I've got the G3 55 inch. I agree with your best of and worst things. Concerning the remote; yes it should be backlit. Also on my previous LG TV remote I had a TV button. Is there a quick one button press to get back to watching live TV when you've been watching RU-vid for instance. Great channel and keep doing what you're doing!
The one thing that I do not like is the lack of a screensaver. My previous LG OLED had that function. If I'm watching regular TV, my cable box has that built-in. If I'm watching a DVD, Blu-ray, 4K disc on my LG player, and pause it for any length, no screensaver.
Watching on my G3 65 inch got like week ago, probably the only complain i could mention is very very slightly pink tint on the left corner in static solid light colors like white, yellow. And this is even weirder that on something like on recent LG Oled Demo "Daydreams" i cant find that pink tint even when i am hard trying
@@GoofieNewfie i cant say its pink, its very weird coz in some white stuff thoose areas look normal. Like if that would be an example only 10% of whole screen would be white and thoose 10% white would be on thoose areas it would be normal white. But if i open full screen of yellow that left side just become almost orange. That just cant be only coating
I own this 65" G3. Here in the U.S. the power plug is nowhere near as big as the U.K. version. Also, the U.S. power cable is quite a bit longer than yours.
As i see you made the latest firmware update, does it cripples the luminance? And i agree, the remote control is a junk, you pay premium for such TVs and you get a trash remote. They even removed the play/pause buttons, the older remote was better!
I have the same tv and nothing you don't like bothers me, burn in wont happenas i have zero static images, but there is one setting I can't seem to find a solution for so if anyone knows, when I play dolby vision content the video range is greyed out to auto, I want to change to limited like I can when playing hdr10 as it looks better, I did contact lg but the customer support guy couldn't understand what I was asking, if there is a solution please let me no, thanks
All valid points, the fixed power cable has to be the most important failure, I had a wall socket installed in my new extension before deciding on buying the LG G3, and I wall mounted it flush but had to put trunking down the wall, I then purchased a LG GX soundbar and cables are hidden into a ikea tv stand. The sound of the TV lacks any bass, and a speaker upgrade was the best option, and with the LG GX being pretty flat also it complements the tv nicely. Dolby Atmos sounds awesome.
@@justchilling4491 I would never buy a second hand one. I will get it next year on sale. Maybe not a G series. Other priorities for travel and house renovation must come first.
The power cable is just right if you want to use the wall mount and bury the cables in the wall. There are nice kits for in the wall cables that have a power connector and then enough room to pass all the cables out the bottom. The power extension comes out the bottom and then will connect to a nearby wall outlet. It really makes a nice looking installation without any cables in view.
Your worst things don’t bother me at all. My only complaint is the poor onboard audio quality. Should be so much better for such an expensive tv. I thought maybe LG could at least partially address it with a fw update, but it’s never happened. I hope they do way better with the G4.
This is actually who so many people opt for the Sony A95L QD-OLED instead. With its built-in Acoustic Surface Audio + technology, it literally has the best built-in TV audio of any TV every made...and the display is absolutely gorgeous!
Enjoyed the worst things video as I did the best things vid. As for updates I have seen LG give info re the update if it’s a very important update. I have Auto Update disabled on my G2 & can’t recall but one time that this was overridden &!an update was installed anyway. Apparently Samsung installs updates even if you have Auto Update disabled. I’ve found the power cords on my 2 EG9600 3D TVs long enough as well as in my G2. The plug end in the US not as large as your UK block. Keep up the good work & look forward to the next one!
I think the remote control is very solid. I have had several LG's with the remote control. They have fallen off the couch several times and have survived, so they are certainly solid.
You should have added the raised blacks when viewing in a well lit room . I saw the lg g3 in a showroom next to Sony a80l and let me tell ya I really did see the difference , the Sony had perfect blacks while the lg s blacks were a bit raised lacking those pure inky blacks that oleds usually give you . I imagine it works fine in normal viewing conditions but it is a bit of a stepdown if you ask me .
Hi, it's good to see you back on here. I purchased a g3 77" August 23. And I didn't have good luck with mine. It had a bent screen and was having some bad problems with Certain content that looked terrible. This was my first time trying an oled and a lg tv. And another crazy thing was that my 5 year old samsung had just as good colors as it did. But I'm holding out now to hopefully try a g4 83" this summer . Darrell
If you've ever used a remote from a generic supermarket TV like a cello youll think the remote is actually pretty good. Has a proper weight and decent keyfeel to it. Having said that the magic remote with my 5 year old budget lg oled has a nicer shape
I just bought a lg c3 42 inch last Sunday.all I can say about it is wow what a great tv.Paul would this video also apply to the c3 also.and I also agree with you on these worst things.but overall to me this is the best tv on the market hands down
I’ve spent a huge portion of the last couple weeks researching 3 brand TVs since I’m now in the market, and trying to figure out who to go with (LG G3, Sony A95L, or Samsung S95C) and it’s been hard! Ones better here but worse here all the way down. This video was great because in the end I’m looking for what’s gonna bother me most of each brand. GREAT VIDEO!!!!
