This is so much me. I was hit by a car in 77 at the age of 12 and suffered a TBI, I have severe short term memory problems, as well as epilepsy. I was an A student in school before my accident, after I struggled just to get thru each day without failing. I constantly have to keep notes of everything including appointments and phone numbers. Maybe someone can help me.

One of the biggest problems I have is remembering names, especially cuz in my culture it’s not so natural addressing someone per “you” rather by their name. A lot of times I just catch myself waiting for someone else to talk to this person and mention their name so I can finally know who am I talking to.

@@DMartinov I carry a small notepad, or just a piece of paper with me, and of course a pen. Write names down if its important to remember their name. Or add it to my contacts on my phone.

@@bruceradz watch, phone, and Alexa all have access to the same digital calendar. I can also ask Alexa to remind me of things like checking on the laundry in 30 minutes or to add something to the calendar. Help me with a quick math problem. Then paper if I just need to jot something down quickly like when I'm calling to make doctor appointments. Usually just use the digital one for on the go for follow up appts or reoccurring things I need to do though. Paper planner is more big events, appts, or daily to do lists. Its taken a while to know where to put everything so I'll see it. If I don't see it, it doesn't exist. 😂 I also use the timer on my watch if I'm walking away out of range of hearing a kitchen timer or I'm not at my house and I need a timer for something and alarms on it when I need to go somewhere and might leave my phone sitting somewhere around the house. Sounds complicated but it works for me. 😅

@@sarahbaker8107 hey whatever works for you 😃 you sound very organized. Im impressed 👍 did someone help you with all that? Or did you learn on the go? Can I ask what had happened to effect your memory? Now in my recovery, they offered suggestions, but they did not have any of those items available to learn on, to learn with. Upon my leaving, I told them so lol they sort of admitted they were falling short. I bet they have everything now. I use my cellphone assistant every day, I can put things on the calendar on it too. I don't have Alexa.

I got jumped a couple of years ago, my head being punched multiple times by 3 people. Since some time (presumably then) I am experiencing a severe memory loss, or the inability to register some stuff. I can be engaged in talking with somebody and just a couple of minutes later not be able to list even one thing we talked about, I can just recall the general vibe of the conversation, and some small pieces of dialog “highlights” every now and then. I don’t know if that’s because of me being unable of giving 100% of my attention to anything because I’m stuck there being anxious inside my head, pretty much entire time, or if the Aspergers that I suspect in myself (for some pretty solid reasons) contributes to that, but it really feels like it’s not getting any better with time, and I’m already getting kinda more and more sick of it. What especially shocks me is that during the day I can have random thoughts or flashbacks, if you will, about some bizarre or irrelevant situations that happened waaaay back in my childhood/teens (before that incident ofc) and they’re often so clear that I can remember exactly the context and what I was taking about with somebody or what they said to me. Now I’m just looking for the explanation for all of this mess that my mind has become over the years. Idk if I do this to feel better or to satisfy my curiosity for knowledge, but I’m probably not gonna fully remember most of those videos I watch anyway lol. And yeah, please feel free to point out any grammar mistakes I might’ve made, English is my second language and I guess I’m forgetting how to use it as well if I don’t do it often enough lol. I tried k

I’m not sure if it’s me but it might be not lining up the video and audio track 100%. Thanks for this video. I’m like the people shown losing my business too. I’m going to try recording things in the phone too instead of typing them in notes because then I miss information when I can’t type fast enough. Good idea! Thanks
