@Will Clauson I Don't think so if ever they will keep updating the game thats just a based game but i see alot of detail already that would make the game lively and realistic unlike sims 4 i just hate it now that they're bigger they're not making effort to their game anymore its more like for $$$ i love sims 2 more than 4 i end up not playing it the characters is so exaggerated and robotic they acting like a crackheads
@Will Clauson do you have any proof for that or are you just a pessimistic person? Paralives have reached a few goals now and will hire more people to have a 10 person team in a short while. Cities skylines was also made by a small team of this size. And you know what that game did to Simcity 2013. It's also a passion project and it shows. Just look at what the 3 person team has achieved in a year. Just compare that to the massive over 100 people large Maxis team at EA, that produces the Sims 4.
+kim MILLER Even as far as comparing both base games on their own, there's so much missing from the Sims 4. I understand there are technical limitations and things, but they excluded some things that we've had since 2004 with the Sims 2! (Cough, cough, *toddlers*)
I havnt really played the sims 4 ever so I can't say much but the one reson I'm kinda put off is becuase you can't play as your pets without a mod and you don't have horses.
I just love doing the daycare thing until they throw 8 toddlers at me and my sim ends up crying herself 2 sleep every night until she's an elder and realizes that it's too late to fulfill her lifetime wish of "surrounded by family" because she is barren and never left any time to woo hoo
Multiapplecat seasons was actually my first expansion, then late night and by the time I was 10 I had all expansions and 2 stuff packs. But the thing is I lost the seasons disk (the rest I had gotten off of origin) so origin decide to forget I ever owned seasons so now that I am 14 I have to rebut it and I never got Katy perry sweet treats and I will get that too but I don't think my mom will have a problem with me buying seasons now because when she first got it I believe it was $30-$40 now it's $20
I'm sure LGR meant it facetiously back then because they've sucked for at least a couple decades, but they did at least have a better ratio of good to bad games.
Reputation system sucks in ts4. I may cheat, have children from different ppl from all over the world being married and no one will give a thing. And no gossips. In the sims 3 they were fun, actually.
@@adlazmdegil-2933 Well that's just cruel. Mind you, that kind of thing used to happen if they died before the wedding. Not if they were actually married, though.
Ah, actually it is now: 1. Parenthood Game Pack 2. Kids Stuff Pack 3. Toddler Stuff Pack 4. Backyard Stuff Pack 5. Highschool Years Expansion Pack 6. My Wedding Stories Game Pack 7. Growing Together Expansion Pack Because after their $150 grift EA is giving folks generations with the Growing Together EP. But to get all that was in TS3, you must purchase these 7 packs and endure with all of the bugs HS & WS has introduced to the game. Growing Together is coming soon, so no verdict on bugs, but there will probably be new bugs.
@@tlogic open high schools is too big to just go into one generations pack. It’s so much better that they take a small topic and expands it. It doesn’t make sense to keep giving us the same things from past games when we can go back and play old ones
@@Lyfeasjay IF that was what they were doing. Go back and revisit the TS2 & TS3 packs - you really expanded the game with them. Heck Making Magic or whatever that witch pack is, just reuses much of what the Scientist does in Get Together.
Looking back on this Parenthood is really really sad and bare compared to this and just makes me very disappointed on what could be for the next gen of Sims
@@dorian6970 yeah parenthood is $20 a gamepack. generations was $40 (now $20 as well, but it was $40 at time of release) and was a full-fledged expansion. they're not comparable in any-way besides having a somewhat similar family-style theme
i actually really enjoy parenthood...well, relatively at least. it’s one of the few sims 4 packs i don’t regret purchasing simply for the fact that it’s something i can continue to use. i like where they were going with it, but it’s no generations. that’s for sure. i wish they would have added more content to it and made it an expansion instead. there’s so many things that could fall into the “family” realm, so it wouldn’t have been difficult. it just seems odd to me that they’d put a family-themed pack in the same category as like...camping, when one clearly has more options for content than the other. but oh well, i’d rather purchase a missed opportunity than something that’s just bad all-around.
