I only discovered G3 after my G4 bootlooped. Actually G3 is better phone than G4, much more reliable and also customizable due to unlocked bootloader

G3 was my second phone. Even after Nokia windows phone, lg stylo, S6 edge, Note 8, S10+, and now my S20 ultra I still look back at my my G3 and say it's the best phone I've ever had!

Still got my G3 since 2015. It died in 2019. I replaced the screen this week, assuming that's what it needed. Thank God that's all that was wrong. Still on Android 6 and working on T-Mobile. 🤓 Feels as nice as when new. Love its camera. Easy to get sharp pics. Currently got a 7T Pro 5G McLaren, a V60 and a Galaxy S20 Ultra too, but the G3 is my baby. 🥰 It means so much to me. I'll probably shed a few tears the day it finally dies. 😥

Just the design of the G3 is phenomenal and still keeps up with today's newest smartphones in my opinion. I Accidentally dropped mine in dishwater thinking that was the end. The screen still came on glitchy, 2 hours after that it worked normal. Never seen a phone do that by submerging it underwater and still coming back alive. Besides the software issues it's a bulletproof phone to me. Currently still using My G3 the one that got dropped in water lol. Out of any phone like the G5 or the G8X the G3 will always be my favorite phone

I bought LG G3 Stylus back in May 2015 , and guess what ? It's still doing great . Even I never felt any requirement to reset my phone . I'd say this is what you call something a quality product .

@@bobmusic9680 Good for you, old LG G3 with some defect (but perfect screen) is quite cheap on ebay. Just get one and swap out your broken screen. And LG G3 is ultra easy to disassemble, much easier than Samsung and leagues easier than Apple iphones.

@AVLRECORDS Only if you are a gamer. For my daily use in business, I can't tell difference between LG G3 and my wife's Samsung Note 20. LG G3 is upgradable to Android 10 (lineage OS), it's the ultimate oldie phone.

I owned this phone in high school, switched from an iPhone 4 to this. Like the iPhone 4, it had so much charm, and there’s just so much that I miss about this phone. I had some really good memories with that thing.

Man i loved my lg g3 sadly the hardware problem got me, lost all my files sadly... also it had another problem it was bending. both sides of the phone there were cracks in the frame and it would bend the phone, from time to time i had to put it on the display(flat side) and push on it to get it straight and i could hear it cracking. beside that one of the best phone i ever owned altho it put a big fear on me and i never stored important files on phone ever since and i always press the phone on a flat surface to see if its bending. I do agree with you, LG got a very bad stigma after that altho the phones were pretty solid the problems were way too common.

I miss the distinctive design language and feel of old Android phones. For example, if you were to pick up a Sony phone , you knew it was Sony, and this applied to other Android phones. Sadly, they all look the same nowadays with an Iphone-esque design.

LG G3 is definitely worth it! This awesome phone (in 2014) withstood test of time. In 2020, it can be upgraded to Android 10 (lineage OS), and still 3GB ram and snapdragon 801 is good enough for most daily uses. Lot of benefits for using these old phones including lots of custom roms, removable battery and really easiest phone to disassemble and reassemble. There are some amazing $100-$150 chinese phones out there that look like Iphone X/Samsung Note 20 (e.g. umidigi), but there is absolutely no support or knowledge base on these . You are on your own if you have issues with them.

Received LG G7 Thinq Friday from Amazon $109. Used, but Amazon and seller warranty for 90 days. Mine was scratch free, came with charger and cord. TMobile variant unlocked over the air for free, upgraded to Android 9, and LG promised to 10 later this year. Cheers

Samsung Note use to be unbeatable upto Note 4, but then Samsung got rid of removable battery and added glass back. Too bad. I still use my Note 4, but Note 5 and onward are disposable phones.

Not really super throwback would be something like HTC G1 or G2 (which are completely unsable now). But G3 is still very usable. I use two G3 everyday + my G4 as well.

Best phone I've had. Problems are easy to fix. I had 3 G3's and swapped parts as needed. Even the whole motherboard and only had to re-log into google. I'm still using it as an emergency phone.

It was the LG G4 that had the boot looping issue, not the G3. That and it's sister product the V10. It never affected the G3.

I wouldn't say never. There were few bootlooped LG G3s, though these were small in number to LG G4/V10 bootlooping. The big difference is quality of lead free solder LG used to manufacture LG G3 versus crappier one they used on LG G4/V10.

Nice video for one exception, bootloop wasn' t only with LG Phones, that can happen to any android phone, maybe they were the first just because they did try things first. It' s exactly that kind of talk that was a part of their demise.

Custom ROM mostly stop bootloop but disabling the high performance cores. Bootloop is mostly caused by high performance core due to heat which degrades the glue that holds the SOC to the circuit board.

No, bootloop is due to hardware issue usually. LG G4/V10 was notorious for that. LG G3 was much better manufactured and rarely had bootloop issue.

I have it since 2014 but the WiFi function stopped searching for WiFi and the battery goes down in 8 hours I guess it became old 😴 this was my favorite smartphone

I have problem with bootloop with nexus 5x (lg). After installing custom room, phone finally works. Problem was in 2 fast cores, and custom rom somehow dont use that two cores. Phone is slower now, but works.

That's funny I bought the LG h3 when it came out my first big purchase phone and I bought every LG G after that until g7. I became loyal to LG like the way people are to Apple.. Plus I have never been a fan of change and loved the back button. After that I bought the pixel 2 xl and then the pixel 3 xl which I still have because I grew up and stopped buying a phone every year.. And it's a good phone.. But the back cracked so I bought Samsung galaxy note 20 because I wanted a pen. But the pixel 4 is for under $200 right now at Walmart because I miss my pixel. It was just so Google oriented... I do miss having a phone that had SD slot tho. I have dozens of gb of books...

G3 was my 1st big upgrade, had the Motorola Photon 4G before it. That phone was amazing in 2014. I had the gold one from Sprint and I loved everything about it. KitKat was awesome, I rooted it and had the G3ToolBox app, customized everything. Such a good phone and the G4 was even better. LG began to go downhill with the G5. I had the V30 and currently the V35 LG needs to be big and bold again!

Owned it - the worst smartphone I’ve ever had. Overheated so much I was constantly getting „too hot, can’t crank up the brithtness” warning multiple times a day in the summer. In the end, the motherboard died after a year. Be glad you just wanted it and never actually bought this thing 😂 still have a crush on LG’s though, especially LG Wing.

Worst phone I've ever owned. On Verizon they released an update (forget which one) that broke wifi at the time and I did not have unlimited data. The fix took months. I guess I should be more angry at Verizon than LG but this is the phone that got me to switch to iPhone and haven't gone back.

Here is the solution: just reflow the ram/cpu chip stack using hot air gun. There are lots of videos showing you how. I had two LG G3 with screen flickering/fade issue, both of the fixed and rock solid for quite some time. But you can't fix LG G4 bootloop this way. Reflow doesn't really work on LG G4/V10.
