That’s a good point. I was just thinking that politicians need to be about more than 1 issue to be effective. She is not representing the needs of Aboriginal people because she is Aboriginal. She can give voice to concerns, give input on Committees with a view to worthwhile change, but she is there to be a show pony while Aboriginal people in the towns and communities deal with issues on the ground.

We anglo aussies ask people of other heritages "where are you from" so we can learn from somebody else who has lived a different culture. We love learning about their history, food etc. When we take these comments personally then we fail to grow as people and as a nation which is essentially made up of different cultures. Yes we are all Australians but we have all come from somewhere else. I'm proud of my Aussie anglo culture because it is part of my heritage.
