Literally have been BEGGING doctors to remove it and they keep telling me there are no side effects but I've gotten acne, terrible anxiety/depression and the woooorst struggle with weight (and i eat mostly a plant based diet!). I hate this thing so much!

I agree when you said you immediately felt better upon removal. I walked out and instantly felt all my stress leave my body. Lol

I've literally gained 50lbs on this birth control. I'm bloated and get cramps constantly. The anxiety is horrendous. I've had it in for I believe 3 years now. No matter what I do (workout at gym, physical labor, diet, ect) i can not loss any weight what so ever. I've been contemplating about getting it removed. This video has solidified my assumptions on where all these symptoms were coming from. I will be making an appointment today with my gyno to have this thing removed. As soon as I got mine out I felt mentally better immediately too! I felt sense of relief and my mental fog was gone!

I’m so glad I searched for this video, reading all your comments and seeing I’m not the only one trying to blame the weight gain on the hormonal IUD. I’ve always been on the slimmer side but since getting the hormonal coil late 2019 I’ve gained 42 pounds. I’ve tried eating less, exercising and barely nothing coming off my weight. I feel like I haven’t put weight on in a nice way either, I think I look puffy and swollen, my arms and stomach have gone really fatty when they wasn’t like that before. I lose a lot more hair when I shower, my skin is very dry and just looks shit. Around 5/6 months after the hormonal coil I started gaining weight and then I got diagnosed with depression and anxiety and got prescribed anti depressants and signed off work. I can’t believe the amount of woman that have suffered with the same thing. I was debating getting mine removed after research online saying it very rarely causes weight gain but after seeing all your comments I’m going to book to get mine removed. I will update you with how I get on prior to getting it removed. Hopefully it helps🙏🏼

I gained 45 pounds and have acne. Lots of cramping , mood swings, cant wait to get it removed I am going back on the pill.😊 I regret getting mirena.

I just had mine taken out today. I definitely agree about immediately feeling better. I started uncontrollably smiling after walking out of the doctors office. I had the Mirena in for four years. I gained close to 65 pounds and could not drop the weight. I recently began exercising for over an hour everyday (no breaks) and decreased my calorie in take. And somehow, after doing that for two weeks , I GAINED 4 pounds. There’s no way that that should’ve been the case, and after doing research, I finally switched doctors and had it taken out. I’m hoping that I can drop this weight a lot faster now. Other symptoms I experienced (severe): anxiety, depression, cramping, bloating, large cyst on ovary Moderate: spotting, unable to focus. So far: I’ve had the mirena out for 1 day and can say I am feeling the best I’ve felt in 4 years. I can think clearly and feel generally happy. I am hoping to start seeing the pounds fall off

Having mine removed next week. I can't wait. Had mine for 4 years and 3 months. The Dr said it can cause weight gain in many women and because I've gained so much weight she will happily remove mine 😊

Mirena is also made of silicone (I was planning on removal either way) and I plan to ask for labs for antibodies. Silicone illness mirrors symptoms I’ve had. Brain fog, confusion, Dizzy, Cystic acne, weight gain, chronic fatigue, moods are crazy, depression, anxiety, hair loss, visual disturbances, light sensitive, headaches, jaw pain, joint pain... I mention because supporting our body by detoxing and supporting Liver can also be helpful. Synthetic hormones mess with us but the devices are made of toxic materials should be considered.

I removed my Mirena myself a few hours ago. I had it for 5 years. It was hell. Migraines, constant bloating, depression, moodiness, I had a panic attack at work so bad I was placed on stress leave at my job and had to see a therapist for 2 months, weight gain even though I’m the member of a boot camp style gym and workout 5 times a week, cramping all of the time, weird sound in my ear like my heartbeat, palpitations, joint aches and inflammation, tender breasts, vision issues randomly, tired for no reason and heavier period with huge clots, a feeling like Braxton Hicks contractions which started in the last few months. My doctor couldn’t get me in to see her until November. No mam. I sterilized some tweezers by boiling in water and with 90% isopropyl alcohol, washed my hands for 4 minutes and also splashed some alcohol on them and got that demon out of my body! As soon as I pulled it out I felt a strange sense of relief and normalcy. Like my body said “IT’S ABOUT TIME LADY!”😂

I just had mine taken out today. I went the complete 5 years and experienced weight gain(40+ pounds),vaginal infections, brain fog, depression (especially around my period). Maybe im overthinking but I feel like I can tell the difference even after a few hours. Hopefully , I will lose the weight soon🤗. Thank you for posting.

