I actually love the WebOS and it's one of the reasons I picked my C3 over Sony and Samsung TVs at the same price points. LG is the best mostly because they keep improving their picture processing and technology and execute Dolby Vision properly as well. Samsung could be the king if they focused on picture processing and acquired Dolby Vision licensing.
Now more than ever… a showdown review between the Sony A95L and the LG G4 is needed. I am literally waiting to hear how Caleb weighs in before I make my purchase. Please, please, please do this showdown ASAP!
So how come Caleb is only getting 397 nits in a 10% window and ratings is getting 1,404 nits in a 10% window? Can someone explain what he means by "these numbers are meaningless"? I understand AI helps, but don't these tests show how bright the TV can get on an all white window? what am I missing? thanks in advanced.
I need help with upgrading to the G4. I have a 65 inch LG G1 and I want to upgrade to the G4. How can I sell it? or are there companies that allows me to upgrade?
I’ve been following this industry for decades. There’s a review embargo and all you’re getting are Sony talking points. Wait a month or so and notice how reviewers will start casually saying it’s not as good as OLED because of the reasons we already know…
Great review! I am an owner of an 83" OLED G4 and S95TR matching Sound Bar - overall very happy, however is anyone experiencing weird sound issues when connected wirelessly via "WOW Orchestra" where you here the sound cut out for a millisecond randomly over time? Like it appears to the ear as a "cut out / popping" sound - it's driving me insane! Please escalate with LG if you think you might be able to help get this issue to their attention!
Caleb you need to stop this, my house is starting to look like a Bestbuy! lol. The older models, like the A95L should still be in the contest. If an older tv wins best tv of the year, then so be it!
I bought my XM5 at the end of March. By the beginning of May they stopped working. They say they’re fully charged, 5 seconds later they say they’re low on battery, but will not charge. I’ve reset and hard reset. It’s a physical battery issue. And I spent almost £300 for the privilege 🤦🏼♀️ Gone back to XM4 whilst they get sent off for repair. 🙄 The headband also feels far more secure on the XM4s. I had so many issues with the XM3s. Sony replaced 4 pairs. Yes 4. Because they kept experiencing battery issues. So I was so worried spending more money with Sony headsets but the noise cancelling is something I can’t do without. And my worries were confirmed, even thought there was a 2 generation gap between the XM3s and XM5s 🙄
A bigger QLed is definitely better than a smaller Oled. Especially with the modern Qleds they have closed the quality gap soo small that size is what most people are gonna prefer. It’s really amazing how much more immersive an 85 is to a 65in.
watch out, 1 more are scammers, i bought the penta driver came faulty, they will not respond to any emails, been trying since February very dodgy website 1 more . keep well away from them Reply
They need to deal with the annoying black bars ( upper and lower) for wider screen movies. Why not they come up with an innovation on display panel technology - that can auto transform itself to stretch on bothe sides of 16:9 display to make it a 2.35:1 display. With our investments we always lose 30% of screen video area in our 50% average movie viewing time.
I cancelled my cable tv service in 2023 and bought an amazon fire cube. I then cancelled several apps/channels that I was not watching very often. Finally, I bought a Motorola modem and returned my Comcast modem. I have not signed up for a live tv streaming service such as Sling TV, RU-vid TV, etc. Because of these steps I am saving approximately $100.00 a month vs what I was paying when I had cable.
I just bought this u8k.65" tv..I don't have a calman or ability to know if My unit is defective with the filmmaker mode lowering brightness..Has Hisense reviewed the returned unit and supported Your findings? Most of us buying this unit need to know if these tv's are defective..Thanks..bill
One thing to be aware of with MSI is their RMA process is strictly through the retailer. So if you need to claim on the warranty it has to be through the retailer. It's a right pain in the arse and has quite a few potential pitfalls. If you are going to buy MSI it;s probably best to buy from a retailer that you feel confident will exist for the warranty period and has good customer service.
I dont think TV brands need to be improved year after year if theres not much improvement that can be done. I bought a 85" Z9K even after Sony announced their 2024 lineup because it will still be the 8K model and Master Series for this year, and that TV still performs better than most high end 2024 model TVs
I first bought a qn90b which had dirt inside the panel, got the panel replaced for one with bad pixels, so they gave me my money back. I bought a qn90c with dead pixels, got the panel replaced twice and never got one with perfect pixels. They replaced it with a new one, but now I'm noticing dead pixels again. I think I will buy LG next.
Dude, I have not finished washing the video yet but I will and I’m looking forward to learning just say the way you’re doing this is fantastic. You have a great voice and very articulate so I woke you to RU-vid. I hope you do more videos. I have definitely subscribed, let me show you one thing I’m not blowing sunshine. I think you are all that! Kudos you, my friend sincerely some guy named Ira.❤
Picture quality still looks a bit better on the Sony A95L to me… my eye likes the color on the Sony… blues on the Sony look aqua to me on the LG… skin tones on the LG seem to have more white in them while Sony’s skin tones look warmer. That’s with no adjustments, just out of the box, on the floor. Does anybody else see it this way?
Caleb I enjoy your take on the industry and your TV reviews I find are spot on. My question is why can't I find any specks or reviews on tuner signal to noise ratio? I use an indoor amplified antenna and signal is important. Which model Sony has the strongest tuner? I like the 90, the new 7 or the oled?
