I learned of her passing that very night. Patrick Watson beamed the terrible news out into the darkness, in the middle of snowstorm that was gobbling Eastern America everywhere from Montreal all the way down to New York City. I had been waiting for her tour to reach English Canada since the preceding April, when she'd released her final, self-titled album. She'd given a few concerts in Europe and Scandinavia in August and September. And then we were told she'd ended the tour prematurely for _health reasons._ I was not expecting her end to come so soon. I was in old Montréal, in the neighbourhood where I used to live, near the Beaudry metro stop, in 2017, for a concert marking 7 years since her passing. Her friends and family gave wonderful tributes. The most haunting moment was when they used the hall's sound system to play a recording of her telling stories and singing in concert. And it was almost as if she were still among us, hiding in the wings. As if it had all been a horrible joke. Alas, no.

this is not one of her last performance. This clip was taped from a Montreal show hosted by France Beaudoin in july 2006. Lhasa was there to support the Lebanese She came into the studio using her bicycle Such a sweet soul and soooo humble. I missed her dearly. The Foufoune Electrique, a club she knew, and the jazz festival, a place she use to go every summer...always on bike ! Montreal wont be the same next summer. i just dont want the summer to come. Merci pour la traduction du poème de Gibran. J'ai connu Llasa de Sela seulement après sa mort. Depuis, je ne cesse 6:08 de l'entendr😢e et de regretter son départ, trop tôt, trop injuste, trop inexplicable.
