i liked that you included the shot of the tv being delivered with the kid watching it being brought in. it reminds me of when my dad bought our first new tv. i think it was a 20 inch zennith tv.
LOL! I've seen kids less happy about their Christmas presents! Love the permanent grin on the face from ear to ear. I feel that way also when I buy a new tv, especially new technology. : D
thank you so much, you have no idea how helpful you are, as someone mentioned below, this is the best unboxing for this type of tv, that you can find on youtube. period. great job! how is the TV?
50inch looked small in the shop but the 55inch makes up for the lack of trim that you get on most tvs think bezel is nice but on a 50inch it makes I little look small but having 5 inches of bezel is never pretty I rather have 5 inches of extra screen than 5inch especially of bezel
Yeah but when it comes to OLED displays you better have a big wallet if you want to get a 55" don't even get me started on anything above that. I'm 13 btw so I don't have a job to be able to afford this :(
Well, by the time you're old enough to have a job, I'd be surprised if a 55" B-series equivalent OLED still cost over $1000. As OLED matures, and other manufacturers (such as Panasonic) start producing OLED televisions, the prices should start becoming more reasonable.
How big is the box, can you tell me? I want to know if it would fit in my car. Id rather pick it up at best buy bc I know that tv you got flipped over, was thrown, fell over ect at least 15 times before it got to your destination.
I'M EXPECTING MY OLED55CP TO BE DELIVERED LATER TODAY.THE BUYER STATES TO UNBOX WHILE THE DRIVER IS THERE AND CHECK FOR DAMAGE TO EXPEDITE ANY CLAIMS. I'M EXCITED BUT NERVOUS ABOUT A DRIVER HOVERING OVER ME.
The wall mount I used is in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6L32AB_C6eg.html It's basically a flush mount from Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003MIEM8I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Note that if you need to tilt the TV at all, you will want a different stand. I don't recall off the top of my hand what the screw spacing is. It is listed in the TV's specifications.
I'd say 8-12 feet. From that distance, I don't think you'd notice the difference between HD and UHD at 55". At 65", maybe. When I game, I sit about 3' from the TV. At that distance, there is a marked difference between 1080p and 4k. Unfortunately, my NVidia 970 can't keep a good framerate at 4K, so I game at 1080. But the amazing contrast (on a whole different level than my IPS monitor) more than makes up for it.
OLED is very difficult to produce which is why Samsung and Sony dropped support. Don't plan on them being any cheaper next year. It's a premium TV and should be looked as such from a price stand point
Well, I bought it when it was $3000 and loved it then. Then the price on Amazon dropped to $2,500, and I got a refund for the difference since it was within 30 days, and I still love it. Now it's $1,600 on Amazon. If I thought it was worth $3000 a few months ago, I definitely think it's worth $1600 today.
The panel is glass. And standard definition looks good scaled up to 4K. It won't look as clear as a native 1080 or 4K signal, of course, but it still looks pretty good.
I appreciate it. Glass screen is so much easier to clean than LCD's. I'm typing this on my 13" 2015 MacBook Pro with Retina display. One of the main reasons I bought it was for the glass screen. Incredibly though, I'm still watching my 27" Samsung Dynaflat CRT. It's 15 years old and still has a great SD picture. My friends think I'm nuts, but I didn't buy Plasma because of burn in issues. My major dilemma is that I have over 4000 SD DVD's in my collection. Some won't upscale on my friends 1080 Panasonic Plasma, some will. After replacing $5000 worth of VHS movies, which I stubbornly won't discard and changed over to DVD, low and behold BluRay came along and I said enough. I need a place to sleep. I was considering getting a $500 Vizio LCD to tide me over but I'll probably get an OLED. Yours looks amazing even through RU-vid. Boy, that TV was extremely well packaged. I'm in Canada and we also had a Black Friday deal on your set. It was $2672 on the nose at Best Buy. That's just about $2000 U.S. Needless to say, they sold out online across Canada in 10 minutes. Prices are coming down and LG discounted your TV to an identical price with Best Buy in the states. Anyhow, sorry for talking your ear off. Enjoy your new TV. Hope it gives you as many years of viewing pleasure as I got out of my Samsung CRT.
Other than that its $2000 now, no regrets. My wife limited me to 55, so while it would have been nice to get the 65" now for what I originally paid, I'm happy with the 55. I just need to get more HDR material.
Unless you sit really close, there is not much of a difference in perceivable resolution, as would be the case with any 4K TV. But the added contrast and perfect blacks of the OLED makes most pictures look much better. I say most because if you have a crappy source video, the TV will very faithfully reproduce all the garbage in the signal.
It should have asked you for WiFi/Ethernet(Internet) connection first to help you detect your #region and #time settings and a digital channel search depending with the delivery of service e.g. #antenna
Hello ... can you help me please !!! :) I recently bought the LG B6 OLED and I noticed just in the right part almost at the end of the panel had a little more brightness than normal, the white is paler and in the colors something clear is noticeable, it will be a panel problem or It is normal"?
sheldon leslie Buying OLED this early in its infancy is a lottery..irrefutable, it's a huge gamble, but if you win, it's a huge win..OLED is amazing, but won't trust it until I have 5-10 yr data..and that gonna take ..oh abt -10 yrs ..I don't count obselete 2013-14 models, wonder how many of those are paper weights..Happy with samsung and edge-lit..no.such thing as perfect TV, but we can trust lcd coz obv been around longer than tvs.
