Just bought this TV a month ago. Coming from a mid tier 2019 LED from LG, which I thought looked pretty good, i was mind blown. Have rewatched all my favorite content on this TV and the experience has been amazing - OLED is NOT overrated. OLED really takes you to another level with immersion, especially for films because you get to dim the lights, and the blacks are blacks, you dont get disrtracted by any blooming, and it has that contrast that makes it look more 3D. I actually ordered the Hisense U8N because apparently had amazing contrast, but quickly cancelled the shipment before it arrived, and decided to go with this to avoid any compromises. Like if you're going to have a TV for many years, and you do enjoy Movies and tv watching as a family activity during the weekneds, it is worth spending a bit more. Its expensive, but not too crazy expensive. If you have the ability to buy one comfortably, just go for it.
No tv will beat the longevity of my tv of 35 years and still going. I want this tv...but it's like chucking my grandmother in the trash if I bought it lol
@@rpospeedwagon he wasn't upgrading from a OLED, he was upgrading from an LCD to an OLED. your C9 is awesome and has almost all the same features as the C4. unless u need a brighter tv, keep your C9, the c9 can do over 800 nits in a 10% window, thats excellent.
If someone thinks of buying a Scamsung S90D, before doing that, check if that TV has QD-OLED or WOLED. If it has WOLED, don't even think to buy the Samsung one, just get the LG. 42", 48" and 83" are 100% LG Display (as they are the only manufacturers for such displays). In some regions 55" is panel lottery, and 77" 100% is also LG Display (again, in some Regions, like in Europe, Romania). Here in Romania, the WOLED S90D's ends in AEXXH, while QD-OLED S90D's ends in ATXXH. Also, I've seen the same model numbers for other European countries too. So, for my European fellas, avoid the AEXXH models, and get the C4.
Thanks for the update Caleb. However, based on your recommendation we upgraded from our old 55" Sony Bravia 720p to an LG C3 65" TV for abut $1400. Obviously we are stunned. Sports & movies are crazy good. Thanks for doing my research for me and pointing us to a fantastic TV & save us a ton of money.
Upgraded my living room tv from a 4K LED 65 inch to an LG C3 77 inch 6 months ago and it’s been an absolute joy watching anything on it. If you can comfortably afford getting an OLED tv for your living room I seriously don’t know why you wouldn’t make the upgrade!
I just bought a 65" C3 a month ago. I think any improvements or enhancements weren't worth the extra $900 they wanted for the C4. I'm not disappointed at all nor do I regret my decision.
I bought a 55" C3 a month ago and it is amazing. I suspect the C4 is marginally better, but I got an amazing deal on the C3. The HDR feels amazing compared with my 5 year old LED TV. The picture is superb. No regrets at all 😁
I also bought my C3 65"about a month+ ago. Ive been waiting for my eye to get used to how awesome the picture looks to where I dont notice it, yet I am still constantly aware of how incredible the picture is. I was actually wondering what his thought would be on the difference between the C3 and C4. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the difference?
The C4 can actually hit 1000nits peak brightness which is sort of like a milestone when it comes to HDR standards. C3 gets up to about 820 ISH. In real world content I don't know if you'll notice massive differences but it is a significant boost on paper. So I can understand the premium they are charging
I've got the 48" LG C4 from Cotsco this week for $699, I'm using it as a monitor, is my first OLED and I'm blown away with the picture quality of this thing, is incredible, definitively getting the 77'' for the entertainment room, thank you for the review.
The LG C4 is a great TV. Perhaps its only shortcoming is the noticeable green tint the screen exhibits when viewed from an angle, as documented by the RTINGS review of this model.
The Sony Bravia 8 has the same green tint problem. RTINGS documented it on their review of the Sony Bravia 8. Also the LG B4 has the green tint problem. Rtings documented this as well. It's sad. LG Display seems to have screwed up their panel production this year. I wish Caleb would have mentioned it because it can be seen in his video. Whites have a greenish cast instead of the usual woled bluish cast. To me that's a very serious flaw. I wouldn't buy any woled TVs this year because of it.
@@futureaceone3971 If I were buying a WOLED TV this year, it would probably be the LG G4, but since it is much more expensive I would definitely wait until Black Friday sales to see if it becomes available at a reduced price.
