I was so happy for Robertson last night. my wife made fun of me for clapping when he got the OT goal and then again because I was still smiling ear to ear five minutes later. Listening to Steve describe the goal gave me feels again. Best Leaf performance this season. I hope he can stay healthy, he belongs on the team if he can keep playing like that.

Who would’ve guessed the type of player we’ve been looking for would be found in a rookie in the AHL. He was taking hits to make plays and he was focused. Most Leaf’s look disinterested until their down a couple of goals. I really hope he sticks around for the season.

Oh Steve, just want to warn you. In the playoffs coming in spring 2023, you will need medication because this version of the Leafs CANNOT compete in the playoffs AGAIN. There continues to be large holes in this lineup. First, defense is lacking and has been since Dubas became a GM. Second, insufficient toughness AGAIN. Third, goaltending is insufficient AGAIN. MLSE has selected a GM who has not been able to admit that his philosophy is flawed and subsequently ice a team that is balanced enough to compete WHEN IT MATTERS. The Leafs are FIRST a money making organization, who can fault them for that BUT, why not protect the best offensive player in the league? Several players are needed to make this team competitive IN THE PLAYOFFS. MLSE doesn’t know OR it’s not important enough to change their philosophy. Far too much inability to be TOUGH ENOUGH AS A TEAM… SICK OF IT !…

I would look at the ref's after every whistle if I had to play a game vs probably one of the dirtiest teams in the league too.. how many elbows, forearms, trips, punches and crosschecks to unprotected body parts are they supposed to take in 1 game? Keep the hits clean(ARMS DOWN NOT UP) and play hockey. I feel for Dallas rookies cause the actions of these clowns are doing nothing but painting targets on there backs.

What a impressive win . Puts things into prospective when they try they will win. Willie this year is playing hard and is bring out his bad of tricks. We are finishing checks playing fast. Toronto got 8 powerplays, they should've done much more than barely scratch out a win in OT. 16 minutes of PP time, nearly a full period. Toronto had 4 forwards with over 10 minutes of PP ToI. If Toronto didn't win, I'd be highly concerned.

Do you know why guys like Kucherov, Cirelli and Point can be "fiesty" and "mean"? It's because there have always been guys on the Lightning who will back them up. This is something the Leafs simply do not have. When someone like Bunting - who only drops the gloves when there are refs holding him - starts some shenanigans it becomes open season on his linemates if the pushing and shoving starts.

I agree that Fun Mitch is a better player, but Rattled Mitch gives me hope. Maybe he and the rest of the young, elite talent are really starting to get down on themselves, maybe they are finally realizing that us fans are tired, running out of patience...maybe Rattled Mitch is getting angry, pissed off and wanting more for the Leafs? I do not know why Simmonds and Clifford are not playing?? I do not see why ZAR and Kubel are needed. They are on the ice for goals against at an alarming rate and I do not see what they bring. They are occupying contracts and a spot on the roster for a better player!!!!

Not surprised one bit when I saw that cheap shot to the back of Matthews by Jamie Benn. After all, he ended Dylan Larkin's season two seasons ago with a similar chop to the back of Dylan's neck. Too bad none of the other Leafs paid this back.

My opinion on the whole Mitch situation is yeah ur not wrong but at the same time it took him NINE games last year to score last year & in 5 games last year he had 1 point & in 5 games this year he has 4 points but I understand you are talking about his overall playing & honestly I think he's going to get back into the swing of things soon.. I think if he doesn't change within 10 games then we have a problem but again I tend to not worry this early into the season

I can’t help but think the 10lbs Marner put on in the off-season is having an affect early. He def looks slower and not as agile. It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s part of the issue.