Getting mine removed tomorrow after 5 years of having it...I thought I was crazy. 45 lbs heavier and I've literally done nothing different. They all said it wasn't the mirena 🤔

My experience was opposite. I had the IUD for 3 years and the beginning was rough as the insertion caused inflammation to my cervix, I experienced some pretty intense pain periodically during the first 7-8 months. After that adjustment period it was wonderful. I had light to no periods, my metabolism seemed higher (I ate a bunch and my weight never fluctuated) and I had tons of energy. I didn't struggle with any acne or skin issues or even cramps. I had it removed and since then it has royally sucked, hormones and mood swings. Huge flowing periods, weight gain, and fatigue. I'm now pregnant (experienced these things well before pregnancy) and cannot wait to get my IUD back in after having this baby. I miss it, so!

All these comments helped me so much and made me realize I’m not crazy and not alone for thinking my IUD was making me crazy! The only good thing I’ve experienced on it was lighter periods and cramps and obviously not getting pregnant. Throughout the 6 months I’ve had it I’ve had horrible crippling anxiety and panic attacks, heart palpitations, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, extreme bloating, trouble sleeping, loss of sex drive and gained at least 15 pounds. Ive never gained so much weight in a short time period ever! I’ve thought there must be something wrong with me due to all the side effects and have considered getting anxiety meds and starting therapy but then I did my research and realized that the symptoms are all from the IUD. My anxiety gets so bad I shake and my mind never ever shuts off from thinking about bad things that could happen and also it’s made me into a hypercondriac. I made an appointment today to get it removed and it’ll be worth it and worth using condoms and being safer with sex. I’m so tired of having it in me cuz it’s not like u can just take it out yourself (u could but u shouldn’t lol) or stop taking the pill like birth control pills. I will share my story. Had Mirena for about 12 years. First one swapped after 5 years, second one was still working at 7 yr mark but had it removed with no new one just to get my body ready for menopause...back story, I weighed 110 lbs...12 yrs later...161 lbs. While having it in no problems, no periods from the start, figured weight gain was normal aging (I'm 50 now). Since removal just over one year ago periods come and go, pre-menopause so normal, but my weight is 121 lbs with no extra work or diet change, it just dropped off! Thought I had some terminal disease, but dr could not find anything wrong with me so went searching for similar weight stories with Mirena removal...YAY it's normal! But really I just feel great without all the extra weight, hate not knowing when/if I will have a period but such is life of an aging woman....

I removed mine today after 2 and a half years. I haven’t felt like myself while on it. I cried happy tears. Did it at home. I’ve been wanting this out ever since I got it. I’m so glad to come across this video and see other people who relate in the comments.

I just had my mirena removed today and I had that same weird feeling. It was like my body took one huge sigh of relief. It's only been a few hours, but I already feel so much better. I had the IUD for 5 years and noticed such a significant change in my overall personality. My hormones were so out of whack. I gained so much weight and I haven't been able to lose it. The only thing I liked about the iud is that I had relatively no periods. I cant even remember the last time I had one. It's not for everyone honestly. I'm just happy that my body can now do what it's supposed to do on it's own without all the extra hormones.

I just happened upon your video. Had never heard stories like this. Wonderful info. I have been very fortunate I love having my IUD no period except after removal and reinsertion. Going for my 3rd IUD in the next 6 months. The pill caused me to have the side effects that you are discussing and extreme depression. Your video proves we know our bodies not doctors. Great info.

