We are keeping factory car stereo when adding VLine VL2 system to it. All factory functions, original stereo buttons, touchscreen are preserved. The VLine VL2 system is the add-on that preserves the factory car stereo functionality, and adds CarPlay and Android Auto on top of it. The small black box that you are referring to is the GPS antenna. The main module usually goes to the glove box.

@@GG99MW2 If it woks without the tapping then it is ok for your install. In general we had a confusion from the users trying to understand if their stereo has self parking assist or does not have. Tapping reverse wire never hurts.

@@csronan5960 the VLine VL2 will only disable the external CD changer if present. You need to check how your DVD is connected. If it is built-in, it will keep working. External will be disconnected. You still will be able to access your climate controls the same way you always do.

If your factory navigation stopped working for some reason, VLine VL2 system will still work for your factory stereo. However if the entire stereo stopped working, VLine VL2 system will not work, as it needs functional stereo to display its functions.

I need your help ! I’m trying to get the radio installed and the guy is saying I need a kit in order for the radio to fit. What are all the things I need to install this radio? I have a 2009 Ls 460 and nobody else seems to know all the things I need. He said if I just buy the radio he can install it but it won’t fit. Is that true ?

Fitting aftermarket radio into the car is not as easy as it seems to, however also depends on the vehicle and the way the front panel is designed. Lexus stereos are usually very integrated into the car stereo interior, that is it hard to simply take them out and replace them with something else. The installer is correct, as to fit the aftermarket stereo into Lexus LS460, you also need the integration panel that will allow you to look seamless and built into the vehicle's interior. This is not a DVD player, this is the Android system that allows you to have fully functional Android embedded into your factory stereo system, with the access to Android applications and maps. You can use some video apps, including RU-vid. You can also connect your smartphone and use CarPlay or Android Auto. Note that CarPlay or Android Auto does not support the video apps.

If it does not plug, you are looking at the wrong connections. You need to locate the connectors at the back of the stereo display that fit. Make sure you look at the back of the stereo display (not the car stereo).

Technically you can do it with the HDMI-Out functionality of VLine system, however we do not have guidelines for your specific vehicle.

You will need to use the mic that comes with VLine for this year LS 460. The mic is small and does not really stick out within the car interior.

@@gromaudio I thought so. I just wanted to make sure there had been no update or changes incorporating the factory mic since I bought the unit a while back. I have been using the factory mic and the Lexus system to answer phone calls but will probably instal the Grom mic so I can reply to messages and get voice commands while in CarPlay or using the Grom interface.

For 2011 the installation is different as the vehicle dashboard and the back of the stereo are different, however the principle is the same - you need to take the stereo out to connect to the back of the stereo. We are in Plano, TX. You can contact the stereo shop that is local to your area. They can do the install for you. If possible, schedule the install on the weekday. This way the shop can call us if they will have any questions.

The sound quality is not reduced, VLine is keeping original sound quality. The system emulates external CD changer in the vehicle and preserves all original sound.

Ok I have a few questions before I place my order to replace the screen in my 2007 LS460L. 1) Does this unit have an HD screen? 2) it said its an android auto system I have Apple and I see the demo on here has siri and apple car play so does this system have both apple car play and android? 3) will all my steering wheel controls work with this unit? 4) How does this unit compare to the Tesla style unit as far as reliability and features? 5) Lastly do u have this unit for 2002 Lexus GS 300? I currently have an after market JVC dvd nav double din in it but would like to upgrade to something like this.....

Thank you for your interest in VLine VL2 system! 1. The unit uses your factory touchscreen, and fully integrates with it. You do not replace your stereo or screen with VLine system. 2. The system has both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 3. Yes steering wheel controls will work with the VLine system. 4. Tesla style has different concept, with Tesla style you replace full stereo. With VLine you add the extra functionality to the existing factory stereo and set up. With Tesla style you loose all your factory features, and need to integrate everything, including climate controls, etc.. With VLine it is simpler because VLine does not replace your factory stereo and does not disable factory functions. As of the reliability of VLine system, we strive to make it reliable. The system also comes with 18 month manufacturer warranty, and US based technical support. 5. We have the system that is compatible with the factory stereo in 2002 Lexus GS 300, you can check it here: gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-lex3.html The factory stereo must have navigation. VLine integrates into the factory stereo, so Lexus needs to have factory stereo installed.

I was under the impression this system was a full unit not just a integration to the existing screen my screen doesn't work so that is the main reason for replacement Lexus wants way to much for a new screen and a used screen is over 600...

@@bikerboy2k142 we do not offer Tesla style units. Since you already have the aftermarket stereo integrated, the easiest way for you is to replace this stereo with the other aftermarket that has CarPlay / Android Auto.
