That's not how the puzzle worked. You have to decipher the code and translate it into a radio station. Which was where our confusion came in :)

+Dash This is also known as the "Why you shouldn't LP adventure/puzzle games you don't already know the solutions too" rule. In effect, some significant portion of your audience will, instead of enjoying content go "OMG its right there! The bloody key is right under your nose...no don't go into the other room you moron wtf!" or so on. Its why I avoid Blind LPs of such games from anyone who doesn't do a tremendous amount of editing, which takes a great deal of time/effort.

+BladedEdge123 but a blind let's play is the only way to vicariously experience someone's first impression of a game. The amazement, the elation, the surprise. There is an element of shouting at the screen, but if you can get past that then there's much more enjoyment to be had. But I'm admittedly pretty biased in this area.

JimPlaysGames I agree with you on every single type of game, except for the adventure/puzzle genre. Watching someone sit and stare blankly at the screen, or wander around places, or try inventory 1-10 on objects A-Z for 20 minutes..when you figured out the solution 2 minutes isn't fun, its infuriating. Its 'skip to the part he solves it". Where as, advanced LP techniques can let you replicate the sense of discovery, allowing the illusion of the first time play, without all the issues that come with trying to solve a puzzle. There is a big differnce in giving the audience, say, a minute to solve the problem on their own, and then 'stumbling' into the solution..and trying to solve it for 20 minutes yourself. The use of editing can lessen the issue of course, by cutting out all the dead-air as it were of wandering (or just staring blankly at the puzzle-games screen thinking). But see, both of those are harder to do. Which is why I have always been an advocate of the "Don't blind LP certain genres". Not all, story-driven experiences, randomly generated, FPS, Strategy games, etc etc. All of those are fine to blind LP and often better for it, at least from people who don't take the time to add an amount of 'acting' (i.e. not admitting to knowing that shotgun is for the boss up ahead even though you know for example) or heavy skillful editing. I expect neither of these from most people. And in the end, it is just my preference. I am the sort who can not stand to spend 20 minutes watch someone waste my time. If you see it differently, good for you. Do as you like, or watch what you like. Its opinion. Even though I state it as a rule, its not 'the one true way'. Just one way of looking at it, and my long-winded reason for it.

+BladedEdge123 I agree that editing out boring parts or repetition is vital. I've been bored by someone spending too long just blundering around too. I often try to make something of the wasted footage. Like making a joke of it, creating a fail montage set to music with a counter of how many times I died. However I've never tried to act like I didn't know something about what's coming next. I'm just not a good actor and it would come across as fake. I always try to go for sincerity and a genuine response.

+chickenw1re Eh? They were both kinda terrible and you didn't even get to see the instructions she was using. The point is that neither person has any idea of what to do. And Clint's hints were like "it's a simon." "A simon?" "You know, like the a game simon."

+Ryan N We actually did fairly well. We defused the majority of the modules we attempted in the playthrough, then successfully defused the bomb in record time on only the third attempt while having never played this game. It's actually incredibly overwhelming (but fun), so I can't WAIT for people who are busting our asses to play this.

Simon says is deceptively simple, When yellow flashes you press red, so when yellow and green flashes you press red and another colour (according to the manual it is green). What trips people up are the number of strikes, which is how many times you made a mistake, which are displayed as red * just above the clock
