The best surfing of the year by you! And that's the worst thing about the cut that some athletes can improve their performance on tour later and get better and better till the season ends. Keep going and beat all of them, one by one!

the cut in the fifth event seems very unfair to me and the new WSL format seems very bad to me since it is very difficult for athletes to arrive and stay in the circuit, WSL is prioritizing business before sport, l do not like that there is a event in artificial waves, "surfing is governed by nature" words of Mick Fanning three times world champion, WSL is killing this sport that we love so much and its essence, l'm sure many pros think like me, lt's a same not they can say it (rules of the game), two big hugs friend Lakey and Thomas from Barcelona and hopefully WSL reconsiders and does not continue destroying the sport and the athletes who are the true protagonists of the tour 🌹🤙 (l'm sorry but it's my vision)
Great vlog. The first section, with the clean beach, was so entertaining due to the great beach, fun waves and smiles. Which in my opinion is what surfing is. You surfed awsome in your heats. Unfortunate result at the end. But super stoked you made "the cut".

Lakey!! You surfed amazingly against Carissa ! She had only that lucky barrel at the end but overall you had the control over the heat and surfed better IMO. I liked how the board functioned for you! (Is it the ci pro? ) Anyways keep on going 👌🏻
Congrats Lakey! That heat with Riss was insane. Never let Riss go again, ever!! I also think the WSL was bs’ing you and knew you’d make the cut regardless of whether or not you made it through the round with Riss. They wanted you to leave it all on the line I think. Don’t let yourself think you’re out of rhythm, you aren’t. You’ve been surfing great. You’re not mistaken about that. So don’t second guess it…the judges appear to have an agenda. At least that’s what it appears to be to me as an outsider. You’re right about CA, it could be so much more beautiful. It was in the 80s and 90s when I grew up there. The politicians are all criminals sadly, and they don’t care about Californians. It’s a real tragedy.
@@Lakey_Peterson I think you are. I’ve heard you question that, and yourself, in two separate interviews. You know you’re surfing well, and say so, but then second guess it because heats don’t go your way. You say something like, “I’m just not in a rhythm”, but the way Ron Burgundy read the ? in on the teleprompter in that movie. I don’t think you need to do that. We all see you’re in a good rhythm and are surfing well, regardless of how the heat falls. It’s not you or a rhythm is what I’m trying to say. But it does appear you’re gonna have to make the judges believe somehow from here on out. I’m not sure what that entails honestly, cause you are already surfing great. I think they have favorites personally. I have no ponies in the race, I just call it how I see it. I think you’re surfing has looked pretty good all season frankly. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤙🤙

I was just listening to "spit " podcast . They were saying how the wsl brought in a rule to let former world title winners and makers of the top 5 the previous year an exemption to stay on tour if they fail to make the cut . Can you speak about this and what you guys know about it ? In my opinion, the wsl making that rule is basically admitting the format is flawed. Thoughts ?
❤ firstly, please tell tom tom he needs to bust out that flowbee and cut his mane back to road warrior length, as he is starting to look like a hippie :) (just kidding, t, i'm just jealous that you have a full head or hair :) lakey, you are perfect, don't change (inxs) anything :) looking great and aggro on those waves, lakey, especially those gouging top turns and the epic trademark cutbacks into and around the foam. i am no expert, for sure, but my only thought is that i wonder if you might benefit from a board with a tiny bit more foam (not a lot, just a little, maybe 1/16" to 1/8"), and maybe one size longer, if not the same length, especially in the mid section, for such thicker waves to help balance and reduce chop bounce, make a smoother faster ride, and help navigate the sections, keeping you on top of the water while still allowing for your high performance maneuvers. i wish i could be there with you both to enjoy W.A. too, as it looks beautiful, and i have yet to throw another shrimp on the barbie :) (old 80s commercial. nevermind)

Top stuff, indeed. And In my opinion, the Aussie, flat meat pies with beef, pepper and onion are the best in the world. And if you see any one throwing rubbish on the ground or beach, we call them a tosser, and ask them to please, pick it up. And put it in the Bin.
