Electrifying Anna It's pretty close. No stereo speakers, 5 Megapixel selfie camera, of course the screen is not as good as Samsung's offerings and the UI needs a bit more work. But LG is gaining ground and approaches Samsung.
panatha tube The screen is better than the Samsung phones according to quite a few people, Samsung phones don't have stereo speakers and both uis have their problems but LG's ui is far less prone to lag. LG also provides the quad dac, military grade drop protection, and a professional manual mode as well as f/1.6 camera apeture. It beats Samsung this time.
Justin Beast According to the reviews I read Samsung OLED smartohone panels are still the best and that's normal, as they have tremendous know how and they have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in such panels. As for the UI since the S6 especially since the S7 there's no lag and I generally find it more aesthetically pleasing and more feature packed than LG'S skin. OnePlus makes the best skin but its not the flagship killer anymore. As for the V30's apperture like the number of megapixels it is indicative of an image quality but doesn't necessarily bring better pictures to the table. I'd say that I prefer LG'S wider picture format though. For the stereo speakers and the rest I agree, but my goal was not to compare the two companies. Of course I'd like stereo speakers from Sammy as well.
I guess there's no top phone with front speakers, not even upcoming, right? (not counting U11) need a new phone but all feels like a downgrade from htc one e8 in this regard
If you're looking for performance SD820 to SD835 is not a big jump. I'd suggest waiting another 3 weeks for Mate 10 which will be faster because it has newer chipset (Kirin 970) but how much faster is still unknown.
That defeats the purpose of having a selfie camera. You also can't see to frame yourself while taking the selfie. The LG G4 had an 8mp selfie camera with autofocus (a MUCH better camera than the G6... Why??)
@ya00007 I didn't buy the Samsung S7 Edge because it has a bad selfie camera too (only 5 mp)! The LG S4 (8mp) has a better selfie than the Edge S7 (5mp). Buy the google Pixel or the Samsung S8 . Samsung FINALLY upgraded the selfie to an 8mp camera with auto-focus. I bought the Samsung Galaxy S8. It's a lot more money. If you wait around Christmas or after Christmas there are usually really good sales on Samsung's though. OR for a dirt cheap phone (if you really need a good selfie camera cheap)--the LG S5 had a 8 mp selfie camera! The LG S4 and S5 had better selfie cameras than the LG S6.
Except I was expecting this phone to come with at least 6gb of RAM but it didn't. Will have to worry about memory management and the performance after the Android O update.
LG v30... Just got rid of the G6... Have a Galaxy S9... And all down pretty much... This phone is awesome! Know that. The screen is beautiful and it is super fast... Look at the comparisons online to the S8 and has not ..No need for 6 rams
I agree LG is not targeting mass, well that's what they have been doing from past 2-3 years, "experimenting". Having a good selfie cam hurts no one, essentially it's as important as any rear cam these days. What do you think, lack of a well balanced OIS makes any smartphone bad, especially when one is promoting it as a cine phone, it's a must have feature imo. Well, the OIS doesn't works as good as Note8's, so does v30 owner has to carry a tripod as well? is that something you agree with? Well then, "ironically" that just defeats the purpose behind getting V30, I think it's better to get a mirroless camera for all the shooting needs and a proper phone for all the mobile needs. The Cinema features in V30 sounds really cool, but just for first few weeks after that, it's becomes another LG's gimmick!
V30 boss here. My favorite, however if you wanna know it’s ( The DAC) not that much better than the one in the V20 which I still have. The presets tho are good, it as my main option of choice when purchasing. I spent a lot but I’m enjoying it. Having both V30,20 is good. It’s a dope phone.

Vico Fischer Yes it is, people say it's because of the software that is still in beta, but I don't think that's the case entirely. Better get the iPhone 8 or X and if you prefer android then go with the Note8 or just wait for Pixel 2 or UltraPixel. V30 sounds like a great mobile phone, but sadly that's not how it performs practically, maybe it'll get better next year "more stable and consumer friendly."

Excellent review! Quick, short, but concise! I used the same word you utilized, "LG nailed it"! Perfection? No. But they have something for everyone. And although I've been lucky as my LG G3 is still purring just fine, I've wanted a new phone. The LG G6 was too rushed in my opinion but the LG V30 nails it with what I use a phone for.

I don't do many reviews. But, for a smart phone that seems to have everything at ones finger tips and the options to customize them is truly smart design. For the overall presentation given on this device I give it HIGH marks in all areas. The presenter in this review did an outstanding job and for that alone will make me a new subscriber to this channel. Great video Angie, LG have made some camera improvements with Oreo update & it just runs and works beautifully now,... Also, you do look rather stunning in this video 😀
