Just a quick note on the advance stat, this can greatly enhance your damage with elements (Fire. electricity and acid) if said weapon has this ability though they are few and far between, I believe the stat affects items with these effects also, examples like grinds, thermite and Carcass Body Fluid Bottle. Doing a run with these weapons specifically or a assembled versions to max potential for my stats.
It also affects the use of elemental buffs iirc so even if you're not using elemental weapons, using it to take advantage of elemental weaknesses (blitz puppets, burn carcasses and acidify humans) isn't the worst idea due to how significant they are.
@@ES21007 someone on fextralife compared the damage and it actually DOES NOT effect buffs such as grindstones or blitzes, even if your weapon scales with advance.
Heya great video thank you taking the time to make, I'm curious but this the stats ever get explain within the game ? like what they up untill I saw your video I only had a rough approximation of what they do.
Nice and simple, was questioning what to level in my future NG++. Just questioning the NG+ thing about enemies two tapping, it is much easier than first play through for me. I almost kill everything without hardship. Only thing which killed me until mow was puppet of future because I was dumb and was just hacking on it and didn't care about it stomping 6 times. Now at Act 11 and going to Thunder Bitch, lets see how it works there. Blocking is so simple in the game once your're used to
Maybe this is a stupid thing not to know, but I keep seeing something has A scaling or B scaling, or however. What does that even mean? is it like a grade thing, where A is best and D is not so good? I have no clue and when I look it up they just say, well, it has A scaling. ok, thanks? and also what is B technique? Is that like the scaling? I guess I don't know how these grades work in this game at all. I have played the demo but any help would be great.
Oh my god this game doesn’t even need these types of videos. easiest souls game on the planet. You can literally lock on a circle around to the back of 90% of the enemies. And If you use shock on every boss, you win. Is it going to be a popular game because it makes everyone feel like they can beat it. Everyone’s build works! 😂😂😂
no, it's because souls games show a lot of stats that are usually hidden in games. Also, noticing when the leveling up is worthless is easy.. just look at stats
There's always gonna be new fans of the genre that need help in the beginning. A new player is a new player just like you was 15 years ago. Even those familiar with the genre can potentially learn something new from other people.
S-scaling in Advance seems to scale worse than Motivity and Technique, but you get more out of each point of Advance as you target weaknesses, so it's sorta misleading but mechanically in your favor.
4:25 I like how Light equip load isn't mentioned here, probably because people don't even know it exists. That's how absurd the requirements are lol (less than 30%)
I've been playing with light load for bosses and it's actually a godsend. Right now the best armor I have is 25% damage reduction. I could wear armor, or I could have insanely good dodges which help me avoid damage completely (in bosses, I would still wear armor going through areas)
Same here. I didn't really have that high expectations for Lies of P, cause of so many others dev's trying to make it Souls/BloodBorne/Sekiro like games and fail. But I think they really did a great job with Lies of P, although there are some stuff that could need polish and/or Patching..
Same. I was interested in it because it was a soulslike. I really didn't keep up with it and barely played the demo...a week before it came out I said let me look at the reviews. I heard and saw good things so I bought it and haven't been happier. It definitely scratches my souls itch
@@nicholasnajibi3082 I wouldn't say "much better". You make it sound as if lies of p is obsolete which I can tell you after playing well over 2000 hours of all fromsoft games combined, lies of p is a fantastic game and it's exciting to see competition with fromsoft for this game style finally. The developers at neowiz did a fantastic job. And tbf they even have voice actors from elden ring in lies of p so they are sort of linked to fromsoft in a way lmao
wish they did a new weapon upgrade tier for NG+ like they did in The Surge 2. would make subsequent playthrus way more fun and feel like you’re actually doing damage.
If you're using a melee build, you're better off doing quality. Most weapons can be squeezed out to give you an extra number with Motivity cranks, and very, very few, will with Technique cranks. Basically the closer you can get to C/C in both physical stats, the better. And for max damage go for 60/63 in Mot and Tech. Weapons, including Two Dragons' still scale better with Motivity cranks at this range.
I've made it a point not to use summons and it's been tough but man has it also been rewarding. This game is amazing. I'm putting it right next to Sekiro, Bloodborne, DS3 and Elden Ring.
Sekiro, Bloodborne, DS3, and Elden Ring are offended. Lies is good, but the basic mechanics that have to be unlocked, the lack of poise, linear level design regardless of shortcuts, lack of multiplayer, which was annoying in Sekiro too, all make it second tier. The difficulty variation is also quite odd. I'm guessing that the game will change quite a bit via patches, but it will take months.