Yes I really wish he would have commented on this issue and whether he saw it on his review unit. Heard that it’s only an issue in the c4 series and not on the c3 series. If that’s true it may not be the tv for everyone.
Thanks I'm assuming this is across the board of all oled tvs this year? I wanted to buy a new tv this year but (I'll but a cheap 2nd hand one) ill give it a miss until they get their panel production sorted.@futureaceone3971
I have been watching this video since it came out and I was convinced to get this TV when he said “I just wish that everyone can have this TV”. Yesterday I bought it and I can say I have no regrets. The green tint people are talking about when viewing from angles is nonexistent basically. The HDR content is spectacular and to be honest, yes it is dimmer but in a dark room it can blind you. If you still have doubts about this TV, I can guarantee that you’re gonna be more than happy when you buy it.
I picked up a 65" LG C4 a few days ago and it has the green tint. I think this issue is more common than people realize. I even checked the display model at the local store and it had the same issue. The salesman called it color degradation and acted like it was normal. Try pausing a picture with faces and lighter background colors and walk to the side and see what it does to the picture. It looks fine when viewing it straight on if that's all you need.
I recently bought the LG C3 55 inch tv. I love it, it's an excellent tv. I don't quite get that "magic motion" feature on the remote. Not sure if I missed out on much by not buying the most recent model but I got a very good deal, and Amazon delivered to my apt., unboxed, set up and turned on the set for $30. I am happy I bought this tv with it's amazing picture!
i have this TV now, as of a couple of days ago. Our TCL 6 series died in less than 3 years. Our Vizio prior to that died in less than 3 years. Our current Hisense U8H died in less than TWO years. I have stories of the same from several friends. I gave up, spent the money, and bought a higher end TV for once and hopefully it lasts longer than a couple of years. This one looks amazing for sure!
I'm OLDer and TVs back in the 1960s lasted forever! We usually just upgraded to colour, then newer models, etc. Back then there was actual craftsmanship, pride in our work, and not everything was made in China!
My 2020 Hisense H9G just died a couple days ago after only 4yrs. It was said at the time to be the best gaming TV under $1000. I'm pretty annoyed. I plan to also spend more and hope the next one lasts longer.
@@makaiokalahama The more I post this issue on either forums, here, and reddit, the more people are telling stories about TCL and Hisense TVs lasting a very short amount of time. Bummer. I hate the idea of disposable electronics like big ass TVs. I have contacted Hisense twice now too for a warranty repair and no response.
Recently picked one of these up for merely the cost of my Best Buy protection plan. My C9 from 2019 had the most minor burn in possible (and only under certain colors) so they exchanged it for me. Pretty nice upgrade overall. Though I will say the cost cutting is obvious when you compare it to the C9 (C9 has a huge stand, more inputs, better remote, attractive backside with finish, sits lower, better power button) I'm ok with all that because I know the tech/panel is cutting edge and the 144Hz was a nice bonus. Best monitor ever.
I've got the C9, But the upper side of the panel just become off-white(the pixles are off) . And my warranty just passed so i need to buy a new one. do you recommend the C4 ? cuz I'm not shore I wannna stay with LG.
@@sheqse Sounds like panel lotto to me, but upgrading to the current model was the easiest choice I've ever made and frankly saved me a ton of time. There was a comparable Sony model for a bit more, but they aren't as good for PC/gaming use. Just get the C4 open box or not from best buy with the 5 year plan and use the hell out of it. Also don't forget a lot of other companies will be using this same LG panel anyway.
Bought this in May, and haven’t looked back since! Best electronics decision ever made! Best part is i got it under sale in Malaysia with the 48” for USD750!
Watching this on the LG C4 I bought 3 months ago. I switched from a 2020 4K LED and it is definitely a worth decision. I also think the sound is not as what you expected from this kind of TV, but I’ve been using Sony soundbar since my last TV anyway.
Thanks to the LG C4/G4 the C3 model got a huge price cut and pulled the trigger. This is my first Oled TV and...my God, I just can't go back to LCD lol. One of the best purchases EVER!
I'm watching my 65" Bravia as I type this (it's my Classic Mac Pro's external monitor), and a few weeks ago, I was at Andres Electronics and the OLEDs were DEF at another level of quality!
