Dear Walker Books, these ten minutes of Mr. Liam Neeson, reading A Monster Calls, with the skilful musical embellishment, were mesmerising. Please. Do Literature a favour and commission an unabridged audio book, Mr. Neeson reading, of Ness’ fantastic work. What a pleasure it would be!

Liam's voice is one of the most wonderfully indescribable voices I've ever heard. (The others are Heath Ledger's Joker voice, Jessie Eisenberg, Tom Hiddleston and Liev Schreiber) I grew up hearing him as Aslan and then as Qui-Gon Jin and now the Monster.

I like Liam Neeson so much. He's a good man. I even daydreaming that I wanna meet him, by chance and tells him that I'm his biggest fan and wanna be his friend. I'm only 3 minutes in, but I have to comment on this Conor character. Fucking love it. A newly turn teen with irrational thoughts and then immediately catches himself on how irrational these thoughts are, but when the events unfold as reality, he then realizes shit hit the fan. Great storytelling, I'm getting me this book.

This past Saturday I read A Monster Calls for the first time. Something told me when I started that morning that I needed to finish it that day, and so I did. The very next day, my mom died. And because of this book I felt prepared in a way I cannot even explain. I'm still reeling from it. From her death, of course, but also from this amazing thing that happened of this book entering me just in time. It's truly amazing.