It feels good to know that I’m not the only one experiencing so many terrible side effects. I’ve had the Liletta IUD for a little over a year now and I’ve gained at least 35-40lbs while exercising and maintaining a healthy diet☹️ The hormonal acne is awful, I’m border line depressed during my cycle, and my cramps are excruciating! I’m glad say that it will be removed one week from today😁

I got mine removed a little over a month ago, I had the skyla IUD. I felt same symptoms as you, I felt it in me everyday on top of cramps! I am suffering with hormonal acne and hoping my hormones balance out as quick as possible. It sucks having skin problems :(

I’m literally crying because I got the IUD after having my daughter in 2016. I developed hyperthyroidism months after getting it. Took the medication for the thyroid now i have Depression, my skin changed and weight gain. My appointment to get this removed it’s Friday it’s been 5 years now so I’m done. I’m literally so tired. As a Hypothyroid patient, who's hormones are all out of wack to begin with I just got mine removed yesterday... So relieved!!! That feeling you described early in video 😊 I've had two mirena over the past ten years, I can't even remember what it felt like to be free of that thing... Honestly, it works but you'll risk your liveliness... Literally felt like I was dying everyday!!!

I’ve had the mirena for 5 years got pregnant now I’m on the Kyleena and I’ve never gained so much weight and I’m vegan!!! It’s horrible mines is coming out next month can’t wait to see what’s going on. Your husband is awesome to make that decision with you

I had a Mirena about five years ago. Within the first few months of having it put in, I experienced frequent (monthly) yeast infections and almost daily heart palpitations. I saw three different doctors and even wore heart monitoring equipment for a 24-hour test and was told there was nothing wrong with me and what I was experiencing had nothing to do with the IUD. After about nine months I had the Mirena removed and - guess what?! - within 6 weeks all my heart palpitation and yeast infection symptoms went away! I have not experienced any heart palpitations and I've only had two yeast infections in the years since. I'm not sure how the heart palpitations and yeast infections were related to the Mirena, but for my body, clearly they were.

I just had my iud removed yesterday. I had had 1 for 11 years. Periods have been gone for quite some time which was awesome, but definitely have had bloating and the feeling like something is just sitting like a rock in my gut, almost constantly. Immediately after removal my belly feels deflated and lighter! I'm a bit nervous about my body readjusting, but my husband had a vasectomy and I want my body to run it's natural course. Hoping I don't experience the Mirena crash!

Since I've had my IUD taken out about 2 or 3 weeks ago, my acne is clearing up thank goodness.

I had mine for 6 months. It was hell. I was sick CONSTANTLY with upper respiratory infections and leg edema. When I couldn’t take it anymore, I called the office crying from lower back pain, a feeling of gloom and doom, and exhaustion. They removed the IUD and did a follow-up ultrasound a week later. I had a cyst the size of a ping pong ball on my left ovary. Four weeks later, I had a follow-up ultrasound and the cyst was gone. I felt the same feeling of just being lighter and leaner without weight loss. I’m still struggling with the weight loss because I put on 20lb with the IUD. The fact that I feel so much better definitely helps with the outlook. My periods are regular. Unfortunately they last longer than 2 days and my PMS usually consists of bloating and ridiculous crying jags, but I lose the bloat. I’m just going to deal with the flood gate that opens like the Hoover dam on the first two days because I refuse to mess with my body again after my Mirena hell. Good luck on your journey! I had mine removed 3 days ago and I’ve been having the heaviest period ever. But I did notice that my mood has completely changed. I’m so glad I got it removed. I haven’t been able to lose any weight no matter how hard I try. Hopefully this helps.

I got mine out 2 days ago and already am LESS BLOATED and feeling back to my self. Mine was causing severe anxiety, weight gain and brain fog. I even feel LIGHTER now in just 2 days. Yay and great video.

I’ve gained so much weigh in the 2 years that I’ve had it. I’ve also been unable to lose weight even though I exercise consistently and eat well. I just booked an appointment to have mine removed and I hope it helps. All my doctors and websites keep saying there’s no weight gain with it but that seems to be a lie.

I got mine removed today after only 6 months, and my body sighed and I felt my uterus adjusting back to calm. I had my second Skyla removed yesterday after six years and I immediately felt a sense of “relief” and very “Free”, I feel like myself again 🤩

I had my mirena for 5 years and i didn’t have any issues. My weight didn’t go up or drop honestly. But I don’t have any cramping honestly everything is the same as it was before I got it

I still have my IUD and I just started researching today. But I’ve been thinking about taking it out. I’ve had bloating, increased appetite, 50 lb weight gain, increased acne including body acne, mood swings and insane social anxiety. I’ve gone through periods of constant healthy eating and exercise and lost only 5-10 lb max.

