Hello, Tony. Yes, you can use Cascade liquid detergent in an LG dishwasher. LG recommends using detergents intended for use in automatic dishwashers and not using dish/hand soap designed for washing dishes in the kitchen sink. However, using too much automatic dishwashing detergent may leave a film on the dishes. If this is the case, run an extra rinse to wash the film off of the dishes. -Junel

Hi, @akiki5332. Yes, you can use tablets in the dispenser of an LG dishwasher. The dispenser compartments for LG dishwashers are located on the door, and you can add detergents by pushing the button next to the compartment door to open it. LG recommends using different types of detergents, including powders, gels, tablets, and single-use packs. Some dishwasher detergent tablets may become stuck in the dispenser due to their excessive size. In such cases, you can place the tablets onto the base of the wash tub next to the filter before starting the cycle. It's important to use only detergent intended for dishwashers and to avoid using dish soap as it may cause suds and poor wash performance. Hello - I cannot for the life of me find an LG model in the U.S. that has the water softener container in the bottom to add salt to? The UK models all have this! I have emailed/tweeted/Facebook messaged LG support and no-one seems to know which LG model would have this feature? I know Bosch makes one with it and I have very hard well water so I need this feature. Does any (USA) LG model have this?
at 1:54 in this video bottom left is the feature I am looking for - the round lid holds salt for water softening - can anyone at LG please tell me the model # of the dishwasher used in this video?
@@nolwheezy1008 Thank you so much - I am not seeing this on the LG site? Is it available in the US? I cant get LG support to answer me and I really do need this feature being on hard well water.
DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG OR LG DISHWASHERS WASHERS OR DRYERS! They are computer generated JUNK. Get a older Whirlpool Maytag Kitchen-aid JENNAIR Kenmore anything Whirlpool owned is generally very reliable especially the older you go, with far less ridiculous sensors and electronics in them, especially washers do not buy new washers they have been corrupted by Unnecessary High Efficiency sensors and computers and lid locks.

@@LGUSASupport It doesn't have a quick rinse cycle. The ON button turns the machine on half the time when my hand goes near it. It takes 2 1/2 hours to wash!

That is the STUPIDEST ADVICE EVER to tell consumers to just throw a detergent pac at the bottom of the tub if it don’t fit in the cup, there’s a dispenser for a REASON. And that reason is because the dishwasher wants to release the detergent at a specific point in the cycle, because all dishwashers run at least one pre rinse cycle before it releases the detergent cup open for the next fill which is the main wash. So by putting the detergent in the bottom of the tub it’s being flushed down the drain in the first few minutes of the short pre wash cycle to tackle the tough stuff first. So your main wash cycle will be pointless. This is why you don’t buy an LG when they give you advice as stupid as that one
