I have always wanted to make a video of Gencer's elegant, mournful and suspended pianissimi. At last I am able to put together some examples of her pps,ppps from 50s,60s, 70s and even 80s. This is the list of operas where the excerpts are taken.

thank for the comment on "Monte Ivnor", here Leyla Genger was so beautiful and perfect. Her interpratation was not only appreciate for "pianissimi" but in all the Opera for her grat Lirismo and pathos, a real Great Voice. I have the pleasure to know her many years ago.. and talk with her many times with the Maestro Gian Andrea Gavazzeni dear friend of my father the Autor of "Monte Ivnor". All the times wasa real rich experience. Thanks Leyla.

Il pianissimo di Leyla. Indimenticabile, irripetibile, unico. Leyla sempre sará ricordata per la il suo arte, la sua magia e il suo dono divino per il canto e la parola, che la a diventato il cantactrice più espressivo del secolo scorso. Arte, semplicemente arte.

great video, you missed her most ravishing and longest perhaps, in the Donizetti Requiem, 23 seconds.

@tklogan111809 I was thinking about including that, too but you can't clearly hear Gencer singing there because of the sound quality as she sings along with the chorus. But I may make another video and include it. She has millions of beautiful pianissimi :)

You should have used the Palermo Macbeth (1960 Gui conducting) rather than the Venice ('68 - Gavazzeni?) where she actually sings (and floats) the Db divinely!

@sezgin86 I don't know what recording you have but the quality of sound is fabulous, in fact I uploaded it last night. Search Gencer Requiem Donizetti :)

@Lweoira It is definitely Gencer, but it is from 80s, nearly the end of her career.