I gained 64 lbs I just got mine out today it blew my mind how simple the procedure was but getting a doctor to do it was a pain. I hope I can lose most of this weight.

I had one removed in 2012 and lost 30 pounds immediately. Got a new one in 2016 and gained it all back, had it removed again today. Fingers crossed I lose the weight again. Either way I already feel better!

I've been on Mirena for almost 12 years. My body seriously doesn't feel like mine. But I definitely don't want anymore children. So I've just continued suffering...but I'm finally done with that. I gained close to 40 pounds on Mirena, it caused my body acne go insane, I had crazy brain fog, worsened my depression and actually caused me sharp pains like it was stabbing me, I just got it taken out today, I will never be getting an IUD again, it’s just not my thing. I just got my Mirena out yesterday after 2.5 years. I ALSO felt an immediate sense of relief walking out of my OBGYN’s office. All day today I have been happier, less anxious and just physically feel more connected to my body. I haven’t had a single period since the insertion and I am very excited to have it back soon🤞

I just got mine removed today. I had gained weight, become depressed, suicidal thoughts for the first time in my life. I got a kidney stone (wut?!?). My mind and feelings already feel better... Thank goodness!

I just got mine removed yesterday. I work in women’s health and kept denying that it was causing crazy symptoms then I did some research. My hair has been falling out in clumps, my libido tanked and I gained about 50lbs. Hopefully I’ll be back to normal soon.

I had my Mirena for 5 years.. finally took it out, during the time I really didn’t have problems well I think I didn’t.. but I see the difference now and honestly I was so moody and depressed all the time.. and some cramps here and there I did gained weight I was 95 to 127 and I’m only 4’11 and now that is out I weight 122 now .. upon removal my obgyn told me it was stuck and had to get a hysterectomy camera to take it out.. it was easy process and feel better than ever!!

Omg im so happy I found this video and these comments! I got the minera in last March because my doctor said I wouldn't have weight issues like with the pill - WRONG! Ever since then I've had trouble with weight! I tried the nutritionist route because both my doctor and endocrinologist kept telling me it wasn't the IUD. I finally said look, I can't even loose 5 pounds boxing 5 days a week via beach body and eating healthy. My boyfriend and I go hiking, afterwards I'm so bloated I feel 6 months pregnant. I recently had to go on aderall to help with concentration, first thing my doctor tells me is a big side effect is weight loss, nope that didn't even happen. The last straw was when I took my measurements a month into my workout and I GAINED inches in my waist. I told him there is no other explanation and I got it removed today!! Fingers crossed the IUD was the problem.

I’m getting mine removed next week and I’m so excited to have my body back!! I can always feel it. I always have a twinge of discomfort in my pelvic area, a fullness, and I’m starting to wonder if it’s causing my other issues too like anxiety/depression, weight gain, bloat, etc.

I've had it removed January this year (2022) as I gained 50 lb on the IUD. It was a difficult decision cause other than the weight gain, it was actually improving other aspects of my life - my periods were light and short, I don't get horrible cramps anymore. But the weight gain was really hurting my self confidence, and I tried everything from nutrition to dieting to try to lose it. So I had it removed hoping it'll change things. For context, I've also been on the Mirena IUD for only a year, as I had the copper IUD prior. That one did not make me gain weight, BUT I had insanely horrible cramps while I was on it to the point where I wanted to cut my uterus out with a knife to stop the cramping. I was persuaded to swap to the hormonal IUD as it had all these benefits, but nobody really mentioned anything about the weight gain. In fact, the doctors dismissed it as "there could be some weight gain but it's not really ever proven". It's now been 9 months and I don't think my body's adjusted well to the removal. For the first 5-6 month, I had no periods at ALL. None. There were two very brief (less than a day) episodes of extremely light spotting, but 0 periods. Then comes July, and suddenly I'm having HEAVY, HEAVY periods for 3 weeks per month. The first week, the periods were fresh blood, more liquid, and I'd need at least a SUPER pad to not have it leak and ruin my clothing. The two weeks following are usually hell. Extremely heavy flow with lots of uterus lining chunks - I go through about 1.5-2 bags of the ALWAYS night long pads (pack of 36) per month, changing whenever it fills the pad. So far my periods are still the 3 week long ones (with 1 week break in between). Sorry about the mental image. What about the weight gain? So far I haven't noticed improvements. My neck, arms and legs have seen some toning improvement, but my midsection somehow got worse. If I had to describe it, I would say I look like I have a middle age men's mid section with the fat centered around the middle. I'm exercising 3-5 times a week now with HIIT, strength training mostly. I have been trying to eat cleaner, although I will admit I'm not the best at regulating my food intake, but I never was the type to pig out a ton to begin with. Hoping my periods would go back to normal and take the mid section weight with it because this is unbearable. I've never looked this way and I feel uncomfortable to even take pictures or look at myself in the mirror.