@@kasplat5874the "basic mechanics" are like that in this game for a reason. And sekiro with multiplayer wouldn't work lol. Also it is his opinion to rate it highly, I personally rate it high as well. Love the game and the choices in it. I have some complaints but overall it's fantastic.
2 form boss fights if I already beat the first form I use a specter to get to the 2nd phase...used it for puppet king then beat romeo solo...and I used it for champion victor other than that soloed everything else...I'm on chapter 10 now
It would be very interesting to see how a quality build scales, like using a weapon with double C scaling for motivity and technique or the rare B and C, compared to having an A or S scaling in a single stat. Another thing to note is that different handles have significantly different damage multipliers, with two-handed slow movesets dealing much higher damage on a single hit compared to faster and/or one-handed movesets.
With 25 motivity and technique, I get 2 less damage with the puppet ripper when I use a technique crank to get A and D scaling instead of B and C. I think they are very viable.
I will say though quality is probably only worth it with B and C scaling either way, C in both motivity and technique probably gets less damage than either one pure with A or higher scaling. Just guessing though, I haven't confirmed any of this.
@@younghandshake I guess it depends on how much you value having access to a wide variety of handles, as almost everything can be made quality, and it gives you basically double the cranks, while going full motivity makes anything scaling well with technique if very little use and vice versa.
You explaining the damage in NG+ is one of the things that annoy me about this game. When I took a hit from even some of the "elite" mobs and lost a quarter health during my first playthrough I was wondering when it switched to NG+2 on me. Only time I recall taking damage like this was in my NG+5 playthrough of Bloodborne. Still some fine tuning that needs to be done for sure.
I must just be getting old because it seems like I'm one of the few people who actually think this game has terrible balancing issues. For starters this games difficulty doesn't gradually ramp. At chapter 4 it's just a hard plummet straight to DifficultyLand, and if you're not good at parrying you're gonna be there the entire rest of the game. Game gives you 3 short chapters to become the SSJ God of parries, and if you can't well then sucks to be you I guess. On top of that you have no poise or hyper armor, so you'll get smacked out of everything you think to do, even dodges a lot of the time. Bosses with 7-9 hit combo chains that heal them every time they land one, even if you block them means fights drag on for waaay longer than they should. There's so many more issues, but too much to list on just a youtube comment. That being said however, a lot of my issues with this game could easily be resolved by just adding some poise or hyper armor and maybe giving parrying/dodging an extra frame or two. For all the aggravatingly poor balance issues this old man feels this game has, just simply giving us poise/hyper armor would skyrocket this game from a 3 out of 10 to a 9 out of 10.
it is frustrating once a boss is in a stagger state and you can’t get off the heavy to put them down because they relentlessly attack and if you have a short handle weapon forget about it , but two things that made the game much easier for me was to forget about other stats until i got vitality to 20 and if you cant parry blocking is way better than rolling you take way less hp damage and you can gain hp back with the regain system also the electric stick you can buy early is op
You didnt even show the stat range increases with advance. Completely different to motivity. At 20 advance im getting +1 lol. Thats with an A scalimg adv weapon
Thank you! I completely agree it's insane that things like Amulets don't say how much they add, and it's difficult to test due to the random damage. Is there a current resource that has how much the Amulets actually add?
No but I can tell you through my testing the ones I did: Arm Of God is 3% per stack, up to 12% more damage at 4 stacks. Not great. Extreme Modification Amulet gives 5% damage boost per FILLED Fable bar. This doesn't work on the majority of Fable attacks because the bar empties prior to the attack landing, but is really good on Wrench builds.
@@SadDogofShimano it *can be* if you're using a weapon that can Crit, because of multiplicitive stacking, but 12% 99% of the time isn't going to change the amount of hits-to-kill. It's only useful for bosses
Not to mention most enemies die in less than 5 hits (which is the amount required to use the fourth stack) First hit: +0% Second: +3% Third: +6% Forth: +9% Fifth and higher: +12% Good for bosses but sadly only for bosses
I was getting annoyed at how slow i was with a Motivity build. Even at 22 Compacity. I thought screw it. I respect into Advance, realized I no longer need those heavy parts and now I'm a God. I just wish i didn't sell my Advance umbrella... Have to use Acid rain till NGP or something better comes along.
