Lexus NX 350h: best in the lineup

Tried to order a 2023 RX 350h after driving my trusty 2008 RX 350 for almost 15 trouble-free years with No luck. All the Lexus dealers in Washington area said “you’ll get what we get from the factory”. And I have to wait 6-8 months!

No more choice. If you go for RX 500 plug in vehicle 🚗 it will take at least 12 up to 24 months. Sadly but true 😅.good luck

@@TuanPham-yp8gb I found at least 15 RX500h listed on Autotrader in the Washington DC area. At 65-75k, there’s going to be plenty of those around for immediate delivery

Hi! Was interested in 450h+ how long to charge fully, how is highway passing power? Thanks!

@@joemikey278 If you are using a 120V plug, it will take 12 hours to fully charge from 0 EV range. If you have a dryer plug 240V, it will take about 2.5 hrs, but you will need a level 2 charger installed to get that charging speed. The 450h+ is the most powerful NX available and the passing power is better than the NX350h, but that is when you have both engines running in HV mode. In EV mode I would say it's adequate as I have no problems passing vehicles on the highway. That’s a tough one. I found the ride is similar and they’re both luxurious and quiet. I’d boil it down to personal preferences: styling ext/int, CVT or AT, controls. Objectively there’s fuel consumption, with the excellent Toyota hybrid on top. But Genesis does a great job on value, piling features into its trims with few options.

My individual preference is the NX 350h over the RDX and CX-5 because it’s a hybrid, and the new styling and user interface work well. But the top-spec CX-5 does knock on the door of the compact luxury SUV clubhouse. Thanks for watching.

From the price sticker: Options Premium Package $1,500 Power Slide/Tilt Moonroof, Smart Key w/Push Button Start, Ventilated Front Seats, Power Tilt & Telescopic Steering Wheel, 8-Way Power Adjustable Driver and Passenger Seats, Power Rear Door, Ambient Illumination - Single Colour. There could be a difference between Canadian and US trims and option packages.

I am in Ontario- and in that option spec list, the 14 inch screen comes in luxury and above

There are plenty here in the SF Bay Area. I was offered one by a dealer recently but I simply didn’t want so many options on that 350H. So I opt to wait for a lesser optioned car.

@@Supramandon and this dealer does not add markup, but do add $499 tint and $199 BS nitrogen. My wife just want a NX350H with Preimium package and as little options and accessories as possible.

Sadly automakers keep putting on rough riding and expensive runflat tires. My Lexus has a spare (ES) and I like the piece of mind.

I was surprised that the RFs on the NX 350h did fairly well. But I’ll bet it would be even smoother with regular tires. I ditched the RFs on my own car (a sports job-they were so rough), bought Michelin PS4S and an inflator “mobility” kit and there’s a big difference.

Really, guess they know something you don't. How many flat tires have you changed, or anybody on average, over the life of any vehicle? Waste of space and weight.

Because fuel prices. If gas costs aren’t an issue, and especially if the vehicle won’t be driven enough to recoup the price premium within a few years, then a hybrid is not optimal. Thanks for watching.

@@FamilyWheels if you care about gas prices, why not just save the cash and buy a rav4 hybrid limited or venza? Practically the same car And you can always service your Toyota at a Lexus dealership

Even Lexus buyers don’t enjoy paying today’s gas prices. As for luxury versus non-luxury, people are free to spend their money on what they want. And a great many of them want the luxury of a Lexus, but one that uses less gas.

@@naveenthemachine I picked the nx 350h over the 2022 rav4 because it was a quieter ride, wireless apple car play, 14 inch touchscreen and much better interior

You surely have NOT driven the 450h+ w/ adaptive suspension and retrofitted with QUIET and Luxurious riding Michelin's ...on electric power ( the only power I use this car is whisper quiet!

@@donaldbanner2185 no I haven't drien the 450h+, but I have driven and orderd 350h and 350F and neither is that refined or quiet when not in electic mode. I don't think 450h+ is that different. However it's subjective.

@@9714 not every user and not evry single journalist buddy. I am one of those owners of this NX. The ecvt is noisy, and the tubeless Bridgestone tires are not the quietest. You'd better not be misled by what others say, experience it and judge it yourself. My 2016 Ford edge is surely quieter

Ultra Quiet cuz... I D0-Not buy gas Ever, but rather to and from work on 120 Volt charge....Talk of a QUIET ride! Quieter tha ANY other car I have been in including a Roll's .
