We recently purchased the LG UQ7590 86-Inch Class UHD Smart TV on sale for $999.99 from Amazon and I've created a first impression review of the unit. It's quite impressive with 120Hz display, UHD 4k Resolution and 86 inch size! Especially for the price, this unit sure has impressed everyone in our family.
The TV comes with many features I'll likely never use, but the basic functionality is exactly what we were looking for. Check out the review for a detailed overview of the specifications. Soon I'll upload a video detailed the setup process which was quite a bit more involved than I thought it was going to be.
This unit weights over 100 pounds which makes me nervous to mount on the wall, make sure you have sturdy load bearing beams before mounting. It features 2 usb ports, 2 HDMI 2.1 and 1 HDMI 2.0 port long with optical audio port and a 3.5mm port that's NOT for audio (I learned the hard way). Apparently this 3.5mm port is for some sort of remote control of the TV.
This TV is great for gaming with 120Hz refresh rate and it offers upscaling and frame blending technology to make everything look crisp and clear, even regular HD content.
There is too much to list here in the description, but you should know, this TV is really impressive and a great TV for any family room!

I was going to look for a 55 inch to replace for gaming, and I was wondering if it was 120hz. I did buy the 86 inch but was going to get the 55 if it was 120hz. LOL..thank you for this comment.

How exciting! Make sure you have a few friends or family to move it around and get the feet installed, it's about 100 pounds and it felt like I might break it when moving it by myself. When you open the box there are instructions on how to move the TV without damaging the display. It's pretty strong but having additional help will make a difference.

@Victor Sandoval sure, I'll give a quick review here, and I'll record one soon, too. We're basic users so not needing most of the fancy features. Bluetooth speakers are a pain because they have to be paired every time. Viewing angle is ok but it gets a bit washed out on the far edges. Brightness is ok but direct sunlight makes it hard to see the screen. Sound is audible/ plenty loud but not high quality. SmartTV is ok, a bit slow and has crashed twice. Also, some apps refuse to initiate and it has lasted up to a half hour with no resolve, eventually the app (like hulu) will launch again. Remote is hard to use in the dark and since there is a delay when making a selection it's hard to know if it's worked or not. Finding out I hit the wrong button and the darn LGtv thing was launched is a pain. All that said. I LOVE the TV and wouldn't return it. The resolution is amazing and picture quality is great for me, especially since I don't have a better one to compare it too. 4 stars from me and a keeper in my book! Great review, thanks for posting it! We recently picked up the 65 inch of the model, love the picture hate the remote. Just curious which picture settings you ended up with. It sounds like you're like me, I don't like to get too technical with the tv's just mainly focusing on the brightness. Thanks again!

Thanks! I've left the picture mode to the default but recently upped the 'black level' from 50 to 70. Darker movies like "Black Panther" are hard to see and no picture mode helps with that. See my comment on how to adjust those settings above.

We bought the LG UQ7570 for $399. At Best Buy for our bedroom and we love it. We already had purchased a LG 65 Inch Class B2 OLED 4K UHD Smart webOS 22 w/ ThinQ AI TV 4 months before for our family room at Best Buy $1400. and we don’t see a whole lot of difference? Even the Best Buy Tech that set up our LG UQ7570 and mounted on our wall said he was shocked it was not an OLED and had to look at the box it came in again. I know we are an older couple but we are so happy with both TV’s and if I had known the LG UQ 7580 had such a great picture we definitely would have bought two of these. Don’t get me wrong the OLED is very nice and has a magic remote but none of my friends and family can see a big difference in the picture quality. I did a dirty screen test on both and neither one had the dirty screen effect. I am no expert just a regular old guy, lol 😂 but I can confidently recommend both sets. Great video! I recently bought the 86QNED85 from LG. Obviously a couple steps up in terms of performance and specs, but there's certainly nothing wrong with a budget friendly big screen. Especially if you don't want/need Dolby Vision support.

The qned85 is a great tv. I have one in a 65". The tv in the video is $1196 right now. Amazing a tv this size can be bought under $1200. Love the wood paneling in this guys living room.

@@HappyCamperDeals I will second the comment here and your friends that have told you to leave the wood paneling as is. I of course can't see what it looks like close up but just seeing it at a bit of a distance I think it looks great. The natural look of wood with the knots and the grain structure when finished properly is a look that is somewhat more refined than white paint. White paint is often used to hide blemishes and cracking when the wood is of poor quality with poor grain structure. Thank you for the concise and easy to understand appraisal of this 86" LG TV. I have been thinking of going for a big inch display that makes viewing so much more immersive visually and I already have some good audio equipment which will enhance the audio experience. I haven't watched tv using just the speakers supplied with the tv for a long time now and can't really fathom why people don't connect better audio equipment to their tv's as it is relatively easy to do and doesn't have to be expensive either. The viewing experience is so much better than you get with most tv's when you use only what comes with the tv. I liked your presentation and will be subscribing. It sounds very much like you know what you talking about. Good job!

You seem to align with what drives my passion for a large TV. I gather your after a high quality experience which of course includes the size of the screen and the richer sound. Thanks for the review. Do 4K TVs have four times the resolution of 1080p TVs? Or two times the resolution? A 1080p TV is actually a "2K" TV since a 4K TV is using the horizontal pixel count and not the vertical count like the 1080p TV.

Great questions, it would take 4 1080p tvs to equal 1 4k tv. If you double the pixel count horizontally and vertically you quadruple the total amount of pixels. Technically 2k rez is 2048x1080 but 1920x1080 is very close. I believe it's the difference between 16x9 and 17x9 aspect ratio.