Sony is the best but at a great price premium. End of the day you will be happy with each and every one of them. I had a similar choice to make and as much as I wanted sony paying almost double for small difference didnt make sense. Got my LG G3 delivered today and extremely excited.
Hi Paul, I hope you are all well, Even with the down sides like you said it's still one of the best TV's out there, I too wish the remote was as high end as the TV, Some back lighting would be nice, hey maybe even wireless charging to do away with batteries, (as well as a plug in usb for charging) My big boy LG TV's before the G series used to come with two remotes a cheap one and a wand version,
Hello there Paul great video mate ......i would say the worst thing is the Plug Situation, they got to come up with a solution to this issue ...... even if there's some sort of mini adapter link that can extend the lead length ...... and yeah flagship tvs neeed better HQ controllers , it's the steering wheel for the TV 📺 so I think it's right to have a premium TV controller for that money 💰 anyway cheers for the Video mate all the best 👌
Can you do a video for the best picture settings for the lg c3 please. I used you standard settings for my c9 from your old video and they worked a treat.
And the next thing the loading for setting. LG is the first tv I see when u press menu setting it start to load for 5 to 4 seconds. They shud disable that.
You mention that the power cable is too short but what is the actual length of it? I am looking to get this tv and will be using trunking to hide the cables. My plug is fairly close to where the tv will be but I'd like to measure it out first before purchasing it.
For me, the worst thing about LG TVs is WebOS. It's singlehandedly the worst thing in the TV. Makes it worse if you use streaming apps. Before it loads the apps, it takes ages
Hi buddy, I've been watching you since the beginning. I want to know your opinion, as from a person who has had experience with Samsung. If you compare, who do you prefer more, lg models or Samsung's OLED 4K S95C? Thanks for the feed and feedback.
To be honest and fair the worst thing about the 65" LG OLED G3 is that its not the 77" and thats about it. Its a perfect TV. I like your videos in general but this one feels a little overdone. I give you the power cable issue though.
Whenever i turn on my LG Oled sometimes in the bottom left corner a single white pixel flickers once when my tv turns on my tv is just over 2 months old, It doesnt happen every time i turn it on it is very random, What could this be? And anything i can do myself about this?
Hey TG I’m very upset .. I had two lg G3 77 replacements for some popping noise .. and my G2 65 inch ( which I still have ) doing the same thing one year last December. I returned both g3s tried the Samsung s95c 77 and now trying a 83 inch LG C3 . Have you experienced this non stop clicking and popping sound it’s all an over Reddit and there’s RU-vid videos of this . LG is also cutting me a full refund check for my 65 inch G2. It’s been chaos .
I bought the 77” G3 in November and then around March I started to notice the popping and cracking noises. So annoying coming from a $4000 tv. Did you ever find a solution?
@@calebgriffin8638 hello I’m very upset this isn’t addressed more on RU-vid . I ended up raising hell to LG executives and I made them cute me a check for my G2 since they know .. I repeat they know it’s an issue . So I also went with another 85 inch for the living room area . I’d call customer service if I was you and raise hell like I did . I’m so sick of these companies charging so much but then when it comes to support and help it’s almost non existent. I had to send them video proof and everything during the warranty claim period. I’d never buy another lg oled for this reason alone . I had a lg CX 77 and never had these issues . I think it’s the heat sink that’s making that aggressive noise I had it , sorry this happened to you also . No cure so far from what I seen. Good luck with everything
I did see a great installation video for the power cable issue showing a receded double wall plate in a ^ shape with the power socket on the right and the HDMI on the left allowing the electrical to be run right to the wall plate behind the TV and your HDMI coming out to run along the grooves of the TV. I'm in Canada where our plugs are much easier to handle so mine is on a low profile wall mount as I upgraded from 77C2 to 77G3 and didn't have time to redo the wall it was mounted on, but it did look really sweet. Here's the video, it's in the "Set-up" section from 2m30 to around 6m30 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p97qcJ554ZM.html
So to sum it all up, if you buy this TV you are stuck with a short fixed mains lead, a cheap remote sluggish menu's and worst of all the infamous OLED burn in. Perhaps i will wait for Sony's new 2024 mini LED models.
Honestly I'm on my third 65 inch I think one of the worst things about them is there poor quality control with a lot of uniformity issues particularly for the 65 in
@@Nikita.vaskin looking at the Finch trailer at BB when the panning of the top view building, the G3 was the smoothest compared to the other TVs. The other TVs were stuttering.
I recently purchased the s95c. When the TV is on the one connect box makes a high pitched buzzing noise. And when its switched off the noise changes more to a hum. Does anybody out there with this TV have a the same problem?
Please translate!