So true! I fell in love with The C4 at P.C. Richards tonight. I have an LG OLED from either ‘21 or ‘22. 55”. Love it. The older one is going upstairs to Dad whom is using up a very old Samsung LED tv that looks like Coke cans are all over the screen.😂 I can’t wait to see His reaction when He sees what an OLED looks like. I’ll have My C4 on Thursday! Can’t wait! Great review!
Not the best price ever, but I found a 48" C4 at Costco. I bought the TCL QM8 75" for the living room from best buy in Feb, but wanted a nice smaller tv for the bedroom. Wanted a 55" but the 48" was $700 with included 3 year warranty and the 55" was like $1300 or something like that. I actually like both my TV's having really good, but uniquely different pictures. LG looks crisp as hell. Perfect for night time movies. I will say the tcl UI and remote is superior overall. Have to train my brain on the different remotes, but the lg doesn't light up and I have a harder time feeling the buttons. All the money went into the wii pointer functionality Funny side story, the 48" barely fit in the trunk in my tiny Subaru 2nd gen BRZ (one of the smallest cars on the market). I ended up bending the trunk frame by the rubber weatherstripping gasket a bit, and tearing the gasket. Oops. I ended up slowly shimmying it little by little from the inside. Didn't notice till I went to close the trunk. I had to cut the box open from inside, and carry it out of the car, to prevent bending the thin aluminum more. I was upset but also laughing at the absurdity of it. People at the costco parking lot and even my neighbors coming home were like "wtf". Only time I've ever needed a bigger car, is when I am buying TV's 😂
Bought LG C4 83 inch today, waiting for delivery. Have LG B1 55 inch from before. Its gonna be awesome 😊 Hopefully 98 inch oleds will be affordble in not so many years.
Still rocking the 55-inch LG CX from few years ago. No burn in...yet(fingers crossed). Going great for both movie watching & PS5 gaming. Only issue is that I wish it was 65-inch & a bit more brighter. Not a huge deal though & no plans to upgrade anytime soon.
I bought the 48 inch version of this one. I got a great sale price at Costco of $1100. I actually use it on my desk as a monitor with the black background documents literally look like they’re floating in air. I do have my Apple TV and Xbox also hooked into it. Very happy post purchase satisfaction.
Glad for your timely review! Planning on my 65 inch - 2020 LG CX replacement later in the fall. My daughter’s family wants the CX even with 14,000 hours on it. The replacement C4 though will be an upgrade to 77 inches which will be a better fit given the room it will be situated in now that I have experienced the 65 inch size. Question: Did you see any “green tint” - off angle - as noted by RTINGS or is that something LG got fixed with their strong product support updates?
Thank you Caleb, I really value your reviews and enjoy your style. Could you please do a comparison of the LG C4 to the Samsung S90D soon? I’ve narrowed my shopping choices to these two and would love to hear your thoughts.
I was about to buy the 77" C4, but luckily I was able to see it running in a store in my town, I didn't like the greenish tint when I viewded it from angles, meaning you can tell as soon as you move away from the center. Instead, I got 77" C3 , it looks amazing and doesn't have that greenish tint problem. I know C4 have some new and better features, but I was able to save some money and there aren't huge diferences between the two models.
Just got a 65-inch on sale at Best Buy for 1699 yesterday. Coming from a 65-inch Vizio p series qantum. I can say I'm astounded at the quality difference, screen uniformity, and the sound!! Oled is the way to go.
As the other guys said you need to ring best buy to get $200 back from them as it's now 1499. I did the same thing today for the C4 that arrived 3 or 4 days ago.
Just bought this 2 weeks ago. It's a very good improvement over my old LG CX. Using CX daily and updating the correct settings on this made it instantly noticeable, especially the brightness for HDR content. Its a lot brighter than im used to but its solid for day time HDR movies aswell. Gaming mode is a lot brighter than CX and feels more sharp and detailed
Interesting! I actually just posted a question about comparing these new C4's to the CX from 2020. I have a 65" CX. Sounds like in your experience, it's a pretty noticeable difference.
@TheMNbassHunter Yeah even though you see the constant 'its not as bright as the G series' It is noticeably brighter than CX for games and movies too. I need to put the brightness down at times when watching HDR stuff at night. Its 1000 nits of brightness. The image quality is definitely better. Its an updated chip from the CX. Overall very happy with it as an upgrade to my CX. I had the CX for around 4 years
I would love to see a comparison of the LG OLEDs over the years. I have a 77" CX, and want to know which one I should upgrade to.....which is the best bang for buck and why? Just higher brightness or?
