen the latest video posted on this channel? The LC500 has been wrapped in Dynamic Matte Lime with a new Seibon vented carbon fiber hood. It came out great.

It's amazing for doing what it was designed to do. And that is a touring car. Exceptional for long road trips. I would put the interior quality on par with my Huracan Performante.

@@peterwho9380 I still have my 2018 NSX and just picked up a 2018 Performante and I still turn my head when I see an LC500 go passed me LOL. The body style and design are so elegant, sleek and classy. Lexus just needs to bump the power and performance up. A 5.0L TT V8 with 700+hp and a DCT would have really crushed it. 495hp on a 4,600 lb car with single clutch trans is just not that good in 2022.

I will get some close-ups of the pieces mentioned here up soon. RR Racing does not have a SC kit available for the LC500 at this time. No motorsport company has been able to crack the ECU for tuning otherwise it would have been supercharged a year ago.

Not everyone has the same tastes.

Boost Logic designed a kit that doesn't function nor has anyone even bothered tried bench flashing the ECU on the LC500's. Without a tune or forced induction the LC500 is slow compared to today's standards of performance.

Boost Logic is the only company who fabricated a super charger kit for the LC500 back in 2018 it has yet to be demonstrated to function. Also, there is no way to tune the LC500 at this time. The stroked 2URGSE motor that you mentioned, the 5.6L V8 was ran on an engine dyno, different than a dynometer for cars and was never put into an LC500. Again, they were unable to tune the motor for real application in the LC500. The 2022 LC-F has been cancelled by Toyota FYI.

@@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA What about 800hp supercharged Lexus GS F, cant they adapt that supercharger for LC 500? Was stock gearbox the reason why they weren't able to tune that 5.6 V8 for real-world use, or they couldn't tune stock ECU? They could use tune ECU. I mean: there are people, who can tune a chair, why didn't they finish the job? Also, as far as i know they didn't cancel LC F, they just stop ity development to cut expanses during these hard times. But they have ttV8 and they race LC cars in DTM like races, with that V8 in them. It's not like they just had started the development. They have put in so much resources in its development, i don't think they will cancel it.

Might want to look at the date of the video posting again. At that time and date it was "THE" ONLY full bolt-on. PPE Engineering were the first to develop headers and a mid pipe for the LC500 and the first kit went on this car along with the first Tom's Titan exhaust kit. The Tom's exhaust and Tom's drop in filters were installed early 2018.

My sentiments exactly. The LC500 is not fast in a drag racing scenario. However, it can easily out maneuver a Mustang or a Camaro through a series of turns like road course or canyon racing. The LC500 provides so much more than just a one trick pony car that simply has fast acceleration though. Taking the LC500 across the United States is a dream. It's a true GT car.

@@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA Idk man. The new pony cars are pretty nasty, especially the top trim Gt350 and 1le/Zl1. Those cars would absolutely annihilate the LC road or track. But I'll take the LC regardless.

@@Youngster543210 I agree with you. The LC500 could never compete with a Mustang or Camaro. I say this and I have an LC in my garage. It's a beautiful car that has gained more attention than any other car I've ever owned. Personally though, I don't see why anyone would add performance parts to a (normally aspirated) car that weighs 4400 lbs. The LC is a fat pig that looks awesome and sounds amazing. I'm keeping mine stock. I'm diggin' the cosmetic touches tho..

@@Youngster543210 Not through hair pins or sweepers it won't LOL. The LC has active rear steering and superb cornering and balance capabilities that are superior to that of a GT350 or a 1LE/ZL1. We all know what happens to a Mustang when trying to corner out of cars and coffee at WOT LOL

@@TheMadmax0609 I added basic bolt-on parts to my LC500 in anticipation for a supercharger kit that has been in development for the last year and a half through Boost Logic. Which by seeing what RR Racing has done with their kits on the RC-F models yields about 600+whp on around 8 psi on the 2UR-GSE motor. 700hp on the LC500 with 550 lb-ft torque would be plenty to move the 4,465 lb slug to a more exciting performing car. Since, Boost Logic has been inundated with GT-R after GT-R and now side tracked yet again by the release of the new 2020 MKV Supra I doubt they will ever complete their supercharger kit or even bother trying to crack the ECU encryption for the LC500 platform. It's because of this I'm selling my LC500. I just picked up the 2020 MKV Supra and it's much more engaging and fun to driver over the LC500. The new Supra has received far more attention whoring then my LC ever did even when I was the first to have one in my city 2 years ago.