I really wish that they dropped the Souls-Like aspect of NG+ and instead had taken hollowknights boss rush mode. Just let me insta retry any boss in the game, and I'll love the game forever.
Okay did i just completly miss wherr he described the damage scalling for technique and advance? Or did he not do that? Or are they just the same scallings 1:1 as motivity?
I think that a video about how stats works in the game should show less footage of the game, and of course not all the weapons nor the bosses after the one of the demo. I wanted the information to think about my build, but the video has spoiled me some things. At least, you could add a disclaimer. Not angry whatsoever, just saying. And, of course, the information you give in the video is wonderful (as always).
I'm about the same level, but stayed at 40 for Vit, Capacity and Motivity, put vigor at about 20-25. Then leveled Technique to 40, if you then use handles that have both motivity and technique scaling, or put a balance crank on weapons you already modified, it'll really make a difference in damage you deal.
2 questions for you: How's NG+ at lvl 210? Still so hard or more doable? Also, how did you reach that level? Seems like you have found a good spot to farm!
@@Marco__M NG+ is like 10 times harder no joke and I don't wonna talk about NG++. There is a spot in Lorenzini Arcade with 2 elite, which are easy to farm with the right stagger setup and also witht he ergo amulett and the 2 ergo p-organ upgrades you get a lot of exp, even more on NG+/++
@@cavsfightingroom3692 It actually gets a little easier and harder at the same time. The enemies attacks do ridiculous damage but the p-organ gets more op skills like the ability to block fury attacks without being perfect. Or pulse cells giving you legion back. I spam legion all the time and boss fights in new game plus plus.
Well the devs said there's a patch coming as well as DLC's so maybe they'll fix some of the BS in this game like the damage caps and nerf some bosses and the damage of enemies in NG+
I really hope that they end up dropping some sort of patch later on that will scale the damage output higher in ng+ otherwise it makes the game feel like there is not sense of growth for the character.
Agreed. I would like it if it either improved the over all stat increases we get for leveling up at higher levels or maybe give us additional weapon upgrades for new game +. We get additional p organ slots so I don't and +1/ +2 level gear so I really don't see a problem with us getting a buff in damage.
true, some of the mini boss fights are even worse imo, but its basically the same things i hate from Fromsoft games bosses too so its not unique to this game
@@aaronapitius4775I don't think fromsoft would ever make dogshit unbalanced mess like this. If a boss is BS, in any FS games, there r just soooooo many ways to deal with it. This game has none. All u can do is fight the boss 500 times and learn all those brain-dead over the top delayed attack timings and feel like u accomplished some shit. When I beat a difficult BS boss in FS games, its because I had a gameplan and executed it. Not because I memorised delayed atk timings like a 3 y/o memorising alphabets. After playing this dogsht game, it really made me realise how fine tuned FS bosses are.
@@Venky-yo6iu It's funny cuz all you said apply to Sekiro. And i say this as a fan of it. But don't say "'FS games" when it only apply to Soulsborne. Plus, many of the ways to defeat bullshit bosses you are talking are cheesy and just don't mean that it was a good boss in the first place. The gameplay itself just allow more. But everything here was known before the launch, even if you listened to nobody and just played the demo. It's a bloodborne/sekiro like, not a darksouls like.
@@BountyGeant So any strat a player uses except getting bashed 20 times in a row till they get lucky is a cheese move to u it seems...... Throwing sleep pots on one of the godskin duo and dealing with them in a 1v1 is a cheese move or strategy?..... As gd as souls games r, half of the community is just filled with neckbeard idiots that think the only way to play the game is their way. Everything else is a cheese. Decreasing the difficulty by 1% is a cheese strat..... Atleast there r multiple ways of "Cheesing" as u call it in souls game. In this dogshit game, the cheese is to throw Jars at the boss while he is busy with the summon. Big brain strat right there. Also, its hilarious how u compare it with sekiro .... LMAO...Reposte destroys the HP of any enemy sekiro. So its incredibly rewarding when u perfect parry like a gd. This dogshit game let's u deal like wht? ....5% of the boss HP after 10million perfect parries?.... pls don't compare this worthless trash with games like sekiro
@@Venky-yo6iuWhat gameplan did you have in Sekiro where you have to learn parry timings by trying constantly? Or Bloodborne where you can’t always even predict if a boss is parryable or not. In Elden Ring the main idea to fight bosses was to just kill them with five second burst cheese builds or else they would kill you in two hits even with a 40 vigor stat. LoP is really not that different in design and more fair than things like Nioh bosses.