Of all the reviews, both positive and negative, this one stands true. Took the plunge and couldn't be happier. Went from a 2019 Samsung LED and am absolutely blown away. OLED is a game changer! Our TV is perpendicular to a north facing sliding glass door and faces another window. Have always struggled with glare and viewing angles. This LG C4 is plenty bright enough and crystal clear in all lighting conditions. Glare is no longer a distraction, and we have not had to pull our blinds shut a single time! Set the picture to Expert Bright Space Daytime and Energy Saving Off and that's it! We have a soundbar, but without, the TV audio is not as terrible as expected, especially in AI Sound Pro mode. Even if OLED wears out in time, I hope this LG will still outlast our past two Samsung TVs. Have always been a Samsung person but their quality and reliability have gone downhill. That said, we have two Samsungs from 2009 that are still going strong. Only time will tell in this 'built to fail' generation. Thank you, Digital Trends, for a dependable review!
Samsung has good customer service! I had an issue with a 43" and they fixed it promptly no charge! I forgot what the issue was as it was about 20 years ago.
Got this deal too. Wish they stocked or carried the 42in for a similar price. I literally could not let the 699 48in deal pass up, I think these will be sought after in a few years and retain their value. Basically got a 1200 tv for 700, with 3 year warranty. Win!
The lack of a 3.0 tuner is a problem for those who get local news and sports via antenna particularly if they're in a fringe or multipath area. It also offers 1080P instead of 720 on Fox & ABC. This and that I got a 65" A80CL delivered for 1499 with 5 year warranty is why I went with Sony. Also the better processing and Netflix calibrated mode.
@@markholmes1158 Already have that. But that's another box and another remote. This shouldn't be necessary for a 2024 TV when plenty 2023 TVs had 3.0 tuners. Sony, Hisense, etc..
Great review! Sounds like you're a Roku and Apple TV fan. Have you had a go with the Nvidia Shield? I've abandoned my Roku's for the Shield on all my TV's.
I have a OLED55C7P-U from 2017. We had lots of Problems from the start...the panel had to be replaced due to a software glitch with pixel refresher after approximately 4 months...I made LG cover the new panel and not Best Buy as that would destroy my 5 year Warranty. So lastly after about 4 years with the C7, we had heavy screen burn...in particular with Magenta colors. Fulfilled my warranty and wondering if I should get this one? No more analog input, so I'll have to get a cheapy one from Amazon. Burn in is a big factor, but OLED is gorgeous.
I was at the local Best Buy here in Canada and was comparing C3 vs Bravia 8. I am a big fan of Sony and was almost disappointed C3 looked so good. Problem was, they were out of stock since it’s a last year’s model and C4 was more expensive than Bravia 8. This morning, or should I say 15 min ago I checked the new prices, and C4 is now on even better sale than Bravia 8 making it cheaper than Sony. Came here to check on your review and really appreciate it. With the BB warranty, I don’t mind not getting LG’s 5 year panel protection as I should be covered by BB warranty. I found C3 to have better connectivity than Sony and TV just looks spectacular. This will be my first LG TV ever and I am hoping built quality and longevity will not disappoint. I am coming from a 9 year old Samsung 8 series 4K led tv and I am sure this will be a major upgrade. Any LG or TV nerds, please feel free to confuse me even more if I should not worry about the purchasing of a LG TV or if Sony Bravia 8 is still a better panel.
Quick update, BB made me a great deal on G4. I am on the second panel now, just got it yesterday after getting a faulty panel, and guess what, new one has burned pixels, like a whole thin line running along the right hand side of the screen. I think there’s an issue with quality control on LGs side and I will be returning it purchasing the Sony.
I bought the 42" model to use as Monitor (I upgraded from my 42" C2) and it looks fantastic, I just really REALLY wish that LG would put the MLA on the smaller models too, this would have been THE ultimate 42" model then.
As fate would have it, I was in BB today and had an hour to kill. So off to LG tv land I went. C4 on top. G4 on the bottom. IMHO there was a quite noticeable difference. More saturation but more importantly, a depth I couldn’t put my finger on. Not 3D level but depth nonetheless. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Damnitall 😂
I will def buy LG , got myself a Samsung S95B a year and half ago and have not been happy with it from day one. My parents LG C1 just seems to have something that the Samsung lacks , maybe it’s the processing, the LG picture signature is more appealing to me even though mine is technically more advanced with the QDOLED technology.
