It is hard to feel sorry for you when you are saying “it’s so cold”, when you are standing outside in short sleeves and you are not even shivering! I could never do that! I moved from CT to GA to escape the cold and snow. You guys are amazing. Keep warm!
Talking to us calmly in a t-shirt outside in 30 below temps! Stoking the fire all night to keep your daughter warm was so touching. I agree with Jessica about staying busy, but down time is important too! I give you all a lot of credit for adapting so well to those temps as well as the darkness/daylight severe shifts! Some of your shots of the snow show how beautiful it can be!
I live close to the Poconos in Pennsylvania. It's 9:26pm and 34°F. I'm not a cold fan so I'm not loving this weather. Seeing Bert in a tee shirt at -30° made me freeze instantly!! Love you guys!
I live kind of by you. I'm in a small town outside of Williamsport called jersey shore. Its been a few years since I visited the Poconos. Its really nice there. Hope you have a marvelous day
@@MichelleLee- my husband came in from getting the mail and said it was flurrying and I'm like ok time to move to Florida! I hate the cold more every year
12 degrees below zero F here in Anchorage, Alaska. Our boiler malfunctioned, but Don McCann (McCann Plumbing and Heating) arrived in 30 minutes and saved us. God bless him! I'm born and raised here, but I like this super sub-zero weather saved for January and February, when we usually expect it! We have been watching the grandbabies for 2 weeks (2 and 4 years old), and we took them out for walks 2 times every day. They were as short as 4 minutes, but they loved being outside. Stay warm guys!
Actually I understand it’s hard to slow down sis . A momma always is looking ahead . She looks ahead works ahead for her family , her friends , her neighbors. That’s what it’s like in proverbs 31. And hubby is like that in his own way that God intended. How amazing it is to be a part of watching this in a family . Gods many blessings on growing and growing in Him together.
Same here. It's-3°C ( more or less 28°F in Montréal Canada and was teasing another vlogger in South Carolina who was cold at 50°F. It's a question of perspective. However, you are cold. Burrrr....
@@MydNyteRayne 36 years in Alaska dry climate, I doubt at 59 my body is going to adapt to heat and humidity. Anything above 70, I want to be in the AC.
There is something about Fairbanks and North Pole when it get to sub zero temperatures that makes these places unique. It seems everyone is thinking Xmas before we have gotten past Turkey day. But since you are so close to the 'North Pole' I understand. Alaska is so beautiful with the snow.
P.S have you done the coloured water in a balloon yet? It's where you fill a balloon with coloured water and leave it outside in the cold, once it is frozen solid, peel the balloon rubber off and it leaves beautiful coloured balls, looks good on the decks or round the outside of the house, and of course it melt away in the spring.
Happy Thanksgiving , I found it relatable when you and your husband talk about just relaxing and you have a hard time doing that . My husband is always telling me to slow down especially when I’m getting ready for the holidays , I can’t stop decorating until it’s all done and van then I tweak things constantly.
I can not believe 35 below zero. I live in NC and it is 30 and we think that is cold. I have been walking so no matter how cold it is, I put on my gloves, dress warm and get out there and walk for about 45 minutes at least. I found out a month ago I am a diabetic, so I need to walk. I have more energy and I do feel better. I enjoy watching your videos so much about live in Alaska. I can not believe throwing water and it disappears. Amazing. Alaska is just an amazing place to live. I hope to one day visit Alaska. I would love to see the northern lights. I am 67 and I want to stay active. I have just been walking for about 3 months now and when I retired, I just sat down and watched tv. I want to stay active as long as I can.
Want to wish your family a Happy Thanksgiving. It is 38 degrees here on Cape Cod Massachusetts. That is cold for us. So we stay in the house and read ( old retired folks ). You all take care and stay safe. We are dealing with covid numbers going up a little here in Mass. Look forward to your next launch date. 🦃
I’m the same way Jessica. I’m the energizer bunny also. Can’t sit still at all. Hands have to be busy. Happy thanksgiving to your family from ours in Ky. It’s 29 right now at 9:00 pm
I’m moving there ON FRIDAY 😱 So your videos have been super helpful to me!! 💕 Even if some folks don’t care about the weather updates in your vlogs, some of us DEFINITELY do!! It reassures me that I maybe might survive my first Alaskan winter 😅 so thank you!!
