You can actually strip armor on liches; my cat hits their asses and turns their bars from yellow to red making them super weak. I'd also like to add that when you're still on the glyphs sequence part, they regain their armor when you advance into the next health bar.
Nyx is sooooooo underrated. She's really good for liches and sisters with the Assimilate augment. Completely damage immune with a defense strip on 2 and some good weapons makes any lich trivial. The defense strip removes the shield instantly, and it's been about a month or so since I last fought a lich or sister but I believe it can also strip armor. If it doesn't strip their armor, it'll at least still make the other nearby enemies easier to kill.
The tricky thing with Nyx can be that Absorb costs additional energy based on the damage it prevents. And level 5 Liches can hit extremely hard, causing you to run out of energy quickly. That was one of the issues the Kengineer ran into during testing.
If you are going for Ivara approach, consider its 4 augument, Concentrated Arrow. Artemis bow gets one arrow only, but it has higher crit rate on headshots, which is pretty much a perfect fit for what you're doing. Defensively, if you are using zenurik focus (and let's not kid ourselves, you are), liches are susceptible to Temporal Blast (alters your melee to slow things). For new players, just use Xoris heavy attack build for damage, it's crit based and cheap.
late to the video but a insanely powerfull weapons seems to be the kuva zarrs alt fire i saw someone oneshot headshot a lich with a single barrage without sonar or armor strip XD
I was wondering why some people were running Banshee in my game today and the liches died faster than the sergeant does when he sees other bosses get re-worked and not him.
My personal favorite method: Lift the lich up with Xaku (complete disable with infinite duration) and 1-2tap it with kuva zarr shrapnel to the head. Works every time :D Kuva hek also works ofc, but with zarr, you have a weapon that is also great for clearing trash so you wont have to switch your weapon at any point during the lich hunt.
@@ra1nyran dont know if it still works since i have not played for about a year. It used to work if you cast the „deny“ variant of the „the lost“ ability on the lich. The duration on the disable will be short because it is a special enemy but due to „the vast untime“ ability pausing all other ability durations, the lich would be disabled as long as you keep your „the vast untime“ active.
Thank you for this. I haven't thought of using pure crit weapons on the Lich. I've become over reliant on my Kuva Zarr as an end all be all weapon to solve all enemy problems. While it still does the job, I think its time to dust off the old Amprex and see how it fares.
There's also the old Synapse, seems great for this job with it's raw pure corrosive dmg crit build. Seems more specialized for the lich, but the Amprex does also take care of nearby trash mobs and can run the same build. Gotta love whipping out old favorites when they do just fine, especially if you never got rid of those rivens.
Mesa Ultimate ability seems to work well too. It's been my go to for most Liches and Sisters. Just hold down that fire button and you'll stagger them until they are dead. You might need to spend a lot of energy because of the damage reduction but it is a safe way to kill them. It'll wipe out any normal enemies nearby.
If you haven’t gotten to subsume gloom, frosts subsumed ability with augment does the job well too. I prefer gloom but frost wave works great to keep liches stay put. What I used before gloom.
My method for liches is as follows: I use Zephyr for my liches in one of two ways: If ranged lich, use Zephyr's third ability to make yourself immune to all projectiles. Special abilities like eximus attacks and explosives like from Bombard enemies will still cause problems, but the majority of enemies will be countered like this. If melee lich, use Zephyr's first ability to simply get yourself out of the lich's range of attack. Use the third in tandem with this to protect against enemy projectiles. Seeing as the majority of Zephyr's abilities are not strength based, I use a high efficiency/high duration build to get the abilities to the level they need to be. As for weapon, I like the Tenora Prime rifle, as it has a high fire rate, decent damage, good crit chance, and a large magazine. Subsuming Dispensary onto Zephyr with the high efficiency and high duration build means that Dispensary will stick around for the maximum 12 seconds and will barely cost anything to cast, basically giving you free energy. Add the energy regen mod to Zephyr and you'll be able to restock on ammo without even losing any of your energy pool. Additionally, using her fourth ability will keep any meddlers out of the fight long enough for you to knock down the lich, but you will still have to look out for the lich's thralls who are unaffected by crowd control powers... for some reason. Lastly, equip your weapon with either corrosive damage, as suggested here, or the element that correspond to the lich's weaknesses. I prefer that second option as I like a good challenge with my liches. While you don't need the Tenora Prime to pull this part off, a high fire rate weapon tends to be best, I found. As for finding the Requiem mod configuration, that takes trial and error, but if you have a Requiem Ultimatum, I recommend holding onto it until you've cracked the sequence, and preferably on an exterminate mission in the region the lich has taken for themself. Hope this helps any aspiring lich hunters. Tenora Prime can be purchased from other players or (I THINK) from relics or Prime Resurgence, and Zephyr is available from a clan's Tenno Lab Room, being extremely cheap to build for how powerful she actually is. Happy hunting, Tenno.