Hey Caleb, what’s the best OLED to purchase to watch hockey games since you mentioned to look elsewhere instead of the C4? Also I game a lot on my PS5/XBOX SERIES X. TIA
Would you go with an LG C4 or G4 if you watch TV 10 hours a day ( shows news, sports, movies) and the news channels 3 hours a day. Concerned about burn in issues and longevity...
I had the C2 for a couple years, but due to unfortunate circumstances I don't have it anymore. I'm in the market for a new TV now, and my budget is lower, but I'm having a REALLY hard time not trying to justify buying another LG OLED. I honestly might get the 42" and just sit closer so I can still have one. The C2 was the best TV I ever owned, without a doubt.
Im still loving and getting complements on my LG C9. Its time to get a second TV and ofc im going LG again this will be another amzing TV. As someone who put 870hrs on COD , 500hrs+ hours on GTA 5 and 600hrs on Destiny 2, plus falling alseep with youtube paused there is still no burn in almost 5 years later with the C9, the C4 should be no different.
My first 55C9 OLED is still going strong with +5000 hours with zero burn-in (no gaming). I do have a 77C1 and 55C1 in other rooms and the 55C9 is noticeable slower to start and entering into streaming services. Once in, zero differences between the newer OLEDs in picture quality.
I can't believe the price of OLEDs these days. In 2016 I spent £2,300 on a C6 and it is still going strong and has never once crashed or caused an issue, and it still wows me every time I watch something! Now look how far they've come and are nearly half the price I paid! I would get a C4 in an instant if I wanted to upgrade from LCD for instance.
need some advice. Coming from a 2018 65'" c8. Moving a to a bigger condo (2x the size) corner unit with a lot more sunlight. I don't find my current c8 dim but it could be brighter in sdr. Considering either a 77 G4 or settle for a C4. I use a shield pro to consume my content 95% in SDR. Not sure which one to get but I know i'm loyal to LG.
If brightness is a concern go ahead and get the G4. The TV you have and the c-series are honestly basically the same TV Sure you're getting "different generation panel", put the changes by the panel manufacturer year to year are very small. It essentially be getting the same TV and personally if you're spending $2,000 I'd rather have something with a real improvement and not just better processing The g4 has MLA so there's legitimately something that was changed and improved. Also idk if you know about the 113111 code, but you can really juice up the look of SDR content using that menu with your shield pro. You can make sdr MUCH brighter and more colorful by forcing it into HLG mode.
I'm still rocking my CX (from mainly your review) and love it. I wish it were a bit brighter, but it's hard for me to justify dropping all that money on a new TV. Moving this 65" would feel overkill for any other room.
Great timing for this review to come out!! Labor Day specials just launched and there are some really good deals out!! I’ve been researching the new mini led 85”s to death convinced that the size and brightness were my biggest wants. However… I’ve recently come to realize that the things I don’t like about my Q90C just can’t be much better on any of the new miniLeds :/ That said, I think I’ve decided that for my personal bedroom tv, the best choice is gonna be an OLED.. I wish the G4 but 83” is way too much $$, the 77” is on a crazy good deal on lug partner site, but the real deals are on the C4!! 🎉 after all of my tons of hours researching TVs… I have to agree with you on this “take” the C4 is the best all around Tv for most people especially when on sale!! Plus you get Dolby vision and more importantly dts!! 🎉thank you Caleb and team!
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
that was very good Caleb, I think you should put speakers inside that console that you have the TVs standing on. like the old units from the 50s and 60s. 👍
Literally just pulled the trigger on a C4 earlier today. Best Buy has it on sale right now for $2,200! That’s $1,300 off msrp!! I couldn’t pass that up! This C4 will be replacing an A80J that I’ve had for 2 years now. Honestly, the A80J is a great TV, but the lack of HDMI 2.1 on all ports along with the sluggishness of the TV in general made me go back to LG. I had a C9 prior to the A80J that I gave to my in-law and every time I see that TV in her house, I just prefer the picture it has…. It has better color saturation compared to the A80J and the picture is just slightly more pleasant to look at. Not gonna say I regret getting the Sony because that processing power is serious and the clarity is phenomenal! But I’m looking forward to getting a LG back! Especially now that I have a PC and can fully take advantage of the LGs gaming power! Also highly curious to see Filmmaker Mode as I’ve that it’s excellent!
