For those who doesn't know Fisher and Paykel is the first washing machine that did came out with a direct drive motor under the name of smart Drive during the 90s
Even if you are connecting motor directly to drum, the motor need to be connected to a base atleast. So you are not completely taking off the vibration away from body. It may reduce the vibration a bit, but not as much as detailed in this video.
LG washers are the best front load units. It’s no question there will still be some vibration. Compare to all brands out there you are getting the best quality under $1000
i see lot of people that say that this is bullshit.. i cant agree that this is bullshit because i have seen it working and it was more quiet and smoother.. also it was a washer with dryer at one device. yes it cost more i know..
All brands that still use belt drive with 7Kg wash capacity, give a larger drum (machine depth 55cm plus) with 1200 rpm motor. But LG always gives a smaller drum (machine depth 44cm) and almost always maxes at 1000 rpm. Even their 1200 rpm motors have a smaller drum. Only their 8Kg+ models have larger drums with 1400 rpm. Looks like, their lower end motors can not compete with traditional belt drive motors.
*Number One ✌️👌 Front Load Washing Machine In India. 🤝🙏👍⚖️🇮🇳💯✔️👌. I love LG Electronics Product. Buy blindly purchase product LG 7kg FHT1207SWS WASHING MACHINE.*
Industry is not inventing anything new. But taking so long to do this. This concept was already implemented in water motor pumps called mono block. Where the motor shaft and pump shaft are connected directly without belt mechanism.
You could have had your initial motor fixed to the tub case, this way you belts would not break that often (I'm joking, of course, that animation has no connection to reality - I hope ;) )
Logan Perry Too many different companies, some of which are stubborn. Products from different companies could excel in one category, and fail in another. Some companies are unwilling to work together and because of that, the market is a mess.
I hv been using Lg frnt load WM for 6years , i feel its super energy efficient, very silent, strong . we haven't faced any issues till now . i recommend u to go with LG DD machines, as LG has royalty on direct drive technology other companies spreading such efficiency stuffs n all. LG WM is highest selling machines in the market.
I have a lg washer I bought it 5 years ago no good, is unbalance I have to drain the water from the front every wash I regret spending all the money for nothing
Thumbs down because a conventional motor is installed direkt to the drum, and not static like is shown in the video, i never see a washing maschine who the motor is NOT fixed to the drum.
MircoBB Jup the motor ia not fixed to the frame or flying in the Air its fixed to the Plastic (outer drum). I have Lg 6kg 6 Motion dd washing machine and when machine is on stepping Motion it shakes itself out Of the place. Or if on swing Motion it like jumps to sides. And Of the load is unbalanced it will not spin My washing machine struggles to spin it take an hour to balance the load if theres couple clothes in it. With My Belt drive i have no problems DOES the laundry in Time.
Not Necessarily True. I have seen a Stretched belt and that will start slipping and eventually break. There is a weakness on this system too. The Hall sensor can also burn out. causing LE code. It is true that the motor is on the side of the tub though.
From our experience, this machine is rubbish and not worth the extra money. I had to send them a video to prove it was vibrating excessively and argue with the people at the call centre. They sent a repair company called 0800 Repair about 5 or 6 times. The first time the man never even looked at it and said "They (LG) know what is wrong with it. I'll order the parts now." It was ok for a while then started to vibrate as before again. Complete waste of money and time.
I had a Hoover belt drive for 20 years and used consistently daily the only reason I opted for an LG direct drive was because of the quietness in spin plus it was Time to upgrade however saying that my Hoover washing machine was in perfect condition after 20 years, I was told I might get 10 years out of my new LG Direct drive and 7 years out of a belt drive in Constant use.. oh how times have changed..
Any power saving advantage is not worth considering in an appliance used only occasionally like a washing machine. Inverter motors are only advantageous in appliances that run constantly, like aircon units or fridge freezers. Don't forget there is also the pump in a washing machine which also uses power