Best way I’ve come across is running a sevagoth with empower subsumed on the 3rd ability and umbral vitality and intensify as well as augur secrets and growing power in the augment. The rest of the mods are up to you, probably want to go for some range and efficiency but the point is with empower and growing power you can get to more than 90% slow with gloom and sevagoth’s 1 will make the lich more than 150% more vulnerable to all damage meaning you can literally do whatever you want cause the lich is much slower and a lot weaker to all damage so almost any weapon works as long as it’s decently built
As a Banshee enthusiast, I sometimes forget there are even tanky enemies besides ones unaffected by Sonar. On that note, I'd love it if Sonar/Magnetize etc. etc. etc. applied to everything, with reduced and capped effectiveness. Maybe Grendel can even eat some parts off an Eidolon to partially strip it's armor? I'm personally a big fan of everything working everywhere and NATURALLY being better or worse, but the definition of natural/organic gets weird. I think the way Acolytes cap status is a really cool way to make certain weapons better or worse, even if it's rather arbitrary, I think arbitrary caps are the easiest answer, and it beats doing nothing. I wonder if Banshee would become meta to boost amps and guns alike vs. Eidolons btw. Just as an example of what I'd deem very organic counters: A wide spread gun hitting all it's projectiles on bigger targets, especially if you're closer to them. We've got plenty of this with Plasmor-likes clearing hallways etc. too, more of this is always welcome. A more convoluted but still pretty organic and visually intuitive one: Quadratic dmg from gas/elec etc. scales hard vs. clusters of enemies, we could lean into that more and maybe buff these statuses a bit. My 1st example is executed well by Terraria's bubble gun. It's projectiles move slowly and have limited travel distance. You wanna be close to enemies to hit the full spread, but if they're chasing you, you gain effective range as they move into your projectiles. It'll also clear weak trash mobs by spreading out it's dmg potential over them, a cool side-job.
It's rather odd. I have been stripping Sisters (pls) with Shattering Impact recently, like 3 weeks recently. Takes a lot more time than an usual Corrupted Bombard, but it worked.
Yeah, my Vulpaphyla has had no trouble stripping their armor with Sharpened Claws, so it’s strange to hear that armor strip hasn’t been working for others
You know the easiest way to bypass the scaling resistances? Equip the same weapon on a Railjack on-call crew. It basically oneshots bosses, liches, or any high-scaling resistance enemies. I don't even bother anymore. Whenever I have to deal with it I call out my Railjack guy with a fully kitted Tenet Envoy (which is absolutely OP in the hands of a AI btw as they can precicely guide Multiple projectiles and even do 360 turns for them, also fire a lot faster) I think DE missed this bit. I've made my group members gawk in surprise with this little trick that not many are aware of. TL;DR - scaling doesn't apply against Railjack on-call crewmen
tried out both kuva hek and buffed kuva zarr, personally zarr is more useful as it could switch between mass AoE killing and single target high crit shotgun. Using nezha to neglect the self dmg stagger as zarr has 12m explosion radius with P.firestorm. nezha 2 to increase dmg on lich, and roar or eclipse on 4. Could one-shot rank5 lich with headshot. Using Nautilus's cold beam to proc 70% slow when in the final hunt.
this explains a lot. i have a full compliment of kuva weapons. i farmed EVERY SINGLE ONE as Ivara Prime. my vectis prime has a god-roll riven and primed chamber. i hit a level 5 lich 7 times and it falls down. i usually never get level 5 liches because i use Oull correctly. i usually kill it at level 2. so that same gun kinda needs two shots for a level 2 lich. my railjack and crew are capable of soloing in the veil, so that part is trivial. liches have never been hard for me. out of all 29 liches ive defeated less than 7 have ever seen me. cuz vectis go pop and i slink through the shadows.
