Kamie, the world without birth control is fascinating. I read a book called Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden and she mentioned in the book a correlation between period issues and gluten consumption!

I really enjoyed this episode. I have my own battles when it comes to birth control but I finally decided to just leave it alone completely. Also that listener definitely hit home. I’m gonna figure it out lol.

I just want to say, some people come on to the pill for reasons they might not realize were sort of masking other things...gaining weight could've been pcos, major pain could've endo, major acne could be hormones or thyroid etc, birth control can in fact be medication that treats something. And if you don't love the side effects or whatever you may need to come off it but it may mean needing to treat something you perhaps were too young or too early in the process to realize you were covering. It doesn't make any of it tragic or evil in one way or another its just a factoid to be managed

I quit 2 years ago, the first year it was like rediscovering my body again but i was NOT used to not being on it. Periods were off, cramping was worse yet I felt soooo much healthier

Sisssss. This episode was everything because I've been having serious gut issues. I have several things going on but never realized I needed to prepare to get off birth control. I had most of these symptoms and my gut was a hot ass mess! I've found that when I don't have a lot of gluten and bad shit it's better but these horrible period cramps and back pain. Lawd have mercy I wasn't ready lol. Overall though my anxiety has been better and I sleep a little better too so I'm glad I got off it. I'm tryna go ring shopping too hahah 😂❤

Very informative. But no shade whatsoever - do people want marriage THIS bad? Is something wrong with me for being 34 and not as crazy about getting ringed sized while putting pressure on my significant other to propose ? I’m starting to feel like something is wrong with me because I’m also comfortable with not having kids right now.

I went off BC several times n my past. The hormones do a lot to your body but for perimenopause they are amazing and life-saving! I felt like a completely different person all of a sudden when I hit 45 and it was very strange. I dealt with an old school gynecologist and she put me on the pill daily with no brakes and my life has been feeling like normal ever since LOL. The problem is if I forget a day then I feel like a crazy person and like someone has invaded my body. I would love to see you do a show on Perio menopause or menopause.

I'm so scared to have acne again once I stop taking the pill 😢