I live in northern Utah. The weather is unseasonably warm. It is like living in a California winter. No snow. We have been in a drought this summer ! I hope things get better. :)
@@marshataylor3703 I like that weather depends on how much snow there is but I enjoy the cold. As long as it’s not below zero than I’m fine . Today in Colorado it’s a warm 60 degrees with wind.
Hey just in case we don’t get another vlog before thanksgiving, i would like to say that you for pouring your lives into us this year. I know it takes a lot of work and time. Thank you for your positivity and your love for people. So from me here in Washington thank you for giving me hope that God will meet my news this holidays. Bert put a jacket on lil
We just dipped into the 40s at night here in Williamsburg Virginia. brrrrrrrrr❄️🌨️🥶😝 but I would give anything to have your weather. Especially at Christmas but then it can get warm. 😆
In the 50s here in SC! Can’t imagine 35 below! Coldest we’ve ever had that I can remember is 8 one morning & 12 next morning which is very unusual for us. My uncle lived in Fairbanks for 30 years & loved it. He grew up in hot & humid Georgia. He always had a dream to live in Alaska & moved there when he worked on the pipeline. He worked in the tundra for 2 wks & then back in Fairbanks for 2 weeks. He retired to Palm Springs.
Poland here - We had our first snow this morning which is quite normal for this time of year. On the other hand, our ten previous years were unusually warm so it is a bit of a shock. But children are happy and already singing christmas carols ;)
The one thing I hate about the time change, it gets dark so early. Since I live way out in the country, it's as dark as your place. Our neighbors are woods, and cows. We try to keep ourselves busy in the house with cleaning, baking, cooking, reading, and watching vlogs.
I'm living in my car in North Pole. Saturday night, I seen my car display say it was -33°F. May have gotten colder, that's just the coldest I seen on the display. But, it was a nice 68°F inside the car. Everyone I tell at first can't believe what I'm doing, but I'm loving it.
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁 Somers family. I can’t imagine what subzero temperatures feel like. I’m here in Hawaii at 83 degrees with a cool breeze. Glad to hear your launch date.
28F in Knoxville, TN -- I'm here temporarily from Florida and I"m FREEZING! I moved from Connecticut 3 years ago... and haven't felt this in that long. 30-40F below FORGET it!
I live in Michigan, work third shift and when I left work at 6am today it was 35 degrees. Not too shabby. Supposed to get up into the 40's and maybe low 50's but we will see. Love you all and wish you a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!!
It’s 80 degrees here today (Texas). It was chilly (for us) this morning. But today’s high is 80. Short sleeves today! I love cold weather! Alaska is my dream!
I live about 20 from the North Pole, NY Whiteface Mountain, Wilmington, NY. Anyway it’s getting cold here we usually have snow but only a couple inches . It’s in the 20s at night and 30-40 in the day!! Glad I found your family loving all the positivity , love, and family time ❤️❤️❤️
That white hutch near the fireplace would look super cute on the wall behind the couch near the dining room (if its wide enough), you could scoot the couch in just a couple feet to keep the walkway open still. Then you could fill it with cute dishes, etc. Just a thought while you were walking around your living room🙂
Hello from Melbourne, Australia! It was 26 here today (79F). Not too bad considering our Summer starts next month and it will get up to tops of between 35 and 45 (95F - 113F)! I love seeing all the snow you get because it doesn't snow where we are ever.
Started watching your show a few months ago. And I am hooked. Love the positivity from you all. I actually like to end my day with one of your episodes to wind down and leave it on a good note
Here in Louisiana it's 48 outside with a high of 58, and I am absolutely loving it. I do wish it was colder because it gets so hot down here in the south I try to soak up all of the coolness we get in the fall/winter. Hopefully one day I'll get to experience Alaska in the winter time.. I am definitely one of those that loves the snow and cold weather
Such fun to see the kids when they were really young tossing boiling water! Nice memories for you, and fun for those of us that remember you doing that when you lived in the blue house. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving. Best Wishes.
Morning somers , here in England it’s around freezing point at the moment , at 02:10 am , just getting ready to start work . After what happened with our daughter back in august we decided to put our Christmas tree and decorations up over the weekend .