Did you notice bright circles in the picture for instance a all white picture or the all blue sky? Is that normal? Almost like a few of the back lights are too bright

I have not noticed that on all white or blue sky however I do notice very slight 'blotchyness' with a 1-2% variance in the color. I put up a solid white jpg full screen and can see the variances. I've not been concerned about it because when viewing RU-vid, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu or any other the quality looks acceptable to me.

The feet are almost exactly 5 feet apart, that would be 60 inches give or take so you will be cutting it way close. I don't think it will work without some findangling (like adding a wider board to increase the width.

This question is asked often... the feet are 60 inches apart and about 14.2 inches deep. I hope this helps. Another thing worth mentioning is that the TV was recalled for a while because it was deemed unstable. My guess is they put wider or bigger feet on it, so that's something worth noting.

FAQ as this question is asked many times :). Ok, the feet are 60 inches apart almost exactly 5 feet and they are 14.5 inches deep. It's worth noting there was a recall due to tipping danger so I'm not sure if they changed the feet or just added a way to harness the TV to the wall.

Returned this TV after 5 days. Contrasts abysmal, light bleed from 4 or 5 spots (not IPS glow, hotspot light bleed) and even with the Shield upscaling, broadcast TV looked like crap. Switch and PS5 games were OK at 120hz just not dark scenes. Dropped down a size to 75" and spent $400 more and got a Sony X90K and omg what a difference. Like... I really can't describe how much better the Sony is. Should have listened to the ppl I talked to in forums and subreddits and stayed away from non OLED LG TVs and saved myself the trouble.

Yea, I got it for $999 during Black Friday season and it was available only for a short time. Right now the going price is closer to $1100-$1200. I have not seen it cheaper right now. Hopefully later in the year it comes down in price again!

Almost exactly 5 feet apart. Our entertainment center is 5 feet 4 inches and as you can imagine it barely fits. Also keep in mind the unit weights more than 100 pounds so make sure wherever you sit it or hang it, can handle that weight.

The stand is 60 inches apart and 14.5 inches wide but it's worth mentioning that there was a recall due to likelihood it could tip over. My guess is either they are now providing bigger feet or they are providing some additional harness to tack it to a beam or wall. I don't know for sure though, I kept mine and it hasn't tipped over.

Definitely still liking it! Unless I had a better TV next to this one to compare it to, I wouldn't know the difference. Bluetooth speakers disconnect after every use so that stinks, but everything else Jason been great so far!

@Rickytiger97 warranties are tricky. For me, from what I've seen, the TV is good quality, strong, heavy (100lbs). Unless you plan to move the TV around a lot or have it around crowds of people I don't think there will be any structural issues. If you plan to keep your TV near a window or above a fireplace, the dramatic change in temperature can damage the TV prematurely. In those cases I do recommend a warranty. As for the software, it's going to poop out maybe after 2 years. It has a small internal HD and the smart TV runs slow (push button and count 2 seconds then action happens). I'm sure there will be a few updates but after a while updates will stop and it will get slower. I plan to use a roku 4k streaming stick and maybe a PC when the TV gets too slow so I'm not worried about that either.

LOL, glad you're getting it one way or another! I can sort of recommend the MR22GA universal remote. It pairs easily, and works OK. The buttons are a bit tricky but better than the factory remote. The microphone is good but the TV's ability to decipher what you're saying isn't the greatest. Lastly, there is this weird scroll wheel/button in the middle of the remote and when activated it turns the remote into a pointer style navigation tool which works OK. It can be inaccurate and the wheel can get stuck create havoc from time to time. I bought this TV for the price point and available features such as 120hz and hdmi 2.1 for gaming. If you are streaming 4k content the display is beautiful. Great colors and really good contrast. Unfortunately 4k is not even close to the standard on any platform. If you watch a lot of sports this tv is horrible. Almost every network broadcasts in 720p, once in a while 1080p but that’s rare. The picture you get from those channels is horrible. The LG upscaling just is not good on this tv. The image is blurry, pixelated, and just all around bad. It’s not just on sports it’s on basically anything that’s not in 4k. I returned after 2 weeks and got a Sony Bravia X95 series 85” and couldn’t believe the difference. Buying tv’s is the definition of “you get what you pay for”. So unless you plan of streaming only 4k content I would advise passing on this tv and opting for a higher quality set.

Your comment just saved me from getting this TV. I thought we ordered a pretty decent TV for the price, and it all seemed just fine. After reading your comment, I immediately started rethinking my decision. Did a bit more research, and then decided to get a 75” that’s a bit more expensive, but the quality of the picture during sports will now be a whole lot better! Thanks for your input here, saved me from staring at an expensive mistake for years. 😂

This is a very interesting question, I don't have a QLED to compare it to, but I'll say this. To me, the blacks are fine, I had to tweak the colors so everything wouldn't look dark, BUT I'd assume having a QLED next to this TV, there would be a difference. My complaint is in bright light the TV is a bit faded and harder to see. It's not terrible to me, but it's definitely not the brightest TV out there.

I know what you mean. Select the gear icon on your remote, arrow down to the three dots and push the button in the center of the arrow icons on your remote. First option is 'picture', select that and then use the arrow keys to navigate to the 'advanced settings' and select that. Select 'brightness' then go down to 'black level'. Once that is selected use the arrow keys to go up to around 70 or as desired. It will be better but if you go to far it will not look good. Best of luck!