Using Banshee, Nyx, and some other squishy frames seems fairly effective but the problem is when they're using strong toxin weapons like Ayanga, Grattler, or Zarr to name a few, they will completely bypass shieldgating, 2 shots you even with every single health mods added, and they're super accurate. So in the end I was forced to brute force my Ayanga toxin lich with Revenant.
Ivara is great not only for the augment, but as is with high Ability Strength as Prowl (3) increases headshot damage. Running the Quiver augment does help, but is by no means mandatory. My Baza Prime deals with the Lich quite effectively, not spending even a magazine for lvl 5 Lich, granted I got a Riven with Crit Chance and Toxin
Very few things annoy me in Warframe, but the fact that you spend hundreds of hours getting a great build for a great weapon, and then a lich just ignores 97% of the damage you deal fucking infuriates me
I just used cedo (built in CO isnt calculated in the damage reduction) and a kuva nukor primer with max fire rate but very low dps. Frame can be rhino with roar double dip, or tank like inaros.
been enjoying volt with gloom!! lich appears, activate gloom, place shields, then go to town with anything really, cedo and kuva twin stubbas are my go-to weps with primary/secondary deadhead, since headshots are easy with gloom on. extremely safe and easy method and pretty fun too.
my go to for liches is a saryn strength build and simply spore them and hide XD cause its corrosive damage it actually does rly good dps and ramps up to 200-500 dps very fast if u spread it to other enemys too also i saw someone oneshot a lich with a kuva zarr alt fire build on crit and ms
I found really funny that you found a use for Magnus prime when everyone thrash it. Nice vid ! My go to ? Kuva Karak with Argon scope, Simple but effective
The mod was exclusive to Glassmaker Nightwave so you can't get it anymore. Really stupid that they didn't bring it back for the prime, the weapon is useless otherwise.
Loki is my go-to Lich killer with Basmu + Glaive Prime as my go-to murmur farm + Lich kill tools. I haven't even updated my builds with the new mods and arcanes and they still melt
Xaku is a great option if, he can reduce defenses(at least he takes all the shildes from the lichs and sisters), and a fully stacked Grasp of Lohk just melt the enemies, no helminth need and I dont have any problems surviving. Mag bullies anyone who uses a gun, but the liches has reduced ability duration thing with it, it work with high duration. Ivara is normally my choice for the more annoying ones, she is so cheese, the huntress never fails. Gloom Banshee is amazing, I get high results with her too, normally using a pallet based gun, like the pyrana and kohm.
I used to solo with Ivara with a Vectis Prime silenced. Two, three headshots and the lich is dead. Getting to that point was the real pain when doing it solo
I usually play as Gara Prime and cast my 2 on me first for DR, and then on them, and just spam any weapon in the face. Works fine. Worst case on solo pick Ivara and save up some energy, go stealth and use your 4
I always used chroma with hirudo for health and the element of weakness (started using corrosive recently), but don't take it down lightning fast...my biggest issue is the quartakk grunt nasty bleed proc, it ignores all my armor (have defy subsumed on ice umbral chroma) .
I remember the trauma of one of the kuva liches I fought there were four of us and one of the players kuva lich had the kuva zarr kept 1 shotting us ( I was trying to upgrade my meele weapon to 30, using bubonico as my primary just incase. Idk how but the kuva lich had the ai of a hacker with aimbot )
I just helped a dude get his lich to lvl 5, who had a radiation grattler (he wanted to make it a crewmate). One of our missions was mobile defense, his lich was like lvl 3, not too bad. It happened to spawn during our defense, the first thing it does is turn and shoot at me while I was standing on the console spamming Proteas plasma cannon. Instant failure. Every other time it spawned in a small space and it downed us at least twice. Then I got bright and used Zephyrs wind shield thing, which worked well id say until it deflected a round into the wall and killed me anyway. 10/10 would do again.
I dunno if this is as effective as your methods but against a r4 Lich I use pellet based weapons like cedo, alt fire zarr or kuva hek. My Warframe is nezha with gloom and with a high str build his chakram makes enemies take a damage multiplier. Never tried it on a r5 but a r4 Lich goes down in like 2-3 shots to the head. I don't know if pellet based shotguns mess with the DR formulas but it tends to do massive damage to liches or sisters. Gloom also prevents the annoying teleporting
I used to use the Knell vs Liches. Revenant would stun with Mesmer skin and it'd melt their health bars. Now they have the adaptive ability resistance which makes abilities less useful... Unless you use Xaku with their infinite duration... and the Knell Prime...