Matter of opinion. I think the additions I made to my LC500 back in 2018 were in good taste. They were subtle but enough to enhance it. I've seen other cars that have wide body kits slapped on with ridiculous wings that make me feel the way you do about certain cars being modded, so I understand.

I was a bit perplexed at the dyno results as well. Here are my suspicions for such a low reading. #1 This LC is on 21" 3 piece wheels which are heavier and larger in diameter than the stock 20" wheels and that requires the motor to use more torque to move the wheels causing further drivetrain loss to the wheels. #2 The LC was literally taken off the rack after headers and mid-pipe installation and placed on a dyno within the same hour. Therefore, the ECU had not had anytime to compute the new airflow. #3 the Boost Logic steel conical intakes allowed too much airflow in and the MAF sensors were unable to correctly read the massive volume of air introduced since the car was not tuned for the intakes. With the stock air boxes back in and just replacing the OEM filters I think I may have picked up a little HP and torque, and since the header and mi-pipe install I have a few thousand miles in which the ECU has adapted to I think I'm making closer to 440-450whp now. It goes back on a dyno soon. I will update here.

ELECTRIC EYE MEDIA double check your air hoses for your intake. I had the same reading before and realized it was a loose hose that was sucking up air and wasn’t plugged. Once I plugged it up, I have yet to see a “air flow lean” problem.

Correct! Either tuning companies really haven't bothered with this platform as they may not see potential for profit, or as a few have stated the ECU files have not yet been unlocked.

The LC500 was sold last summer of 2020. As far as I know, no companies have had any success. I don't think any tuning company have really put much effort into trying due to lack of demand for the platform and the ECU being heavily encrypted OTA Software.

It made power on the dyno so yes.

The adjustment of the 02 sensors will determine the information sent back to the ECU. If they're adjusted correctly no CEL will come on. No cats.

If you put 15K miles or less on the LC500 per year it's roughly around $500. Now if you get to where you need to replace tires, brakes and/or rotors or transmission fluid in the same year it could be as much as $1600 for the year. However most tires on the LC500 will last around 20K miles or more and transmission flushes aren't require until 30K mile intervals. I'm still running the same stock rotors and have over 19K miles on them. It's a Toyota you can't go wrong.

Yes the LC500 gets far more attention than both of my GT-Rs did. Nowadays R35 GT-Rs are everywhere. Every little foreign exchange student on college campuses in the U.S. have them now. They're like a prius for the liberal college geek. I agree with you that Lexus are quite conservative with their power outputs and performance numbers but then again Lexus has always been about comfort, style and reliability as they initially catered to an older crowd of buyers in the 90's and 2000's. I remedied my need for speed by buying a 2020 Toyota Supra and did a few mods and a tune and it's just as fast as an FBO GT-R now with more fun factor. The 2020 Supra is cheaper than even a 5 year old used GT-R, cheaper on insurance, better gas mileage and does not have a weak transmission like the R35 GT-R's GR6. ;)

Yes of course they can, as they have proven with how many other platforms already? As you can plainly see the LC500 cost $107K MSRP and the 2020 MKV Supra because of their collaboration with BMW were able to reduce build costs and deliver that savings by way of a much lower MSRP. If Toyota had produced the FT-1 and released it for sale it would have been easily over $150K just to even cover the cost of manufacturing. Remember, Lexus lost millions when they built the LFA. Even at a price of $375K wasn't even enough to cover the cost of the extensive R&D, testing, creating their own carbon fiber loom to create the parts exclusively for the LFA, the costs for Yamaha to design and engineer the glorious and iconic V10 as well as Yamaha's music division to tune the V10's NA tones and sounds.

It's all perception to how someone perceives something and it's then left for others to interpret as they see it. You're entitled to your opinion although I think the name calling here is unnecessary. Contrary to what you assume, the LC500 can handle a road course quite well and in style. I know because I have driven the LC500 both on track and up in the canyons where I reside. Coming from Porsche, Ferrari and GT-R's the LC500 is very much inspired by Toyota's racing history and development. Slow off the line but can out handle some cars that are lighter with more power in the turns. By the way, Toyota has been racing the LC500 GT's in Japan and they have dominated for two years consecutively.