I have a 55C9 in master bedroom and looking to upgrade to 65C4. The 55C9 was replaced with a 77C1 a few years ago in family room. The C9 picture is still excellent and very similar to my 77C1 other than the C9 being a bit slower to enter streaming apps and navigate OLED menus.
Between the 83 inch LG C4 on sale for $4,000 and the 83 inch LG G3 on sale for $4,700, which would you recommend. Thanks you in advance and I appreciate and enjoy all your content!
At 83" size, this is really the only option as Samsung and Sony don't really have competitive offerings. I'll be picking one up at Black Friday unless I can pick up a C3 but those are becoming rare.
I use a Fire TV 4K stick or 4k player, so I'll never use WebOS apart from the popup settings menu for picture modes etc... so the ads are a none issue. Looking at the 77" C4 end of the year purchase 👍. Also if your spending this much on a TV, your going to be using a soundbar or HT setup worth enough to match that image quality or your doing the TV a disservice.
Upgraded from an obviously old Samsung plasma 60. The 1080p picture was still great but I wanted HDMI 2.1 and eARC. 4K was a bonus. Went to the box store to buy the Samsung S90D. Ended up getting the LG C4 65 at the same price. It was a back-and-forth decision but I felt that the LG had a slightly better picture. Silly as it may seem, the real tie breaker was the remote as (a) it had a source button and (2) it can point and click!. After a period of second guessing my decision to leave the Samsung brand, I'm thrilled with the decision to go with the LG C4. The only negative that I'm aware of is that it does not support HDR10+ but that's not weighted very heavily as I'm not sure that my eyes would be able to discern the difference. Plenty of eye candy just the way it is.
I know they aren't in the same budget ball park, but rtings compared this to the Bravia 9 in a recent video to see if the Bravia 9 could compete with midtier oleds, and it cemented for me I need to waste more money for the Bravia. The scene where wine is poured into a glass for example during their comparison, or the color of the strawberries, made me understand I really value that HDR increase and that I just always seem to have an issue with colors of oled TVs.
I just bought a LG C4 based on this review. Retired our glorious Panasonic 50 in. Plasma. OLED is far superior. There are lots of settings and filmmaker mode seems best. Had issue with Sony Blueray player, filled the screen image with "millions" of fireflys. Discovered a menu on the Blueray player to adjust output to 4K and disable 24p upscaling. Complaint on this is LG is impossible to "register" or accept "terms of service", thus it would not do "over the air" scan, nor authorize the many aps. I had to find a RU-vid video to show steps to tweak Wi-fi settings and change DNS, etc. and that worked. I got the 55 inch due to TV placement, and it's a beauty.
PS> had I known how the "Web OS" is and the pain in the *** to register or set it up, I would have spend more money on the Bravia 8 or something comparable. I had to tweak my wifi setup at home to lock the tv to just one access point, apparently having three Ubiquiti AP's somehow confused the tv so it kept failing to load aps which can't happen until you sign in and agree to terms which it was almost impossible to do. Otherwise the picture quality is out of this world. Hope the OS improves but I have nothing to compare it to since this is my first new TV in 14 years.
hey Caleb, thanks for a great review 👍thinking of grabbing one of these but I have a query, can I place a Sonos Beam in front of the stand without it blocking either the screen or any infrared signal in regards to the remote control? thanks 😃
Caleb, will say the same thing next year about the C5! How do I know, he said similar metaphors about the C3. It's great, I'm sure, but your 3 year TV is just as good.
you can still increase color volume .Probably without new materials it will be hard for WOLED and QD-OLED to improve their Rec 2020 scores, Both these techs and LCD can produce lovely bright , saturated colors. But it's the hues ( wavelengths ) that are missing. Most content except cartoons, games not affected , unless a TV boosts spread for you, Real life examples really colorful sunsets, rainbows, prisms, emeralds, sapphires, iridescent insect wings, oil spills, some exotic plants and some burning metals . So Rec 2020 increases color graduations ie hues, I think violets are hard to reproduce from memory. Again made be moot if watch old technicolor movies, or if your color vision is so so. I always find it funny old audiophiles worrying about high treble, when they can't hear it - they are lucky to still hear 16-17000 hertz let alone 22 0000. In isolation all these TVs are colorful, you won't know what you are missing, if don't have a S95D right next to be for specific content . LG C series sells well as most people are really happy . Most people also love big screen Hisense. TCL 85' -100" monsters . To put it in perspective a C4 if released 3 years ago , would be raved about as the greatest TV ever - no MLA , no QD-OLED . Content has never looked so good , this is the nearly the perfect TV !!!