I played a game several times, and haven't had any issues. One session was 3 hours, and I then checked on a white and black screen, and didn't notice any retention at all. Even if you do get some retention, the TV has a built-in static image removal system that I heard works really well.
Yup, I've measured it. It's 55". To me, it definitely looks small. I gave up my theater with a 10' wide screen, and got this TV as a consolation. Smaller image, way better picture quality. Definitely a "First World Problem."
Yes, I stream from my Windows 10 PC. You just have to install SmartShare (available from LG) on your PC for it to work. Mac Users can install Plex Media Server (also available from LG) to stream. There are also Andriod, iOS, and LInux options. While the TV does see the PC on the network, SmartShare has to be running to stream. Also, it won't stream .iso files. But .mkv files work just fine. Their software can be found here: www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000018-1427120133847
Actually, as long as you don't abuse them, they don't. www.avsforum.com/forum/40-oled-technology-flat-panels-general/2932386-does-your-oled-tv-exhibit-image-persistence-burn.html#post55103196
This does HDR through HDMI. As far as I know, Ultra HD blu-ray players only output via HDMI as component connectors do not support copy protection. However, this TV does have a component connection. It is a single plug on the back, but there is a dongle that breaks out into the red green and blue connections.
+Family White TV maybe you can fit fittle with it.i was told update didn't work for streaming via hdmi ..port not 2.0..from Samsung..could be a lil overrated anyway ..Samsung tv have a higher nit..whatever..I don't need sunglasses to watch tv..probably unnoticeable..not sure I trust burn it and longetivity..it is new technology..beautiful tv..for price u got..can't go wrong..price keeps dropping that's abt a good a price u gonna get..congrats and great vid..got a chuckle..I'm still contemplating Samsung ks9500 65 or this model or c6p..whatever 2016 version is what u have not highend..I buy from online vendors..never had a problem..ppl don't trust alot..but i have no idea who wouldn't goto best buy and pay tax ..I'm in MA
+CJ S sorry LG said won't stream HDR through hdmi..update was a lie or didn't work..but whatever..not a deal breaker..still get it streaming apps..I don't even know why I have cable anymore...freakn ripoff..I'm sure soon I'll drop it..be able to get everthing in apps soon
This is the 2016 model OLED TV. It has HDMI 2.2, per the LG website, and it does output true HDR. The Samsung UN55KS9000 does have a higher peak brightness, but LG has blacker blacks. In a recent UK shootout: www.avsforum.com/lcd-wins-hdr-oled-wins-sdr-vote-in-uk-shootout/ the participants found that they prefer LCD for HDR content, and OLED for SDR content. Since most content is SDR, the LG is still a great choice. But if you want the best HDR experience, you may prefer LCD... as long as you don't mind giving up perfect blacks.
Biggest issues with these TVs is that they are absolute crap when it comes to data privacy. If you use a lot of their dedicated LG apps you are giving away a ton of privacy.(plus eavesdropping on you with the built in microphone etc)Do your due diligence before you set it up so you can disengage a lot of the permissions. You won't be using the tv 100% but you will be able to enjoy most of what it has to offer.
$2499 is what I paid. Whether or not it is worth it is up to you, but so far I have no regrets. I'll be posting a review hopefully within the next few days.
i love these new tvs now aday i hated the old tube tvs they were too small and heavy i live off the tax payers i never buy tv from walmart only bestbuy and tigerdirect i bought a nice 800 dollar samsung led tv 4 years ago and a 600 dollar led lg tv 4 years ago
This particular model does not have 3D. For the 2016LG models, the C series and E series are the sets with 3D. For the 2017 lineup, LG completely dropped 3D support from all their televisions. In part because not many people cared about 3D, and in part because there is no 4K 3D standard.
In the settings under the "Network Settings" section of the TV's menu is where you can add your wifi network. For specific instructions, check out page 41 of the TV's manual here: www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-OLED55B6P#
@@jasonbrewer354 One thing you can try in order to visualize how big the screen would be is to get some masking tape and tape two rectangles where you would want the TV. a 55" TV would be a 48" x 27" rectangle. a 65" TV would be a 57" x 32" rectangle. That way you can get a feel for how big it would be, and whether you would be satisfied with it.
Don't buy oled if you watch sky news (or any other channel with scrolling along the base). After 17 months of normal viewing my Logik 55" oled has severe screen burn along the bottom and a large round circular screen burn in the centre (caused, I assume, by the fact that on most channels a fairly static face is centred). This has rendered my expensive tv virtually unwatchable. Logik say screen burn is caused by leaving the television on pause for many hours (untrue) and anyway is not covered by warranty. BE WARNED - DO NOT BUY OLED!! Check you tube and internet for many, many similar comments.
I buy this tv, everything its perfect, but the tv don't have android Tv SO, so if you want download google apps to the tv is imposible. I have to use the cellphone and share the screen. I wish have the posibilite to change the os system.
i was pissed when i got my tv delivered the morons did not put the screws for the tv stand in the box i had to find the samsung parts store online and order the screws adn it took about 7 days to get the screws
Ese mando tipo mause es una mejora, es aburrido usar el teclado direccional, también tengo un LG LED 49" y es excelente imagen, colores vivos y super nítido, nada que ver con mi anterior Samsung..

I have a theater room that I had to convert to a homeschool room. I got the TV as a consolation for giving it up. But I do have a very nice Klipsch 7.2 sound system. It just isn't hooked up for now...