Very good video, very informative. Lies of P got a lot of good things from cooking with the Souls formula. A lack of clarity on number information both for stats and for amulets/other buffs should NOT have been one of them. Still loving the game though.
Man thanks for getting right into those exact numbers for each stat. Now i know exactly what im looking at for each time i level up. Also you explain things simply enough, definitely subbed. 👏
Here's my question, is it better to run B technique and B Advanve so you can split the levels between the two or just go straight S rank in 1 category and put all levels into it?
Stats are so underwhelming and like you said NG+ is fucking terrible. The devs seem to have forgotten that the power fantasy end game is one of the best parts of any good Souls game. Im enjoying this game a lot, but damn is it incredibly overrated. So many click bait chumps calling it a 9/10. It's a 7 tops. I am seriously looking forward to a proper sequel though. I genuinely hope they go straight for that rather than releasing DLC because the issues go so much deeper than just numbers. I think if they take what they have here and expand on it they'll have something really great, but right now it's pretty mediocre. Still really fun on a fresh playthrough though, even if the pacing is super inconsistent.
Feel that at this point most of the ng+1 is nerfed on damage taken but ng+2 hits hard only after the hotel is raided. I'm in ng+3 and came to check leveling guide to see if it is useful in current game build. Laxiasia was really the hardest for me and I want to be ready for her by the end of this run. Thanks for the tips.
I beat the game with 22 vitality... x.x Not saying it was pretty but I did it lol. Maybe I should have watched more videos before I did my first run haha
This game is so freakin hard. I've beaten bloodborne, ds3 and elden ring. The difficulty of this one is on another level. It feels like the devs of this game have intentionally made it insanely difficult just so they can prove a point to Fromsoftware. Lol
About the new game plus being so ridiculous, I would rather that then the barely changing new game systems of most dark souls games. Like change it up plleeeease
So Motivity is just slower move sets with no defensive compensation the way STR gives physical resist in FromSoft games… meaning it’s a strictly worse damage stat…
All the heavier weapons literally have more guard defense lol. Also changing your handle and cranking it for motivity means you can change the moveset to a faster one if it bothers you that much. Greatsword of fate blade with the rapier handle is pretty much a solid go to for the entire game.
It’s true man I agree with you completely. I finally jumped back into the game after a couple months break in the final chapter beat the game and I’m now more than half way through in NG+ and it’s really not fun at all it’s a complete nightmare and the damage enemies do is an absolute joke on top of them being able to attack you while in staggerable state as you are also attacking them. Hate love relationship with this game.
Couple offensive stat findings. For scaling, assuming A scaling = 100% of your listed values, its D = 40%, C =60%, B =80%, and S =120%. Advance ONLY effects elemental damage, so advance scaling without elemental blade doesnt do anything. Given that you hit diminishing returns at 18 & 23, it ends up being better damage on all weapons to shoot for C/C or B/C (for boss weapons) and raise the lower stat once you hit 18. Basically Lies of P only has one build, and its quality.
Me I like to over-level in any game with RPG elements. Especially souls game. As what else can you do with your blood vials, Aka Ergo points but level up. Plus any gain you get to your health, stamina, and Attack/defense. Only help you in further boss fights. So they won’t be a pain. Along with enemies. Speaking of which, now I gotta reset my P-organ. Since may ass missed rise up.😂😂😂
Bro im halfway through ng + and its not hard at all, im killing bosses on first try…and yes there are broken builds, try saw blade and dancer sword handle combo. Iv optimised my p organ to do ridiculous fatal art damage. Also level Vitality, its the omly stat that gives you 8 points even after 35. My vitality is at 60 currently in ng+.
Yeah, there are some OP builds in this game, personally I'm going to work on a motivity build for my fav weapon so far in the game, the hydraulic drill, or as I nicknamed it it the Vibinator (vibrator+terminator)! That thing is so broken and has a very unique heavy attack, and it's also one of the few weapons with built-in crit chance that comes with a crit buff fable art, the first time I drilled a mini-boss to death I knew I found my new fav weapon 😅
@@gregorymasters5805 Not sure about how it works against final boss because I haven't fought them yet, but I'm very close to the end the game, I tried it on regular enemies and mini-bosses and it works really well even with a +3 upgrade only.
