Whether one is in favour of EU membership or not, Gary Gibbon is right. Nigel Farage did show commitment and he got what he campaigned for. I don't like the man, but I can acknowledge his clarity on the issue and to put it colloquially, one knows where you stand with him. This is in stark contrast to both Sir Ed Davey and Sir Keir Starmer who dilly and dally and pussyfoot around the issue of EU membership. Either they are in favour or are they aren't, but make it abundantly clear and work towards that goal. The people will follow. Sir Ed Davey would be better to speak with some backbone instead of hopping in and out of tractors, holding sheep and kayaking.

Saw a bunch of the Lib Dems in bmouth on Saturday night. Lots in 1805 the insanely expensive restaurant where a main course costs about £50 just on its own with no drinks or starters.

With Labour scared of upsetting the xenophobic Red Wallies, the Lib Dems are missing, perhaps the majority, who would want to see the UK in EFTA / EEA if not in the EU. That would meet the EU referendum result and moreover reflect the division of the vote. Putting the EU issue on page 46 is ridiculous.

I can't help thinking that building houses without a change in the law will just result in the rich buying them & then renting (at high rates) to the poor(er). The poor will still be priced out of owning or renting

I suppose he’s a decent enough chap, but I’ve lost faith in politics & Government in general. Keir Starmer will soon be our new prime minister but we’ll have more of the same. Homelessness, crime, anti social behaviour, not receiving your pension until you’re practically dead, the Gestapo styled enforcement of the TV licence, more policing, tougher jail sentences, affordable rent & housing, actually sorting out the immigration crisis, these are the things that matter to me & you’ll notice they all concern OUR Country. Let’s sort out our own problems instead of handing billions out to foreign countries for all sorts. We aren’t Great anymore & we aren’t an Empire, our standards are at an all time low.
