Liberty Tree Tavern Left Us Feeling Not Very Thankful 

The intros and banter during the recent videos are on a whole new level. Breath of fresh air.

Wow, the quality of these shows has gone through the roof! It’s amazing what a positive fun vibe you all have now. I wanted to love LTT when I went there but the food is SO eh. It is what it is~

Sorry to hear you three had a bad server and food experience. I will say that Liberty Tree is in a small list of restaurants that we will actually return to at WDW. Our family of 5 just went there a little over two weeks ago, and everything was fresh and had good taste (even the mac and cheese-seems like it is Velveeta but it was still at least average, my 14 year old had 3 servings of it). The pork looked different than what you had for some reason? Our pork was more like pork tenderloin shape. The salad dressing is one of our favorites not only at WDW but from all restaurants. I'm not sure what you are talking about with the vanilla ice cream quality, it seems fine for what it is and goes well with the dessert. I can't speak to any of the plant based or non dairy options. I think the majority of WDW guests will say if you are going to eat at MK, and have to please a wide variety of palettes, Liberty Tree is the way to go. Better luck next review!

Craig, my wife and I loved your commentary at the end of this video! We have felt for a long time that Disney is missing a huge opportunity to educate and celebrate our Founding Fathers and their fight for freedom in the Liberty Tree Tavern. Sure, they have some portraits and other memorabilia out, but that's it. It's very generic, and looks to be the result of minimal effort. We believe their cast members should be able to expand on at least some of the history behind the decor. You got that at the end of your visit and I bet you'll never forget it. We own a business, Philip Marc Sons of Liberty, where we have made this our mission - to educate and celebrate our patriotism and help others to do the same 🇺🇸 Thank you for doing just that on this video - we truly enjoyed it. Even if the mac and cheese was dry and boring 😉Side note - we dine at LTT often. We'll be back in our Happy Place the first week of December and my wife told me not to book LTT for this trip. After watching your video - we put it back on the list! I guess we're in the minority, but we really like the food there, even if we do leave needing a long winter's nap 😂

If you're not too concerned with which building you eat in the Diamond Horseshoe right next door has the exact same menu. Plus there's usually not much of a wait compared to Liberty Tree

Nooooo I am so disappointed you all had such a disappointing time. LTT is ALWAYS my go-to for MK for sit down meal. I've gone back multiple times during the same trip because it's so good especially for the price inside the park. It could be just really bad luck on your experience, though the former manager who I adored retired. Occasionally the pot roast can be fattier than I like but that's rare to miss. My servers have always been excellent as well. I do agree they missed some opportunities with naming. Preamble, etc... hahaha!

I have grown to love this trio. Erica will be missed.

We've went to the Liberty Tree Tavern, twice, both pre-COVID (2015 & 2017-ish). When my wife & I went in 2015, the service was the worst we've ever experienced in any restaurant, on or off property, where we were completely ignored (I'm not even sure if we left a tip). The meal itself was fantastic. We went again in 2017, food was just 'okay' but the service was good. It's hit or miss at this restaurant.

Shoutout to the CM picking up trash in rain behind Craig! We ate at LTT in June ‘21 because my hubby loves. He also loves Bob Evans, which is what LTT is. But our server was John. He was absolutely extraordinary. Brought my hubby a boat sized serving of cranberry stuff. And got me entirely new hot mushroom gravy. So amazing we asked him about himself. We was on loan from the still shuttered V&A. And determined to make thenLTT experience “elevated.” Inspired me in my work to do the same!

We were there 18 months ago and had pretty good service. The food was about what I expected.

Ltt is one of our favorites. We loved everything we ate and make an effort to go back once a trip. Sorry about the bad service. Sounds like you caught them on a really bad day. Try again maybe at another time?

LTT should specialize in pies for dessert. Apple and cherry available every day and specialty seasonal pies.

My family went in March 2022 and we all loved it, even my picky kids. My wife even found an imitation cranberry sauce recipe and is making it for thanksgiving

There is zero excuse for the chefs at any Disney property to not be able to pull off delicious dairy free mashed potatoes, stuffing and meatloaf, especially at those prices. It's pretty darn easy to do. If the home cooks of America who post their yummy recipes on Pinterest in the thousands can do it with no training, surely Disney's amazing chef team could rise to the occasion. Sorry Erika. You deserved better!!

Ate there in 2021. It was awful and the service was terrible. They sat us in the Golden Horseshoe. We would never go back. It was so unfortunate because I was really looking forward to it.