I got mine out 3 days and had to have it surgically to removed since the doc couldn't find the strings. The day after I felt lighter and my brain was sharper. I feel less stressed as well. I put on 30lbs in 4 years (the most ever in my life) I work out and I'm an avid cyclist. I'll keep you updated.

Just got my mirena out today after 12 years of this being my birth control method! My most recent one is the one that caused me crazy weight gain. After just one year of it I gained over 40lbs and was having very strange cramps. I’ve always had an issue with losing weight easily, and now suddenly I can’t seem to lose weight and gain from breathing. 2 hours without it and I am SO happy!!! Can’t wait to see how else my body changes.

I got my mirena implant exactly one year & 3mo ago I've gained 50lbs during that time. I work out I've done diets I've tried everything & its impossible to lose weight finally getting it remove in 4 days. Cant wait!

If anyone is having issues with hormones after removal you should try evening primrose rose. It definitely helped me after removal. I read somewhere it increases estrogen levels or something. Hope it helps someone.

Had mine for 10yrs, I didn’t have any problems outside of bad depression! But I will say I couldn’t lose weight worth poop! I didn’t gain any either and have always been fit, but my muscle wouldn’t grow nothing seem to move. I can’t wait to hit the gym again. It’s only been 2 days since I’ve had it out, but I feel amazing. Low key, can’t wait to see my first period again after 10 yrs!😳

Happy to see a group of women questioning the glory of this pregnancy prevention tool as well! Of course the doctors always make us feel like it is a great option with little to no side effects because their job is to prevent pregnancy, if that is your primary wish. I removed my mirena yesterday after 2.5 years. At first I thought it was wonderful but shortly after the insertion I battled infection after infection, which was a new issue for me. I was on about 20 antibiotics in 2 years..countless UTI's and neverending pH balance issues, BV, staph. I even had a vagina/perineum surgery because we thought that it was an external issue!!! You name it, I had it. I started to lose confidence in myself because I thought something was wrong with me. My partner Even questioned how I could have so many vaginal issues despite constant treatment. Bloating I definitely always had, low back pain , tender breasts. But zero period for the full duration.( The only nice thing) I Had a very hard time losing weight, ate almost nothing and tried diet pills to boot! I'm happy to say it's out today hoping my body will heal itself in the next coming months. Question for post mirena users, what are the side effects you experienced immediately after removal. Preparing myself for the discomfort, hopefully once and for all!!! Any input is appreciated!

I'm so glad I found this video. I had my mirena removed today. I definitely felt the good feels afterwards. It didn't hurt to have it taken out. I always had a bloated, firm lower tummy with my mirena. Literally laying here tonight my stomach is GONE. I already feel good, lighter. I'm so happy to go natural and let my body do its thing! Yay.

I got it removed a week ago, and I was surprised to feel “light” a day after.. I had it in for 4 years and I was constantly cramping, had no period for months (which can’t be healthy) I had a lot of fatigue, amongst other things.. Ladies, I had no idea how it was affecting my body until a couple of days after getting it removed! Totally worth it ❤️

I personally liked my IUD and for a long time have thought that I haven’t experienced any negative symptoms but I’m going on year five and realizing I suffer from a lot of the same symptoms you spoke of. I stopped getting periods six months after my IUD insertion and that has been my personal favorite side effects lol but with the IUD I realized that I’ve been more prone to vaginal infections, bloating, discomfort and weight gain/maintain (even tho I eat fairly healthy/pescatarian) . I started getting really paranoid/depressed that I would have anxiety attacks when I would smoke(marijuana) when I smoked heavily before and never experienced that. I’m glad I came across your video I’m in the thought process of getting it removed but I’m still hesitant. Originally I was going to get it removed this year but I was advised that they just green lit the Mirena (in the US) to last seven years instead of what I was told when I got the procedure in 2016 which was five years. Not sure yet what I’ll do but loved your video !