Honestly, Sims 4 is utter shit compared to all the stuff you could do in sims 3. You're supposed to improve when a new game is released, not take five steps backwards
Vanessa Ferrer parenthood and generations *aren’t* the same pack! and parenthood is a game pack *not* an expansion pack!! We still have around *2 years* left of the s4 so would could get a *much better* generations pack for the s4
THIS. THIS, is what the sims 4 expansion packs are all lacking. This detail. All of the shit in this one pack, is like in 4 packs of the sims 4- so like, quadruple the money. Bs.
Watching this after sims 4 growing together came out and comparing the two. How the mighty have fallen, seeing what we once had compared to what we get now makes me wanna set EA studios on fire.
Can we all the sims we just hack the sims and get the codes for sims 3 and fix it up and make it free to everyone and make it a different name evan through its the same game and we just stole it lol
The infant life stage is great and I hate to say it, but the Sims 4 toddlers were the best ones we ever had (when we finally got them). But the kids and teens in Sims 4 just suck :(.
Yeah that's one thing I'm not crazy about in the EP's for sims 4. They aren't bad per se, it's just that they seem like they don't have the extended amount of game play that sims 2 and 3 would add.
I found Get Together to actually be far superior. It gaves my sims something to do when they left the house and even a reason to actually leave. I found the club system too be just plain hilarious and you can an infinite amount of things with them if you enjoy the feature. 350+ New items were a welcome addition although I can understand why some weren't astounded by the aesthetic. Personally I found Get To Work to be 'Eh' because the Active Careers are very specialized and the retail system leaves a lot to be desired. The thing I enjoyed the most were the CAS items, other than that I wasn't impressed.
Jackalope Wrangler Yeah I see a lot of people who seem to have really liked Get Together. It just really fell flat for me. I hardly ever play Sims 4 and I briefly tried Get Together out. I liked the town but that's about it. For whatever reason I just can't seem to get into Sims 4. :(
Getting into the sims in general isn't easy for a lot of people. It's not your typical game, it's life simulation. Sims 4 unlike previous sims game is very focused on the Sims gameplay in comparison to 100% customization then it was in Sims 1 - 3. With the removal of the Create a Style system and seeing a lot less content in Stuff and Expansion packs when it comes to variety. You need too enjoy playing as your sims in regards too just having a lot of content too build and create with. Get To Work gave us a lot more stuff to build and create with. However when it came down to Sims Gameplay it did not bring much to do. It brought in Active Careers which some people just plain find annoying to do, and retail, which really doesn't involve much hands on interactivity. Get Together brought not quite as much content then Get to Work, with around the same amount of items but less CAS items and actual building implements (No new Beams like in GTW etc.), however it brought A LOT of things to do with your sims by introducing a lot of fun new community lots and things to do on the lots. The Club system is SO much fun when you get invested in them, as the possibilities are so extensive. By allowing you too make simple books clubs too clubs about people who dress up in Knight suits and Hotdogs pants and run around Dancing on peoples lawns. BatmanFanGirl

Eh, I like get together more than I like Get to work
honestly 7 years later i still have been rewatching these sims 3 reviews from you for YEARS.. i wish they never added sims 4 and just updated sims 3 sometimes
These comments are so interesting. People hated so much on sims 3, telling over and over that sims 2 was way better and asking please for sims4 to come out. Now is sims 4 turn.
new code mixing with old code would be problematic as it apparently is in TS4 now, which has been going on for seven years now. A remaster being compatible for 64bit computers would be great so it could actually run well for current PCs because I myself have to run it in compatability mode tl;dr a 64bit overhaul for Sims 3 would be great but EA could never
@@TheNickleChick nah we need improved sims 3 graphics without the potato face problem, who would want it to look like a cheap mobile game like the sims 4 does
WE NEED EPs LIKE THIS FOR THE SIMS 4. Sooooo immersive and loaded with gameplay! I much prefer the look and feel of the sims 4, but the actual gameplay content of the sims 3 is so much better...