It is 72 degrees here at 9:30pm. High today was 80. The sun is still so warm. And then, there are those folks north and east of us are having really chilly weather. When I lived near the Canadian border we were actually snowed in on Thanksgiving. The only way to get around was by snowmobile. It was challenging. But really a great adventure. The kids loved it!! Stay warm I absolutely love your Christmas decor. Very classy! Have a safe, fun, Happy Thanksgiving! Keep the fires burning. Looks so cozy! Love from the desert to you all!!! 🐾🐾🐕🐕♥️♥️🏠🥅🎿🏒🎄
You can fill balloons with colored water, let them freeze, then take the balloon off. Stack near the porch - they look like Christmas ornaments! We decorated our outside for Christmas already. We are in Florida in a 55 and over development, and everyone goes all out for not only Christmas, but every holiday! My neighbor decorated to the point of overload - and he told me today he bought some additional stuff for his yard. Didn’t think he could fit anything else! Lol Fun tho!
Thank you for sharing. My older brother spent 3 1/2 years up there with the base. Its nice to see what he lived with. I remember him visiting on leave in the winter in Ohio with a t-shirt only. I was dumbfounded with the fact with the thought of a 10/11 year old.
My goodness, temperatures I can't even fathom. Over the summer here in Greece it reached 110 degrees Fahrenheit. It felt like an oven outside. Currently, it's 60 degrees Fahrenheit and we are all shivering. Yet, I'm still envious of where you live. Lucky ducks! To live in such beauty is my dream. At least I can see it, even from such a distance. Sending you lots of love!
Considering I live in sunny Southern California, weather here has been unseasonably warm with days high in the low 70 F and the low of anywhere between 63-52 F which is not normal here. At this time, we should be colder and wetter at night and the day meaning 60’s during the day and 50’s at night. Seasonal depression isn’t a thing here and we all marvel at how the rest of the country copes with being stuck inside when it’s just too cold out or socked by snow drifts in your house. Being a native Californian all my life , I don’t know how I’d combat the cold and not go insane in Alaska.
Love you guys and am so excited to see the vlogs every time I get a notification for them!!! Can’t wait for another launch, loved all the stuff I’ve scored so far!!
My daughter finally convinced my husband to decorate before Thanksgiving. So our tree and most of the decor is up. We have 16 hours of sunlight in the summer and 8 in the winter. I like to slow down in the winter. My husband is the opposite. He likes to stay busy all the time.
It was 86 here in San Diego today. Our lives couldn't be more different. I wouldn't last 10 minutes living there. I've been to Alaska twice, both in summer.
The only time in my memory of living in snow was Virginia back in the 70’s. Worst winter in decades. Blizzards and ice no nice soft dry snow. It was hard packed and like cement. No snowmen, no snow angels and definitely too cold for our vinyl and knit mittens. We were woefully unprepared having moved from Az and froze out tushees off!
Definitely warmer here in Black River Falls, Wisconsin than normal..we were 7° yesterday morning, but tomorrow up to almost 50°..we've had very little snow so far this season, definitely behind..wishing everyone a happy & healthy Thanksgiving 🍁🍂🍃🦃
Happy early thanksgiving, SOMERS. I hope you have a good, safe, warm day. As a former Fairbanks Alaska resident, I dealt with below zero negative temperatures. For the past 2 decades, I’ve dealt with freezing cold temperatures. As a South Carolina resident now, we don’t have below zero temperatures. The lowest temperatures in the east coast is 20 degrees. Much prayers and love to you SOMERS. I hope you have a safe thanksgiving. Much prayers and love to you SOMERS. Stay warm and stay surviving the below zero temperatures. Continue on your road on getting the giant gold play button.❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
We have seen 10° nw of Greenville, my friend moved from Ak to NC and their first winter they saw -10, though they are about 3200 feet in elevation. I prefer the cold, in the interior it’s dry and -20 doesn’t feel as cold as the 10° in SC.
I spent the last 2 days in bed getting ready for a procedure today and watched an embarrassing amount of your old videos 🥺 I’m excited to see a new one! I’m in AZ so nice and warm here 😬
It’s getting cooler where I live at night finally. It’s 75F currently 9:16pm. But I live on an Island in the Caribbean so yeah, during the day is horribly humid and hot.
It's 25 degrees here and snowing we will have that till April or May. I like watching living in Alaska and buying in Hawaii to see the beaches and different weather.
Our weather in the Big Bend area of Florida has been blessed with actual fall weather for the past 3.5 - 4 weeks has been very pleasant. We have had highs in the low 70's to mid 70's, with a few 80's and our temps at night have been as low as 38, but mainly in the mid 40's. This weather is my FAVORITE!!!