I'm so ready to get mine out in March. I haven't had a period in about 5 years (ive had 2 cycles of my IUD) but not having a period isn't worth (for me) all the depression, weight fluctuation, lethargy, anemia, brain fog, and mood swings officially have me over it.

I just found this and Thank you for this! I felt like I was going crazy. I had cervical surgery and was having horrible migraines. The surgeon suggested I get Mirena (before this they had me on menopause medicine). The insertion was so painful, I cried and almost passed out and when i got home took more advil, and passed out. Woke up and called the doctor asking what I could do since I was in so much pain I could barely move, she said advil.... it took 3 days for me to be able to function. Then the bleeding, then no periods, random fluids, ear/chin/neck acne, severe abdominal bloating and 40lb weight gain.... I now have no migraines and no periods, constant abdominal bloating(fanny pack level discomfort), and still getting the acne just not as bad. Almost been a year, and I feel like doctors don't believe me when I say these things. But as you said every body is and different and honestly the study's done only scratch the surface of this and Doctor's do us women a dis service in blowing us off. I've seen two and one said oh you must be eating more... and its common as you get older, ignores the bloating, oh try going on a diet and heavy cardio...and oh yeah the acne is probably from it... I've been on the pill since I was 18, I am now 34, never had an issue until mirena ...We are human guinea pigs with a lot of these medicines and we need to listen to our bodies! Having mine taken out next week!

I am so glad to hear that you experienced bloating and it went away! I am so extremely uncomfortable and it was around the 3 year mark that my former great Mirena experience turned to unbearable looking 6 months pregnant with just bloating.

All this time I've been wondering and Google what was wrong with. No matter what I did I could not lose weight. I've had weight gain about 40lbs, lots of water weight, hair loss, fatigue all the time. Drs ran all kinds of test and nothing. Thank God I got it removed last Friday. I went the whole 5 yrs I now regret it.

This is my experience from 6 months with Mirena and only a few hours without: With Mirena: Pros: Pregnancy prevention Period stopped 5 months in Cons: Depersonalization Derealization Brain fog Gaslighting myself Depression Ruminating thoughts Impulsive aggression Crippling anxiety Delusions Indigestion Cramping Severe bloating (diet independent) Social anxiety Migraines Cravings for anything drug-like (I am a recovering addict, it really played with it even worse than when I was first recovering without Mirena) Feeling a general heaviness No energy Moody as fuck Severe relationship struggles Almost violent My entire personality shifted for the worst (I have BPD and had gone into remission through therapy 6 months prior to IUD insertion. It came back.) Brain fogggggggg Confusion Doubting myself IBS like symptoms Hot flashes Shivers Dozens of bacterial infections Even a UTI thrown in there for good measure Really tense, sore muscles (everywhere, but insanely painful in my back and neck) Suicidal thoughts I'm sure there's more I haven't linked to it yet. After removal: All of the cons are fading away. Reeeeally quickly. Brain fog, abdominal issues, and even depression have lifted significantly within just a few hours. I feel alive and ready to explore the world. Cons: The removal was very painful. Verrrrry. Well worth it. My rating of the Mirena: stay the fuck away. If it COULD ever make you feel as shitty as I did, then it's never worth the risk. The pill did the same kinds of things to me with the depression, so I guess I'll go the good old fashioned route. Force him to get a vasectomy (I never want bio kids) or condoms and spermicide. Simple. Clean. No wanting to die in the process. - Infinity /10 (that's a negative sign) My rating of getting it out and how I feel now: best decision I have ever made for myself. Infinity/10

This is good to hear! I just got mine taken out earlier today (I was only on it for a year & half) and I’m hoping my bloating will go down. I only weigh 125 but have been doing heavy lifting, working out 5-6 days a week, hired a PT and I was still bloated !! So my main reason was because of my stomach bloat where I looked pregnant. I’m concerned about the bleeding - I’m anemic & before going on the iud I was bleeding heavy 7 days, with the iud I was bleeding very light maybe 4 days… but towards the end, I bleed for 3 weeks and that along with the bloat made me schedule my removal appointment

I just got back from the doctor I just got it removed it i was always nauseous and gained 33 lbs headaches Day 2 today I feel like a brand new woman unbelievable!!!!!!! And the doctor kept saying not to take it out until I had it AND TOLD HER ITS MY BODY LADY TAKE IT OUT!!!!

