Wow! You really did do a deep unboxing! Great video, must have taken a lot of effort to do this. I just bought this on Prime sale for 50% off. Hope its good.
This is excellent! Thank you for really going “deep unboxing”. I have never seen a review like this detailed. I am still deciding between this and the Sony HT-A7000 with SW5 sub and RS3 surround. The LG costs 2/3 of the Sony but it doesn’t pass through 4K120 which was a deal breaker for me but with this review, I am thinking again about the LG. Are you doing the Sony soon?
@@hxosplus, thank you for responding to me. Not sure if I’d missed it, have you done a review on Sony HT-A7000 with SW5 sub and RS3 or the newer RS5? Also, I listen to lossless and hi-res music with mid to high end headphones, how does the LG perform for music listening?
@@BillyKueekSG FWIW, pretty much everyone seems to rave about the A7000, so I bought it with the bigger sub and new rears - and hated it. The sound is so tinny and hollow out of the center channel. Atmos is non-existent, but I expected that. The new rears are $600, but I heard NOTHING out of them other than the occasional motorcycle driving by or explosion - and that was with my head right up next to them. I tried virtually EVERYTHING - setting all speakers to max, virtual, spatial, all the sound modes - I thought it sounded like crap, sorry. I don't know what people are thinking. It has all the features, but what good is that if the sound quality stinks?
@@Mr21scott ooh, sounds awful that you had to go through this. Strange that a Sony product will do so badly especially since there are many positive reviews about their 2 latest systems ie. HT-A7000 with SW5 sub and RS5 surround or the HT-9
"Hello to all of you, I have a question that I couldn't answer myself through Google and forum searches. Is it possible to connect the SPQ9 rear speakers, which were delivered with the DS95QR, to a DS90QY? According to the manual, only the SPQ8 can be connected to the DS90. Since the SPQ9 can only be purchased as part of the DS95QR package and not individually, but only the SPQ8 can be bought separately, it makes sense that LG only mentions the 8 series in the manual! Has anyone tried connecting the SPQ9 to a DS90?"
Thank you for the great video, can you do a comparison between this and the samsung q990b soundbar in terms of performance and sound effects and quality in gèneral, it will be a great video, thanks in advance.
@@hxosplus Αντε επιτέλους, περιμένω ποσο καιρό και δεν θέλω να παρω την περσινή γιατι παντού λενε οτι ειναι πολυ καλύτερη η καινούργια. Εσυ πως την ειδες;

Great! I have the feeling that the Samsung Q990B is just better built quality wise (internal components and circuitry) than the LG :) (although i love LG products)
I got one of those because both HDMI Ports of an Sharp HT-SBW800 died after only 3 Months. The Sharp HT-SBW800 is sold for 336.- The LG is sold for 1'199.- And unfortunately the Sharp one sounds much better than the LG. The Sharp sounds very good and natural at Volume 10/30 The LG one sounds like shit and is not loud enough at Volume 40/100 or even 50/100 to get the same loudness of the Sharp at 10/30. The Connectivity of the LG is much better and the HDMI Feature are better, but what use is it if it sounds like crap. Especially Dolby Digital Content is abysmal compared to the cheap Sharp. Interesting is that Dolby Atmos Content sounds better on the LG, so perhaps there is something messed up Software wise with Dolby Digital. I still have 21 Months Warranty on the Sharp so I gonna send it in for repair and can't await to get it back and replace the LG with the Sharp one again. I really dunno what LG did mess up, but there are too much highs, not enough middle and the subwoofer is also used only badly. I tried every mode and fiddled around with settings, nothing helps, it simply sounds like shit, an unbalanced mess. The Sharp has almost no settings or modes, but sounds good out of the box. I watched the Video here because I wanted to see what LG put in there and to figure out why it sounds so bad. And for me it looks like they used the cheapest possible trash speakers, and that in a Sound bar for over a grand, they should be ashamed. The Sharp uses the same Speakers that also Creative uses for the Pebble, and they seem to be much better. The Subwoofer(downfiring) of the Sharp is also about half so big, but performs better than the behemoth LG uses. So it can't only be bad Speakers, there must be something else, like messed up Software or Meridian was just incompetent. In any case, I will never buy anything with Meridian on it again, because if you bang your name on a product, then you should also deliver quality or just live with the consequences if you fail like that. It's really a shame that a product that costs more than three times as much as the other delivers such abysmal audio quality in comparison. I also guess they are lying about the Wattage, because the Sharp has almost the same Wattage, but turning the LG to max is like 50% of the Sharp max. I mean how is this possible if they have the same Wattage? Or are the Speakers LG uses so bad that they only deliver 50% of what the Sharp ones can?
