Great video. Thank you so much. I think I'm starting to get it: Unify your skeletal structure, joints and tendons. These are the areas you draw the main 'power' from Relax your main muscle groups (those you normally use for pushing, pulling etc). While your opponent uses these muscle groups (locking their body up), you pivot from your centre (using skeletal structure only). This makes the opponent an extension of your centre. So when you move, they move without moving. The force effects the opponent more, because they are furthest from your centre of balance. A centre of balance they are now connected to, because of their muscle tension and your muscles being relaxed (but with a locked skeletal structure pivoting from the centre). Tricky to put into words, I hope that makes some sense :) Peace.

@@RowdyGrunt started judo at 4 (plus some Ju-Jitsu and catch/hook wrestling basics), boxing at 7, kyokushin karate at 14 (and researching into Okinawan styles like Uechi-Ryū and Gōjū-ryū), Spent some time with Thai Boxing, Wing Chun, and JKD (more for the stick fighting techniques). At around 50 now (and with all that sparring experience), Its all about improving/better aligning the insides/structure/skeleton. And that, is best done slow and soft. It took a long time for me to understand the immense mountain of knowledge hidden therein. Years of fun, trying to unlock it Peace.

It does work in real fight except not like on this demo that can make people easily flying here and there in real fight the opponent will resist so it won't look magical but they have heavy punch even though they look relax but if someone like Mike Tyson fight with them we won't know who will win cause there is no real fight footage yet😂
@hudsonwong7109

@@rizenlute1452 Never see one work yet, the master always demonstrate in a style like he perform magic. So we just watch this like a magic show. The martial art should work but not like this. The origin of Tai Chi is from the Chan family and up to now they practice different styles and method .

It will work in real situation as well according to my own experiences. But like all martial arts it has limitations and in certain situations it won't work. For that you also need an additional style of martial arts like wing chun or boxing to overcome those limitations. No one style of martial arts can be enough for all situations. Plus everything is also dependent on the person more than the style. If a person has inadequate learning of any technique no technique will be enough.

One major gap in Taijiquan is the pursuit of martial skill. It's rare that a professional fighter attends Taijiquan Seminars but it is something we should welcome. There is far too much woo, magical thinking, in the internal style. A real challenge is the only way to know the Skill is Real, not just for fun.
@traditionalintegralmartial9629
@traditionalintegralmartial9629 2 года назад
Internal martial arts are above all a set of precise bodily principles that take a long time to acquire, so nothing "magical" but a lot of effort to succeed, and 90% of practitioners are fully aware of this. An intern practitioner who practices less than 6 hours per week will never be a serious level practitioner... I have never known a taichi practitioner who boasted of being invincible, but many normal people able to get out of a lot of bad times in reality, thanks to what they learned...

WHEN YOU RELAX AND SINK, YOU BODY WEIGHT WILL EFFECT THE OPPONENT BALANCE WITHOUT HE IS KNOWING IT. THAT IS WHY HE DOESN'T RESIST. HE HAS NOTHING TO RESIST. WHEN HE IS OUT OF BALANCE, IT'S TOO LATE TO REACT .

@Taoistimmortal 3 года назад
No, just clever body physic, relaxation to enable sensing direction of force and then use a subtle circular motion to return the force. That is ok for demonstration mostly but is very difficult to apply in combat.

@pistolsmith2644
@pistolsmith2644 3 года назад
@@Taoistimmortal ... Good explanation , sir! In a real combat/ fight, the MA user has to have agility of automatic body-response which can be gained from experience in the ring. Body strength is the priority of all real fight. Learning any MA but ignoring daily hard body-exercise leads the learner to be careless and become loser in any real fight.
@traditionalintegralmartial9629
@traditionalintegralmartial9629 2 года назад
@@Taoistimmortal It's not that hard to use in real combat, if you understand that it's directly related to reflexes and conditioned body mechanics. It is not a question of techniques but of bodily attitudes. Taichi in its current state is incomplete compared to its original art, but what it teaches is very useful. It is only necessary, with that, to practice another discipline more "sanchou" oriented .

Yes a Love it, I practice tai chi Wudang style sword and yang, Chen style for 20 years! And all you find on RU-vid are fake Martal Arts videos talking shit about tai chi not being a Martal art you can use in a fight! But you can I know because I have used it myself, I just don’t advertise it on RU-vid like some other Bad mouth people

If you try to catch a punch in your hand straight on it will hurt like when you catch a baseball. But if you can deflect the punch from the side it’s easy to brush the punch away because you are hitting it from the side. Same thing here. Notice at first he resists their force head on and it doesn’t work. On the second time he is subtly moving their force from a different direction. It’s like if you try to tackle someone head on, you will get a concussion. But if tackle them from the side perpendicularly it’s much easier. Watch again, he just changes direction of their force the second time.

@traditionalintegralmartial9629
@traditionalintegralmartial9629 7 месяцев назад
"try all this with someone that resists" This is precisely the basis of pushing work in Tai chi. The more you resist, the easier it will be for a practitioner to project you. You don't know what you're talking about, instead of saying "bring someone who..." go yourself and try to play with confirmed taiji practioner...