My husband and I have talked about me getting off of my IUD. I’ve had Mirena for about 2 1/2 years now and had Skyla before having my daughter. With Skyla I continuously gained weight and thought it was due to work/moving in with husband and bad eating. Before having my daughter I fought to lose weight and struggled until the 3 months free of bc before getting pregnant. Since getting back on bc, I’ve struggled so much with losing weight. It doesn’t want to come off no matter the diet/exercise routines I do. My skin is also horrible, I’m tired, and my mood has gone down to the point I’m on antidepressants. Hearing your story and looking more into getting off is making me hopeful!

I had the Mirena for 2 & half years too and I finally got it removed TODAY 😃😃😃 I’ve put 2 stone on since having it put in and cannot lose weight! Bloating everyday and migraines every single week without fail! Also raging PMS! I’m so happy it’s out of my body! 🙌🏻

Just left my appt I no longer have Mirena. Going to see how this goes

I have Mirena for almost 7 years. My Dr recommended that i can keep it inside for up to 10 years untill after the menopause. All these years I felt great, no mood swings, no period, cramps, acne or other mentioned side effects. The only issue I can see is the weight gain which can be Mirena related or not. One other major thing that I want to mention here is how much Mirena helped me going through the menopause. I had minor flashes, probably once per day and pretty much that's it. So again Mirena doesn't seem to be for everyone. I am curious though to see whether will be any effects after I will have the IUD removed. Love to all.

Wow! I’ve had no periods, cramps, etc.. But I have gained so much weight and it’s so relieving that so many others have experienced this. I have felt like mirena has been such a heavy weight on my body and I had it removed yesterday and I feel so free! So excited to lose this weight!!

After having my IUD inside for 8yrs, I must say that I felt the same when I got it out, just today. This sense of relief, a boost of energy and joyous freedom instantly flooded me. I so love being free of it!!🎉

I’ve been having mines for 3 yrs now I believe and I think I’m finally at my breaking point with it. Cramps hurt so bad to even stand up straight hurts with the cramps. Didn’t even think about how bad my anxiety has gotten as well as my weight gain & acne ... I’m just gonna have to remember to take that pill getting this removed soon. I want to feel better too

I have been one of those "by the text book", it worked great for me. Before that I had used the copper one and I had heavy and lengthy periods. You are right, everyone is different and we metabolize medication in a different way. Glad you're feeling better now.

It's a tough decision for me because my periods were so bad. Been on mirena for 3 years and do have increased anxiety, depression and weight gain and it's crazy to think I'm contemplating suffering through all that just to not have periods again. Ugh.

The OB that removed my IUD was so condescending and even after I told her that I gained 50+ lbs on it and she said "well actually it's only been 10 lbs we looked." And I know full well that 17 year old me did not weight 150 lbs. i was skinny as can be even after giving birth. I cannot wait to lose weight again, I feel so much more optimistic and happy and energetic since having it taken out.

I will have mine removed on the 15th after five years of having it! I will update you all April 15th to see how I feel!? I haven’t felt like myself since I have had it but I felt like it was just me. After doing research I started hearing and reading these experiences of women feeling the same. It’s nice to know i wasn’t going crazy and putting synthetic hormones in our bodies does play a big toll in our day to day lives! Thanks for this informative video ! ❤️

I got the Merina put in 2.5 years ago (three days after my 21st) I got it put in because I was bleeding for 3.5 years straight... after a year of begging my dr to get it out and threatening to pull it out myself I finally got it out yesterday and I have never felt so good, something incredible happened the moment it left my body, I have never recommended it nor will I never recommend it to others. It stopped the bleeding completely with bleeding from time to time, hopefully for the first time since I was 17 I’ll get a actual period, it’s been 6 years since I’ve had a actual period
