Awesome flying, my friend! Pretty cool airplane, great job! 😃 But yeah, that first battery is absolutely toasted. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Congrats, Old Son! A fairly quick and neat way to add a single EDF unit to this great cheapie. Personally I've never caught the "Jet" bug - probably something to do with being half deaf after a lifetime working with heavy machinery. 😉 For speed and agility I'd prefer the twin version done by Bavarian RC. You can always add the scream via headphones or even an on-board speaker if that floats your boat there in the greenery of Valle de la Muerte! 😱😈🙄
It is a matter of experimentation! My first effort was definitely wrong : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xWBpUvsQzeg.html This is the improved version : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pRg61UC0xB8.html That is what I copied for this version, the EDF is parallel to the fuselage at the back of the wing. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Erm rather than doing the " I was insulted" by the no performance observation? Fit your edf setup onto a thrust stand and use a wattmeter. Should be achieving on 3s ~330 / 350 Watts and ~24 Ounces of thrust. IF not.... fix it.
On the first launch a cell failed in my previously great 1300 mAh 3S pack, hence the loss of power. The second flight went OK but I think a little tail heavy. As an average pilot I was not going to go full tilt on my second flight in this condition. I have now a new 1500 mAh pack which will shift the CG forward by about 5mm and I will try that. FYI I tested the setup before and get 260 Watts at 22 Amps. As my ESC is 18A continuous that is sufficient for me. A Lidl glider is never going to go 100 MPH, well, OK ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Oe8Oi5ZuaLs.htmlsi=T-r_pEtL8kC0v2w5
Hi, there were no changes made to the plane between the flights except for changing the battery pack. The first pack although showing full sagged almost immediately on take off. You can hear my telemetry warning hence the flight was slow and a quick landing. I may switch to a 1500 mAh pack from the 1300 and see how it goes. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Dunno .. Something is Seriously Wrong ! with this thing. Either Shite batteries or a damaged motor. Possibly even both ? I have 'several' Lander Dr thrust 8 blade 40mm fan units (yours) and these can and Do propel light-ish / aero clean models to 100 MPH (not kph) ... easily . That thing looks like it's doing 20 MPH