We were there for the first time in October and the food was tasty. Agree on the Mac n cheese-not good to us either. Food is subjective-what I like someone out there won’t. However, with that we arrived on time for our reservation but waited for almost about /20 minutes until they realized we’d been sitting for a while. Server was a delight but the hosts kind of dropped the ball. Overall, we’d go back but wouldn’t be crushed if we couldn’t get a reservation.

Well, we always like the food there. So, everyone has their own opinion. The last 3 times we were there we had 3 great servers; I think they just got one of the bad ones. Let's face it, all restaurants have a few servers that could improve, they got that one. ha!

Unfortunate for you folks as our family continually patronize Liberty Tree on every visit ... We were there in August, 100 degrees out and really cool inside ... had a great meal, server and time ... one of the best meals we had ... ( Boat House / Art's were also good ) ... Ohana is a no go ... LTree is a bit rushed but not near like Ohana ... food is family style and comfort food , just what we were looking for ... $42 is actually reasonable for WDW and quality was good for us ... good luck in your next food review ...

LTT is the 1st restaurant we ever ate at on our 1st trip to WDW in 2006 and we loved it…of course back then it was also a character dinner but each return visit it has kinda gone down our list of favorites…

We went to LTT two weeks ago. We thought it was quite good and a decent value. We were actually surprised how good the Mac and cheese was.

We went to Disney for 2 weeks last January. I was looking forward to this meal the most. And this was the one that let me down the most. I think we had the same server! He literally would walk away before we were done talking. He plopped the food down and would disappear for like 20 minutes. And then plopped the check down with the dessert and didn't come back for 15 minutes. However, this was a super fun video. Love watching these reviews.

Erica is right; lettuce is mostly water. It's why at our home we use spinach, which has some actual nutritional value. My wife and I had lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern on our 2013 trip. Lunch was wonderful; we shared a Colony Salad, a New England Pot Roast, and the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake, and our server was wonderful. (Even more delightful, for us, was the fact that she was from Peru, like my father. ) So I find it unfortunate that your experience was less than satisfactory; sounds like it could have been improved, somewhat, with a better server.

We've eat there once back when the DDP was available. The food was ok but the server only cared about his tip. He reminded us each time he visited our table (four times) that the tip wasn't included with the DDP. It was very off-putting. Haven't been back since.

The thing with most Disney restaurants is that they aren’t actual “chefs” making this food. It’s just cooks. And it’s food that is easy to make. Either out of box of quick Mac’s & Cheese. Unless it’s a “fine” dining restaurant.

I can’t wait until you guys hit 55 and go back to Liberty Tree Tavern to fully absorb every unappealing, cafeteria quality, 45 cent calorie that will stubbornly adhere above and below the belt no matter how many attractions you walk to! Good show.

Liberty Tree was literally the worst dining experience we’ve ever had at DW

There was a time when the Liberty Tree Tavern was a fine dining restaurant. The food and service was so good. I remember the Yankee PotRoast which was amazing and for the 20th anniversary they had a special dessert that I still remember. Also - does anyone remember Mickey butter (butter statue) served with your hot rolls. Attention to details and service have gone away.

I love Liberty Tree Tavern, but I think it can be hit or miss. I am a sucker for comfort food like this

Our last experience there was a very over salted meal. Becoming a trend in the World.

I have to say that I had the same experience with my server at LTT. We went for my 50th birthday and the server just very quickly dropped stuff off and left. Very little interaction. Quite a disappointing experience.

Craig and Rino useless don't waste your time

Liberty Tree Tavern has always been a favorite of mine because I love Turkey and all the sides. Having said that, I haven’t been in a couple of years. It is always hard to get reservations so one thing to know is that, at least as of a couple of years ago, you could get the same menu at the Diamond Horseshoe at the other end of the block.

Not like I ever wanted to go to LTT, but yikes! I'd like to see you guys review the Crystal Palace buffet!

That place was much better prior to the all you care to enjoy changes. They used to have excellent fried cheese appetizer, a grilled chicken salad with candied walnuts, cranberries and apples. They also had a warm grilled pound cake with ice cream dessert. Those were the days. Leave it to Disney to fix what isn’t broken.

