Thanks for sharing. The new design began in 1996. Some people call the older ones Onzas. The Libertads are among my favorite coins. Great design and much more limited mintage than ASE or SML. Thanks again
Just ordered one of these just to say I have one, it’s what ever ! I just want to compare the lady’s of different countries. To see who has the best looking lady’s on there coins . Over and out
Part of my strategy is doing these as 1 oz and fractional the premium sucks but from a prepping standpoint it's as good as constitutional but no need to translate, and in a non shtf future it's a beautiful coin with low mintage.
Cory W The shop I bought them from sold them to me for 50¢ less of a premium than the ASE. Probably could shop around though and it would vary per shop
Cory W it all depends on the year. Some years, due to economy or lower demand, they produce far fewer than average numbers. For example, 2014 only has 500,000 of the 1 oz minted and are more pricy than 2013. For the 2018, the ASE are cheaper by 1-3 dollars depending on where you buy.
I prefer the older design, myself. I tend to like chunkier pieces. I have a 5 oz Libertad. If you like them, you should get one. You'll love it. Keep the interesting videos coming. I think you will do well on here! I subbed you back.
I don't know how up you are on the more recent coins, but make sure to pick up a few of the Australian (Perth Mint) Dragon/Tiger coins. I got some of those and even the 2 oz high relief proof version. It's a beauty! :)
Mike L. Yeah i have been looking at those but the premiums are crazy right now! I’m kicking myself for not picking up the dragon tiger when it first came out
Silver/Stanger Is it really? That is crazy. I had no idea. I wonder how many other countries have coins bashing the US as i’m assuming this one is trying to do?
Ugh nope. Totally wrong. The Aztecs were nomad people, and they had this belief that their Gods would show them where to establish once they found an eagle eating a snake. They found the eagle with the snake perched on a cactus right in the middle of the Lake of Texcoco, where they founded Tenochtitlan, which after the Spanish conquest became Mexico City. The Eagle and the Snake are Mexico's coat of arms because of this, the US thing came centuries later, and no, we don't hate the US.
