I bought one the other day and I saw the look on my dads face when he saw it so I couldn't help but give it to him he loved it, now to get me another one
gotta love the 'tads!! ..another 'cool factor', is that the mexico city mint is the oldest mint in the western hemisphere. these libertads are made in the same place that actual pirate treasure came from centuries ago.
Man i would love to have a roll of those. Those are my favorite coin/round ever. I didn't even know they had rolls like that. Definitely on my list now. 💿👑
Such amazing coins! Photos and videos don’t really do these any justice. I just started a Libertad collection this year and they instantly became my favorite government bullion coin... BY FAR!!!
Dude I love the toned libertads! What a great pickup! I was addicted to libertads until I got back to my ASE stacking. The libertads do have a different kind of shine and the lettering on the edges are just a extra step mints don't like to take anymore and it's a shame. Great job Dragons!✌
I ordered 5 libertads the other day despite the premium and taxes being insane. I intend to accumulate 10 this year and 10 next year. I want 20 coins from all 7 major national mints (US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Australia, EU, and South Africa) + Buffalo rounds. The Libertads are the most expensive despite there being more silver in Mexico than anywhere in the world, so they should be the cheapest, but the Mexican government taxes the Hell out of them, so I have to hold my nose. Then I’ll probably buy a few 10 oz. bars and take a break. That’s the plan. 🥈🇲🇽
I have only three of them, the first three in my stack. I was tired of the newer style. Couldn't agree more with you that this older design with the lettering on the edge is much cooler than the newer design. 👍👍👍
Looking back after 4 years of stacking, I completed the Libertad album 1982-2023 with both types of the 1991, a sealed roll of 1986, 2 slabs 1998 MS67 & RP 2020 PF70, with quite bit of BUs, Proofs, & a just a few Reverse Proofs. I'm picking them up a couple at a time.
Great video thanks for sharing, nice score. I love the Mexican Libertad especially the older style but my LCS rarely has any. Might have to go to Tigard one of these days!
Hi Neighbor! Found a 1959 Silver Mexican peso while metal detecting with my Garrett machine. Many counterfeits out there, but the way you can tell is if they have the LIBERTAD on the edge of the rim. Mexico is the silver king country! And you got a 'dragon' coin, too! Happy Stackin' all! - Joey From (sunny) Seattle
Man your a lucky guy those are beyond beautiful, those older libertads are my favorite kind of bullion. These coins come in with high premiums where I'm from they are also are pretty damn rare, man i wish i had your luck paying $400 for them is a steal😀👍
Question: I just acquired a roll of 1983 Libertads and I immediately noticed the edge lettering starting and ending at different positions on the coin. Even some which had the lettering upside down... does anyone have input on this? Wondering if this is the case on your own Libertads.
I live in Hermosillo, Mexico and everybody could go to any Banco Azteca (mexican bank) and you can buy as many 1 oz Libertads as you want (if they are available). Today is $411 pesos for 1 oz Libertad, around $22 USD
Alekei Portugal alekei i go to Mexico City and Oaxaca monthly. Im new in this coin game. If i wanted to buy pure gold and silver coins there can i walk into any bank and ask? Thank you.
@@SilverDragons47 thanks my friend, still have no answer and i googled it about Mexican coins in their banks...nothing in English...when i fly down there, i will just go and ask...if they have them great...if not, what can i do...its a win win for me as im in Canada and the dollar here is worth more so its cheap for me to buy directly there..
I just stopped buying ASEs due to falling in love with the Libertads (pre 1993, love the writing on the side). This is a video that I've been hoping to see! YT Pr0n at its best 😂
Dip them, toned coins look dirty for the most part, cool looking colored rainbow toning can look good, but I don't get the fixation of rust brown toning, its horrid
Hey SD. Funny watching an older video. Question - the writing on the side of the libertads do no line up with each other correct? The ones in this vid are nice! I noticed the letters on the edges do not line up, so I was worried I had fakes. But none of them line up.
I got 4 of them 3 of them 85' and 1- 84 ' that is a toner you wouldn't believe. ! When i first seen it i was like something ifelt wrong then after he pulled out a roll of a few normal he wanted that toner back but i said not i buy all 4 of them . The tab is an Awsome coin ! A 100 or 150 would be nice ! At least 1 of wa. Year. 💯 💶 Love the writing on the edge myself.
If you go to a middle/big city in Mexico you can go to any Banco Azteca (mexican bank) and you can buy as many 1 oz Libertads BU as you want (if they are available). .. Today is $411 pesos for 1 oz Libertad BU, around $22 USD
Wow, that's a good deal indeed ! That's funny because I also one day want to buy a unopened Libertad roll. A 100 ? I see a new monsterbox challenge coming, but then Libertads instead of ASE's 😃
Do Mexican Libertads have a monster box? I can't find the answer online tbh. I found a bag looking thing but no box. I only have one and want to collect a box after I am done with my ASE box.
Victory Stackin' they would sell for much more individually but that is a lot of work... the rolls don’t really have that much of a premium from what I saw 😏🔥🐉
I see them for sale online but extremely high prices! In fact, last week I saw one well known dealer had 1 ounce Libertads listed at 74 dollars each! Why are they priced so high?
It depends what year! But generally speaking.. Libertads always have relatively low mintages and are beautiful coins. #1 in a lot of peoples eyes so they’re quite sought after. Hold their premiums well too.
Should be using gloves to protect the coins from oil from your hand/fingers. I love the coins and congrats on the find. They are the best looking coins period.
really tho. very few of us will ever have a mint roll of these, and even fewer of us would be willing to crack that puppy open. I'm glad i got to see it.
So $40 per coin is an ok price? If the spot price is currently around $28, how come they sell them for $40? I would have thought they’d sell them for about two bucks more for profit. And they still charged tax.
WOOW I really want to buy those, actually I'm mexican but I live in Canada, is really hard to find the coin here, and is less expensive in Mexico City. By the way the face with the angel is the Independence Victory and sourrounded by 2 volcanos, Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl,(prehispanic names) and the back face is the army shield symbol, and the leyend "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" Basically Mexican United States Sorry my english is not good enough!.... By the way, where did you buy those coins? Greetings!
Is the silver dust on your fingers from opening the roll, sanding some pour pieces, or did you meet a nice girl named Argenta down at the gentleman's club? Man, I have so many things on my list. A roll of Libertads is definitely near the top. This year.