Hey Craig my wife and I ran into u and Ryno at pop handful years ago eating lunch behind pop. Talking to you it was brought up your grandpa was brought up in the big city of Lisbon ohio which has the Johnny appleseed festival every fall. I live 30 minutes from Lisbon in salem ohio. I actually knew the man who played Abe Lincoln every year at the festival. I have a Lisbon historical book I bought to give you if we seen you again but it never happened yet. We come down in November, I can try again..lol

Liberty Tree seems like it's been going downhill for a few years. Went for the first time and loved it. Went 3 times once a year after that and each time it got progressively worse where the last may have been the worst sit down experience we had at Disney. Now that Skipper Canteen has become one of our favorites, we'll be hard pressed to go back

Great job with these reviews guys! This particular restaurant never appealed to me, but it’s a shame the quality isn’t better :/ Just wanted to make one observation about a comment Ryno made at the end about there not being music - I would think that would add to the authenticity, as there wouldn’t have been any music in such a tavern in the 18th Century. However, maybe they could have like, some other kinds of atmospheric sound effects in the background, as if a horses or Fife & Drum groups are passing by outside?

It’s possible the recipe has changed in the past year, but I have always liked the macaroni and cheese here. Most macaroni and cheese is too heavy for me with a very thick, crust of cheese on top. I like it here, because it’s lighter and without that crust.

Oh my experiences with Disney restaurants are always subpar and really over priced it’s a shame everything Disney touches they destroy these days

A few months ago, the pork we had was carved in slices like the turkey. What you were served looks like pulled pork. Our server seemed annoyed. Maybe we had the same one!

It's not hard to make delicious vegan mashed potatoes. My daughter makes them all the time along with vegan gravy, and it's so good. I don't mean it's good for vegan food. I mean it's GREAT!!! As far as the meatloaf goes, I don't understand. Impossible Meatloaf??? That's the best Disney can do? They can't create their own vegan meatloaf? Also, why don't they have vegan cheese to top on your salad? There are a lot of people that can't have dairy, my daughter being one of them. It's very disappointing that in 2023 Disney still has so few vegan options, and those that they do have are super lame and quite boring.

So funny. I always do Liberty when there. Last week i went to Liberty. My food seemed reheated and bland this time, no flavor. even my favorite, the beef pot roast, lacked , just fatty hunk of beef in the gravy. Staff..seemed..to be throwing things at me and rushing me. I asked for butter for my rolls and waiter seemed irritated, almost like i was slowing him down. Why no butter for rolls? Just another note this is the second time this has happened to me there. I am a single diner. they put me right next to the work area, at a table where it almost shares a table with a large group. Now, the large table gets more attention and a better attitude than I do. I promise you I am very kind to all I meet, almost too kind, but for the second time i get a bit of a HURRY UP tude. I really do think it is because I am a single diner and my tip is smaller than the table of 4 and 6. kinda sucks, meant to feel, 2nd class a bit. Liberty used to be my favorite, probably will not be back.

....not me recommending Diamond Horseshoe because it is the total opposite experience. WITH holiday decorations (fall and Christmas!)

Eric's stuffing looked like sweet potatoes😂 We ate here in 2017 and it was fabulous. In 2019, it had gone down and the service was quite bad. Gave it another shot in 2022 and it was so good with good service. Our son also eats the gluten free menu and he liked. Guess it's hit or miss. You guys are so funny😂 Love you all😊

Get the turkey dinner at Homecomin’! I had that last year on Thanksgiving and it was awesome! I’m pretty sure it was less money than you paid. 😊

Disney mac 'n' cheese always tastes like very off brand Velveeta to me. Like they wouldn't spring for the regular fake cheese and instead opted for some chemical concoction purchased off the back of a windowless van. The kind of thing that will metastasize and resurface later in a CT scan.

Back in the olden days, i went there for dinner with friends. This is back when it was Character Dining. Goofy, Chip, and Dale were there. It was towards the end of the night, and we were about the only people there. Chip & Dale just hung out with us, being crazy, dancing, and playing "bongo" on the tea bag box that was brought to the table! Then Goofy came over. We laughed until we were about sick! They all hung out with us for a half hour. So much fun. The food was better back then. Presentation was better. It's nice to have great memories there.

The AK Lodge ones would be nice the one with the animal views was it Sanaa??? that I want to do definitely on my Third and possible final trip in few yrs. Or the Space Restaurant, the Sea Restaurant with the Aquarium looks, some of the better Hotel Resort ones since some would be interesting. I ´ve aten in Ohana, Californian Grill in Contempo which has a Steakhouse something as well if I remember it correctly instead of the old Wave or so. Some Disney Springs ones maybe also not bad. But at the moment have to check on Disneyland CA and DCA plus DTD ones which the best ones would be for my stay in 2 yrs. Couple of I think sounds good I have focus on but wondering if QS even are really mostly better than the ones in WDW or in general there are claims that the Food in at the West Coast are mostly better???

This makes me sad. Liberty Tree was always on our top 10 list but for lunch off a regular menu. I never felt this option was worth the money and a it's a very heavy meal. Wishing they will bring back the old lunch menu.