The base game isn't capable of supporting anything of substance. For my taste the Sims 4 graphic design a little too cartoonish, I'd welcome a proper rehash of the Sims 3.
I love how many people are here watching old Sims 3 reviews because they’re fed up with Sims 4 and wishing for better times 😂 This includes myself to be fair
Sims 3 Generations $40 (now $20 on sale $10) To get small portions of it in The Sims 4 you need..... Parenthood $20 Growing Together $40 Toddler Stuff $10 Kids Room Stuff $10 High School Years $40 My Wedding Stories $20 Total: $140 (minus tax) and you're still missing loads of content from imaginary friends to the active daycare job let alone cars.
to be fair, a lot of the sims 4 makes sense on paper, the issue is the execution. Like, they've said the reason why they cut the way the town works compared to the sims 3 was because they didn't want their to be performance issues on lower end PCs, which was an issue with sims 3 though most of its life. Sims has always and will always be a casual game, and its kinda wacky looking back and two and three and realizing how fucking beefy of a PC it actually needed at launch.
@@doctorvontacos4568yeah but them spreading out packs is crazy when sims 3 wasn’t as greedy we should at least get supernatural sims all together not spilt into like four packs
@@doctorvontacos4568Yeahhhh, pretty sure the main reason the open world town was cut out is because Sims 4 was originally going to be a spinoff online game Project Olympus. I seriously can't believe that open world and create-a-style was so technologically advanced that it was impossible for the developers to implement those without causing major lag. I mean, for crying out loud in the Sims 2 the neighborhoods are 3d and you can plop down custom lots lol which is more advanced than whatever the Sims 4 has. So unless technology regressed then there's simply no excuse.
+Lazy Game Reviews Thanks so much for all the help on the sims 3 u got me convinced to get it and even got me convinced to get seasons, pets, and generations! my mom is gonna let me get generations! anyways thanks for all the help in these expansion packs!
Omg! Just watching these old sims 3 videos I’m wondering why I ever complained about sims 3. Besides the fact that the sims are play dough looking and the world looks kinda dark and gloomy we got so much more content! A sims 4 expansion pack review could never be this long.
Very true. I never complained about Sims 3 I LOVED it. But now with Sims 4 there is nothing close to my fav expansion Generations. I guess in a way Parenthood is as close as it get and yet it's doesn't even compare. Sims 3 is a better game but Sims 4 is a WAY better looking game. Hopefully Sims 5 they will bring back Sims 3 Gameplay. Because Sims 4 will never be anythinf close to it.
:/ Woah, I forgot how much better the expansions are for the Sims 3 opposed to the Sims 4. (SO much more is provided in those packs than EA have been doing nowadays). :/
This is probably my favorite sims 3 expansion. It is soooo in depth and added TONS of new gameplay that we had never seen before. And it's all realistic and is usable in a normal sims household. I wish sims 4 packs were this in-depth.
In my game my teen got grounded for being out too late, then missed school because the parents wouldn't let them leave. Then got grounded even more for missing school.
I never really understood why rabbit holes pissed people off. Sure, if you were a single sim, rabbit holes were a bit annoying, seeing your sim dissapear for hours of sim-day while you stare at the screen. But how is that much different than the Sims 2 where the same thing happened, you just stared at the empty house until they returned? And they were a god send for large families, because micromanaging 3+ sims at once gets annoying fast. Rabbit holes allow you to take your attention away from that one Sim, alleviating the amount of sims you need to keep a close eye on.
@@medicindisquise4271 because it ended up being overused later for them just not wanting to properly add a feature. For example the greenhouse. No reason thst couldn't ne an intractable lot other than they didn't feel like it.
Man Growing Together is sad compared to this... only thing that caught my eye in that one was customizable treehouses. Generations by comparison is still my favourite TS3 expansion of all time.