Im having more fun with lies of p than I had with any dark souls, especially the linear level design doesnt have me look for guides on WHERE TO GO, because finding your path in soulsgames is completely fuxked with little to no information, and circling around an area you completed with no clue on how to progress is the worst, and its not like its logical in soulsgames on where to go next, Sekiro had the same problem but not as bad as for example ds1
The real crime of being over 59% equip load isnt the stamina cost, its the walking and movement speed hit. Makes walking anywere suck just a littlebit more, totally unbearable, get capacity to 25 minimum asap lol
doubtful you'd see this and reply (you seem like a busy man) but what kind of technique build should I use for NG+? I'm stuck on stupid Simon manus and he's an annoying mf
you level up so quickly in ng+ that you end up not even knowing where to put your points, I'm at NG+2 and when I realized that after lvl 40 the weapon's scaling stops adding so much damage, so I decided to simply change my build to quality and I left all my attack stats at 44, basically now I can use all the weapons and arms in the game and still do a lot of damage with them
i am on like new game plus 5 now.´And just got 100 in all stats and yes the damage based stats has a strong drop offs. You will almost always be in the "light" load then becuse of the extra new upgrades for you with quartz on the second and third new game plus but yeah i bearly noticed a diffrance in the dmg output. Like i think it was stamina or something that going from 98-100 did nothing. or atleast 98 to 99 nothing changed legit nothing. (this was my last 100 stat) I wish they had stances like the ds3 and elden ring where if you use 2 handed you get 33% boost becuse i did not check the stats and was on 60 motivity (going motivity only build) when i frist played. And yeah my levels where legit useless even with a S scaleing weapon
Managed to beat game love you videos. To bad they didn't make it like elden ring have multiple characters so don't have to ng+ without losing your original guy.
I genuinely dont understand what you mean by not doing enough damage in ng+. On on ng+4 and i wish some of these boss fights eould last longer because theyre dying too quickly
Hopefully they will boost some stuff in a patch. I enjoy it, but for a game that has such a high priority on guarding, they need to do something to make it more crispy. It feels kinda bad imo.
Perfect block window is objectively garbage for how fast the enemy swings are. It's asinine people are defending that and the half broken dodging that doesn't even have all the way through. If you dodge and barely touch a red enemy charging at you when doing so, you take the FULL attack damage. It needs fixing.
@@dimismirn I have. Understanding game mechanics is what I do. From speedruns in resi 2 and silent hill 2(both original) to PAIN runs in god of war 1-3, ndr in all souls and NUR and ndr in sekiro with no tools, etc.
I went light roll the whole game and found it to be my preferred way to play, right up until (unnamed final boss) schooled me for an hour before I armored up to mid roll and beat him my next try. If you can't p block fury attacks and you don't have the ring to dodge them, spacing with light roll is a good option. Keep in mind that aggressive bosses counter this.
Finished this game without even knowing what guard regain was , so I didn’t guard much only used dodges . Man was that stressful . I uninstalled the game so fast after I beat it 😂😂
The soft caps are so low that at level 30 dex it’s better to level strength even though you have a weapon with A scaling in dex. That was my understanding at least.
@@youwy Awesome. I wonder if it’ll stop scaling on ng+7 like souls games. To your point I really wish they broke down some more information in this game. So many games have items for a buff without mentioning the percentage and then we have to sit there with a calculator and test it ourselves 😵💫 lol
I have an amount of ergo that allows me to raise any attribute up to level 90 or so, but it seems like I can't raise any attribute all at once. No difference, could you explain this better?
So for me I am up to the Simon boss on 2nd play through and every stat is level 40 apart from capacity which is 45 and I did very little farming, so just shows how much you can level during the 2nd playthrough because when you’re paying 16k to level up, it only costs 1 extra ergo for the next level for quite a lot of levels, so it’s great to be able to just use any weapon you like with best scaling you can have 💪
I think why you die quickly is cause you got no damage reduction and i feel like you are like REQUIRED to upgrade your weight just to get by its sucks but it seems like that's how you got to play Also i feel the specter dies easy, i think the dude needs a buff and a big one or a p organ that vastly increase his stats or at least the power to summon two specters
@@kami3449 Not in NG+. They don't scale properly. And most wishstones aren't very well balanced, like the resurrection one (indomitable) restoring like two hits worth of health on NG while needing to be timed (so it's worse than friendship 100% of the time), or the damage reduction one just not lasting very long.