@@nimblegoat I had always been in awe of LG’s balanced approach with Color Saturation: Sony’s Accuracy and realism coupled with Samsung’s Bright Saturation… It’s like one found a Haven between the 2 polar opposites.
@@hastensavoir7782 Yeah a nice balance. Think Samsung will bring MLA tech either next year or year after. This is only a small part of the market, most people buy LCD. I still have a plasma, I know HDR looks spectacular but still love my panasonic. I will buy next year in sales. Still undecided if best 65" and wait 4 years to go big , or just get the best 83" next year. Money is not an issue for me, which I am grateful for , but I won't pay a silly price for say B10 83" ( ie a Sony QD-OLED 83" if it comes next year ) , as TVs will be getting better for another 10 years at least . But I know a C4 83" is really good enough to buy and just enjoy ( I watch in darken room )
Are amzon firesticks fine to use with these new TVs? I see you in videos saying get an apple tv or a roku don't mention firestick. Is there a reason for that?
I bought an LG C3 and Samsung S90C both 77”. I had 4K FIRE STICK on S90C and APPLE 4K TV on the LG C3. I see no difference in Film maker mode in upscaling or picture quality between the two watching HULU, MAX etc… .. BUT … the LG C3 was noticeably dim looking on everything and the S90C had a brighter image making scenes more impactful. Just gave an overall brighter background image to scenes and gave better contrast. I decided to switch the APPLE TV the S90C and put FIRESTICK on the LG C3 to see if anything changed….. WOW… the LG got noticeably brighter no longer dim at all on same movies and scenes. WHY????? I then decided to put both devices on LG C3 on different inputs and played same content from same apps and switched between the two inputs and without any doubt the APPLE TV has a way dimmer image on my LG. Does anyone know why? Also they are both very similar in motion except when watching Football the LG on SMOOTH motion is pretty good where as S90C I can’t get it to not look fluttery.
For movies and sports C4 definitetly. This is a high praise coming from me, I got S90C. For gaming and movies S90C or S90D. The S90C and S90D has faulty motion, 5:5 pulldown specifcily, need to use Apple TV / Google TV with Gaming Mode / 60Hz mode on ATV/GTV or noticeable amount of dejudder. Which makes my S90C really have to turn up de-judder for sports and it still does not work well, I also could not fix perfect setting for movies. Have to go into settings for each content. Meanwhile on LG, you set it and forget it, but C4 looks tad worse in gaming mode than S90C or S90D.
Honestly I think you should totally skip audio as part of these reviews. It's 2024 and if you're buying a TV this nice, you should have a soundbar paired with it at the minimum. Even if it's wall mounted, you can hang a soundbar to the TV mount below the screen easily.
I have been using the LG C1 as my gaming monitor and it has some burnin but I had the warranty to cover that so they are going to be replacing it with something of similar price. I am leaning towards the LG Ultragear 32 inch 240 hz 32GS95UE since I found the 48 inch (which was smallest oled you could get at the time) is a bit too big, 42 inch is a little smaller but I feel 32 inch might be more optimal but I am kinda not sure if I should just do the tv or the monitor. The biggest reason I wanted smaller is because of chat windows and ui elements being in corners and having to look around alot more. Any opinions on if you could replace an LG C1 for a computer monitor with the 32 inch ultragear or the 42 inch C4 which would probably be the better option?
I just bought it to replace my 6 year old 65” LG Oled. It does have better picture and is brighter. It’s just not bright enough for a bright room and has glare. At night, it has beautiful picture.
I had to mount OLED on an articulating wall mount to adjust the 77C1 down/away from normal day or night light glare (windows, doors, overhead lights, lamps, etc...). It really improved viewing in a bright room and the OLED looks the same in every seat because of the TV's ultra wide viewing angle.
