I have my LS400 for over 10 years and 150K miles now. Still impressed by the smoothness and quietness every time I drive it. I'd like to switch to MBZ S550/S600 for a change, but had a hard time not considering LS 460/600. Lexus LS is just so good.

I had one 2 years ago. at 150k miles you could still sip coffee doing 145mph down the interstate and have a quiet conversation over your phone on speakerphone.

1uz engine still one of the few auto engines officially approved by the FAA for flight. and with an even firing pattern and DUAL distributors you could literally take the rotor out of one distributor and make it a 4 cylinder and the engine would still run wide open without an inch of vibration. i know this because my friends sc400 rotor button broke at 250k miles. we simply drove it to town and swapped it out in the parking lot in 5 minutes and drove off.

A shame I never got to ride in one of these when they were new, or any LS since, actually. Reliability-wise, this was probably the best luxury car ever built.

I have watched this commericial more than 10 times and I am still craving for more. Best looking shape for a sedan car. I own one and have always loved it. People make fun of it for being old but I tell them that this car can out run their newer cars. MPG wise not very great but I love it when the engine fires right up on half key turn and then run like butter.

This ad makes me feel things I can't explain Having one of these in the family probably adds to that

In Japan the LS400 was called the Toyota Celsior - it was named 1990 Car of the Year there.

Lexus... One will be mine. Oh yes, one will be mine! As much as I respect & enjoy the ride & driving BMW & Mercedes, there's just nothing like a Lexus LS & I cannot forget the beautiful ride quality that day I drove one! I want a Lexus LS400!

These are some dame nice cars I would love to own one tbh.

With Benz and BMW, the glasses would start crashing as soon as the speed hits 1mph.

I have a 99 and had a 94 best cars ive ever owned. Reliable and not to difficult to work on and parts are reasonable.

I still remember this commercial from when I was a little kid. I didn't even know what Lexus was. Now I own a Lexus LS430 and an LS460 L. One of these days I want to buy an LC500 too.

I've got an LS400 with nearly 300k miles. It sat in the desert for 5 years before I pulled it out and finally some ignition issues due to pack rats have kept it from running. Still, until the last day it was smooth, fast, and a joy to drive. By far my favorite car.

My car is Lexus ls 1998 and drives well until now

Well my kids have beat my LS400, the sun & heat have torn the leather seats. For $500 I recovered the seats with covers and thus far, it held up to them. Its not fo sale, at 295K miles. No oil leaks, can hardly hear it running. There are some in my county with beyond 600K mi. Mo**le 1 synthetic is what I run. At the salvage yards, any remaining LS400 salvage cars with 1UZ FAA certified motor have the 4spd transmissions removed, to live life in another vehicle.
