That’s excellent to see them side by side AMD which algorithms the LHR actually has no difference at all. I’m comfortable with my 3080 LHR in my gaming rig
Red panda I have a question. The question is that should I get into mining I was gonna put 700$-1k$ into a rig but ik that eth is going to pos what should I do?
At least Zotac improved, unlike many manufacturers lol. Going to be sticking to last gen secondhand cards, cheaper price point and some very efficient ones. If power cost wasn't a HUGE issue I'd be buying more new cards but stuck in the UK lol. Thanks for the vid, always welcome to see another from you RPM.
@redpandamining Great video. I have the same LHR card and get wildly different hashrates on both ETH/ALPH dual mine. I used your OC settings and the best o can squeak out is 67 on ETH and 501 on ALPH. Which version of T-Rex are you using? Do you set the intensity within trex or on the flight sheet? Thanks for the thorough review, bro!
whats most interesting to me is that the software reported is so under estimated. a lot of users don't realize this. would love to see hiveos improve that somehow... Although I'd rather they add memory temps to nvidia GPUs first
@@OverdriveTech Thank you, do you think the 6700 xt is a good GPU to choose for mining? It's very good at dual mining but I don't know what will happen after eth 2.0
Do you have any tips about cable maintenance? I have been running a rig for about a year now and lately i've been noticing the pcie cables starting to fall apart. I've seen the same type of deterioration in all of my cables except psu cables. One or two singular cords are falling out from the plastic adapter head on its on. This is happening in my pcie 8slot to pcie 6+2, in my 8slot to 6+2 to 6+2x2 and in my dual psu adapter. My fix has just been to stick them back in and hope they make contact, but they dont stay back very well and are loose and they tend to fall out again after some time. I have had a lot of troubles too lately and i'm wondering if there is some cables that have insufficient contact inside due to breaking. Psu shutting down on its own, one psu just started to melt. I had to basically rebuilt the whole rig while ago just to find out one pcie slot from psu shuts down and breaks the whole rig for some reason. Then the same psus plastics started to melt. Could the deteriorating problems with the shitty pcie splitters cause this to the rig and to the psus?
thanx for the informative video👍🏼 bro please make a video about how to use lhr cards for the maximum profits. maybe it's by mining other coins than ETH, maybe it's dual mining, etc... think that would be interesting. 👌🏼
Awesome video, thank you so much! I’m assuming you’re building your own rigs. If you don’t mind me asking how much cheaper would it be doing your own build vs buying ready made? -thanks 😎
Very interesting. I had been hearing ERGO problems from LHR, but perhaps that is not the case. Looking forward to your other videos testing this. Surprising no one has really done these tests. I bought a 3080LHR for $1400 in December from an ebay auction. An EVGA ULTRA HYBRID with the water cooling. Actually is less then EVGA is selling them for online so buying 3080’s is a good business rn. I think 3070ti’s look to be the best right now though.
Dual mining is like the ultimate benchmark for your gpus. I've got 3080s that do between 98.4mhs/1980mhs to 99.2mhs/2340mhs dual mining eth/ton at the same power limit. It helps with just about every other mineable coin if you know what you're looking at
Hey pal, a little help please? I have the 3080 Trinity OC, i tried -502 Core, up to +1800 Memory, 80% power limit from MSI Afterburner. Kryptex keeps fluctuating between 50-70MH, but it's mostly around 60MH. Also tried +2000 memory but it crashes. What am i doing wrong and what should i be doing to achieve the magical 74MH, stable?
Amazing video man, however i do have a question. If i use a MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 Video Card RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X 10G OC LHR will it have almost the same Mh as the ones you used?
actually they are both lhr :/ non lhr is only founders edition cards. And the biggest part is founders editions has better chips inside as nvidia amd they only give away bad stuff to 3 party and put best garde stuff in founders. So 3 party adds big fancy coolers , makes them look good ,makes them rgb you name it. But i give 100% adding all this stuff to founders chip and video card will wayway more. :) Also they control 3 party video cards. Like if they want they can just simply bancrupt any of these companies.
Hey RPM, thank you for another great video, do you think the 6700 xt is a good GPU to choose for mining? It's very good at dual mining but I don't know what will happen after eth 2.0
Whenever u look at the stats of the AMD cards they seem to be overshadowed by the NVIDIA cards. They have ok performance but their ROI times are just longer compared to RTX cards. I just bought a 3070ti for a pretty great price tbh. I would certainly recommend the 3070ti vs 6700xt. However, when I build a gaming PC later this year - if I’m not using 7000 or 4000 series gpu - I will be buying a 6900 because they’re great gaming performance for the price.
@@SevericK_BooM thanks for the great information, yeah 3070ti is one of my favorite cards, but when I'm looking at dual mining hashrates, I can see that 6700xts are doing great for example mining eth+ton, 6700xt hashrates are (eth: 46, ton: 2.2) consuming 128w, compare to the 3070ti that hashes around (eth:56, ton: 1.3) at 230w. seems 6700xt is doing great and is more efficient and with that being said I could buy 3070ti for $1050 and 6700xt for about $850. Which one should I go?
@@Reyeston007 not at all efficiency is key only 3080s lhr makes much sense to purchase no that bad as RPM stated. I run 3070 non lhr rigs , 3070tis lhr watts to mh rate is terrible
3070s non lhr 118 watts @62 only lhr 3070tis can match at a high wattage rate . Instead of running a lot of LHR cards that have a 30-50 wattage increase i run non lhr and there now another spot for a extra card
@@RedPandaMining oh trust me I know. I just play around with them for hours perfecting the oc. They all need a little diff love but have you messed around with undervolting? I have also got my 3090 ftw3 ultra running 124.9mhs @ 289w and my 3070 laptop at 105w pushing 64mhs and temps are low 50s lol. Undervolting is the key for me and pushing the vram high. I feel like one thing on my side is cooling though. I’m just mining on my 3 personal gaming rigs. I have had a ton of diff cards just testing and tuning and learning. Worst experience though was a 3070 lhr Evga I def feel like those are a pain and a half
RPM use more efficient settings with different algos. Especially with ETH, no non-LHR 3080 gpu should be pulling more than 230W to get that 100 MH/s. You can actually get higher hash rate with that amount of power. Efficiency is KING!
@Robert silicon lottery. I have non lhr 3080’s that pull 213w, 220w, 225w and this zotac one about 240w, i have a asus strix 3080 nonlhr pulling 260w. They are all different and the one 3080 nonlhr you have is not the same for everyone else! Have to understand all GPU’s are NOT the same exactly!
@@RedPandaMining Indeed a great point mate. Goes to show that not every 3080 must have the same OC settings. Especially in the vid, the two cards, lhr and non-lhr, would ideally be running different clock settings to achieve their best mining potential.
