Wow, it worked! Don't know if you are still looking at this Dmitry, but my PS returned after installing the new high voltage fuses you did, and just to be sure I installed a 'new' (salvage) PS ECU. Turned on the car and the PS light stayed off, and the power steering returned. And this was AFTER the dealer spent $7K to try and fix it to no avail. (I paid only $1K of that) and after the old timers at the Auto Electric shop couldn't figure it out. So I simply bought the fuses and ECU, and installed them myself (after watching a good video of how to safely access those areas). Thank you Dmitry!!!!!
Taking out that HV traction battery, and messing with that fuse and DC-to-DC battery should be done with caution- there is lethal high voltage there. Novice mechanic beware.
Thank you for this video! I have an 08 400h and the rack makes noise whenever I turn the wheel. I was told I have to go to Lexus dealership to have it programmed but I wanted to see if anyone else on here replaced theirs before I spend so much money.
I dont understand how you could have a blown fuse and it dont shut down the whole hybrid circuit??? What led you to the Hybrid fuses? Did you measure ohms while the voltage is in the circuit? It's a whole lot of work removing the seats out of the car and not knowing for sure that the problem is a the battery. Anyways, thank you! I've learned where the different components are located.
Are the relays only for the steering. I have the same vehicle and I had a mechanic test each part of the hybrid battery and his reading were like 28 each time he touched the individual batteries. But when he tested the main battery terminals he got nothing both terminals read 0. But again the hybrid battery has voltage in it. He recommended we change the relay system?
Thank you I got a problem when I changed only 3 tires off of 4 tires with a bigger size ( one of the rear tires nut couldn't be open) because I couldn't open the last tire nut. So I drove for a couple of kilometers. when I turned on the engine I found the steering problem.
Hello, I have a problem with the code P0A08, the inverter has been changed, and the problem still persists. What do you suggest, Lexus rx 400,2008 thank you?
I have a 2006 hibrid Highlander and the battery system receive too mush water and the battery was repaired but the power steering it’s doesn’t work must be the same problem. Some friend tall about a system under the console that must another cause tonthepower steering problem. Power steering to hard to move
Lucas Othuon fuse is the fuse, but looks like Lexus want you to spend 300$ on it))) I switched to normal car 15A which is the same amp, working with no problem.
Hi Dmitry, thanks for the nice video explanation. I just bought a second hand RX400h (not a crush car), however, the steering slightly turn to the right (5-10 degree). Even though I already did wheels alignment, but this problem still happens. I really could not find out why? Could you help me to explain why this happening? Or anything went wrong to the steering sensor or computer as you mentioned? Thanks
it looks like power steering rack was changed on your car, so you need to do alignment and tell your mechanic to fix it, or you can rotate your steering wheel by unscrew it and put it back right position
@@dmitryeg You are right, Dmitry. The previous owner used to change it one time. Following your advice, I will take it to do alignment again and get the steering wheel to the right position. However, our local mechanic might have limited knowledge on such this complex system. Would you mind to share some tips/videos explaining about how to do alignment on the steering rack, as well as the steering wheel?
Peter Nicholas Hi, I got the car with this problem, but as far I know it could happened after strong front wheels impact to the some kind of obstacle. Part number is Relay Assembly - Lexus (G3840-48010), but this is all rely, the don’t sell fuses alone, they want your 300$ instead 3$ fo the fuse.
Oh ok I think I might have the same problem - car had a hard impact that broke the steering arm which has now been replaced - are the fuses the standard type? how long did it take to strip down the back of the car to get to the relays ?
in your case, you can start from checking fuse, it is easy to reach relay assembly, you need to take out back seats, before you open battery cover, turn off battery switch with is under back passenger seat behind driver, it is red color "bulkhead" like switch. then you need to use tester to find out if you need to change fuse. But before you better check your steering wheel computer. rx400.2x4.ru/rm03h0ru/repair2/html/contents/rm0000011u1001x.html#
Hey Dimitry. I have the same car same problem. I took it to local repair shop they fixed it but it lasted only two months now it the problem started again. I am in Toronto. Where are you located ?
@@dmitryeg I have changed the computer with no help, just checked both fuses which are both good. Inverter next? Also the electrical plug that you take off to check resistance in the video, should there be voltage there? My car read nothing on that connector.
Michael Maltese it is 2006, I looked at the battery, don’t think it is hard to do, only one thing, you need to have mechanic with the scanner to reset the computer after installation.
Thanks for video mate.can you please spell that thing which is next to computer...reck,rec this is what i hear and I’m polish and don’t know what the part is.
Make a better video bro. You didn't even mention how you got to the fuse, that you must have taken out the back seats and possibly the batteries, I'm not even sure but that's what I'm assuming. The least you could do is mention that in a sub video or some comments that you had to take out the rear seat and possibly what appears to look like the hybrid batteries which I saw laying on the outside of your car. I'm going to have to give you thumbs down this time, if I find a better video from you I'll give you a thumbs up.