I've ALWAYS taken Ivara to take down liches. And my favorite weapon of choice - Synapse. It's innate corrosive damage means I can mod it for the other elements my lich is weak to. And I have two VERY joocy rivens for the synapse, so it melts liches like a hot knife through warm butter. Ivara is my most used frame (more like 60+%), so I am very comfortable doing most missions as her, and Lich encounters are the new ones.
But did you fight a new level 5 lich/sis? They got a lot more reduction than before. People actively avoid raising them to rank 5 just to not have to build for their BS.
@@635574 yep - multiple times. And yes, at lvl5, it is a grind to burn down their armored health, and that's where the added benefit of having a base corrosive weapon + modding for liches weakness comes in. I think my longest kuva lich encounter was 25 minutes-ish long. Slow, but definitely going steady, plinking away. Ivara's cloak greatly helps reduce getting targeted by the fodder enemies nearby.
I imagine this applies to Sisters as well. I used to go Ash or Nyx to strips their armor, but aparently doesn't work anymore, so I was looking for another waym this was very helpful, I'll grab a Magnus Prime
Tip: 1) Banshsee + Luva Bramma for the win (or Kuva Hek) 2) Revenant + a good melee :) It's infinity stun and they can't get u while using melee 3) Also, having ensnare (Khora) make it easier for sure
My panzer vulpaphyla strips lich armor in like 6 seconds, combined with massive crit on Nataruk and Valkyr Talons plus the invulnerability with hysteria and yeah, liches are no problem. I hunt them to level 5 on purpose because it's more fun.
Use nezha for survability u'll literally be immortal with a good build, just spam his third ability and boom u turn into godmode it can also be a substitue for prime sure footed which is pretty amazing when ur a new player
I think the Liches should be in-between when it comes to armor stripping. You can strip up to 60-75% of their armor but no more than that. Take that with a grain of salt though.
I just use Limbo and shoot them in the head with my Zenith. Limbo's abilities function kinda weirdly with liches, and as long as you aren't getting hit in melee with them, you can keep them in your bubble with the timestop active and keep popping them in the head. They'll still be moving around, but as long as you keep moving out of their way they can't seem to get a good shot on you while in the bubble. At least, that's how I fought my Lich back when I still played. Granted, this was before the Sisters of PArvos update, so they might have changed it a bit since then.
I usually just take Inaros with Hirudo and box them to death ehe Also I remember using Rev when liches came out cuz his 3 does % max health dmg, which destroyed them in seconds. Don't know if it still works tho
i mostly just use exodia epidemic since it also stuns liches it takes a lot of time but hey, its reliable and i can run it on inaros for the purposes of not dying and status inmunity
My strategy is just Nyx with a Bubonico. It take a while to build energy without using a pizza, it's slow, and it could do a lot more damage I'm sure, but it gets the job done well enough even against 5's. Only time I struggled was against my Magnetic Nukor Lich, which is something i never want to experience ever again lmfao.
My problem isn’t damaging the liches, it’s getting the relics in the first place, and even if I do get the relics, I never get the require mods. I think I did get a requiem mod ONCE, but from the WRONG relic.
Do not feel sad for this Lich. She used his magnetic abilities to chuck me around or magnetize me *just* as I fired plenty enough times. She earned this.
May i ask for the explain of how the damage attenuation works? Not just like straight giving the answer of what build we should use, but like how it works
In brief, more incoming damage means more damage reduction (like I showed with the Nox table). The equation for precisely how much damage reduction is different for pretty much each enemy type and can only be found experimentally. In the case of Kuva Lich and Sisters of Parvos especially their attenuation is based somewhat on incoming damage such that the first burst of damage from high rate of fire weaponry is more effective to a point as the attenuation very rapidly kicks in. Most forms of damage attenuation only account for some modifiers to total damage, which is why work arounds can exist. Think of it like taxes. The more you earn, the higher the tax rate, but the higher tax will never make you take home less than on a lower salary. However many taxes have options to reduce the amount of money taken away. So too with damage attenuation, some options reduce the amount of damage taken away (or more accurately aren't counted in the first place, despite buffing the damage).