Why??? Just why we don't have all of this things in Sims 4?????? I bet that if we even get something remotely similar to this, we would have to pay for a huge amount of extra expansions just to have it all... And I'm not even talking about all the time it would take. I'm sad :(
Sims 3 was great for gameplay, but it crashed and froze all the time, even on the most advanced gaming PCs. Since a lot of people played on laptops that's why we got the sims 4. However they should have made sims 4 packs less expensive imo
A lot of people thought the imaginary friends were weird, and creepy...and those people wouldn't be wrong. That being said, I loved the imaginary friends! I wish they'd bring them back for The Sims 4.
That is because fans of the series request them to convert old expansion from Sims 1 & 2. Oh, and ofc. EA loves to get money for just polishing up some old stuffs and include them in the newest.
Watching this in 2023 makes Sims 4 feel even more empty. I decided to play 4 again last week after years of not touching it, and after a few days I got bored and thought that maybe I just wasn't into Sims anymore. Felt like installing 3 again because why not and I'm having a blast. Sims 4 is pathetic lol
Now I hope I'm not alone when I say sims 3 is better than sims 4 (at least the gameplay) I think there's more stuff to do and the sims look realistic without a bunch of cc
it’s been years since this game was done and over and we have this sims 4 now but this game will always be superior because with the sims 3 we got 2-3 expansions a year and they would all be great(except for the lagging in island paradise which can be fixed by deleting a couple families, house boats/houses and one lot) but the sims 4 got boring and i have since uninstalled it and went back to playing the sims 3 i just couldn’t let go of open world and the other stuff and with sims 4 we’re getting 1 expansion pack per year and a whole bunch of stuff packs that could’ve been made as one like why did we get pets as an expansion pack then get my first pet stuff they could’ve just been one and vampires why not just make a supernatural expansion pack and if we introduced toddlers into the sims 4 earlier we couldn’t have the kids stuff pack and toddler stuff pack as one as well also we all really hoped parenthood could maybe come close to generations then it didn’t it was an off brand version of this but this is just my opinion and if you don’t agree so be it but i just think the sims 3 is far more superior
I remember I was playing a very dramatic save game and after one of my sims had a baby I got the notification that people were gossiping about her having a child out of wedlock. No one seemed to care that the father was her sister's husband though....
Being able to watch your old home videos on the TV is so adorable. I have the option to have slumber parties, but I don't have Generations. How does one initiate a slumber party? I have the Lifetime Happiness goal, but I can't seem to actually fulfill it.
POV: You are looking for a comment from 2011 saying that this expansion sucks and they know the next sims game when it comes out will be better so you can argue with them.
I can’t believe I watched this when it first came out. I just wanted to say this (I know you probably won’t see this) but I really appreciate you adding that picture of the Star Trek generations thing in the beginning. Little teenage me definitely didn’t appreciate that as much as adult me does. 😂
To be honest, I don't have the slightest idea of why people used to hate TS3 that much when it was released. I understand that the lag and crashing into your game was something they should have fixed. But it's a game that adds a lot of more things than TS2 and the open world is something amazing.
This expansion is basically everything you wanted to do in Sims 3 that isn't an option. With everything that it includes, its what i call a perfect expansion pack. They should really bundle this with the Starter Pack instead of Late Night, Generations is far more essential for any player.
It amazes me that the console release of sims three had a lot of small pack items, I remember pets not only including pets in the game but also aspects from things like generations with the chemistry set and inventing from aspirations. Meanwhile sims four is just boring on Xbox :(
That was a limitation of the consoles probably not supporting the full on expansion model Nowadays, we can have it function just like the PC version, but that comes with all of the downsides of actual TS4
Well Maxis is just a Shell of what it was in the past. Most people working on 1,2 and 3 are long gone. Many people working on 4 moved over from the mobile department. Maybe that puts things into perspective and explains why the Sims 4 is so lackluster even 6 years after launch. Personally I'm not buying any pack anymore for 4, because I want the Sims to improve and become great again. 😅
Gameplay is incredibly better in Sims 3. The only thing Sims 4 has over Sims 3 is the sims look better (and it's easier to make them look distinctly different from each other) and building in Sims 4 is easier. That's it.
Pilot Missy I love generations because everyone had a let’s play for it and WROLD adventures takes away the normal game play cause you CAN get bored you know
